"Are you all rested?" Elephant General looked at the twelve individuals before him. They had marched thirty kilometers in the dead of night, reached their target location within two hours, and set up remote-controlled explosives. After nearly two hours of repairs, it was now four in the morning, just before dawn when people felt the most fatigued. 0

"Yes!" Everyone nodded. Although it seemed difficult for ordinary people to maintain their energy at this hour, they were different. They could operate continuously under high-intensity missions for dozens of hours. This was the first standard for any country's special forces: never let physical limitations lead to mission failure. 0

What the six members of the U.S. Military Special Forces did not expect was that Chen Rui, who appeared to be less robust, seemed to have even more energy than they did. It was impossible for them to enhance Chen Rui's capabilities from outside; could it be that these active-duty special forces members were outperformed by a white-collar worker from a Chinese state-owned enterprise? 0

"Signal reception is normal! Who can detonate?" White Wolf, holding the controller for the explosives at the base of the high-voltage tower, confirmed that everything was functioning properly and nodded at Elephant General. 0

Elephant General glanced at his dive watch and surveyed everyone. "Comrades! We have five minutes to adjust. At exactly four o'clock, we will launch our assault on the target!" 0

"Understood!" 0

For various reasons, Chen Rui did not issue any commands to these two special forces units; he was not their superior at this moment. After coordinating with the Black team, Elephant General agreed to take unified command while each unit would manage their own combat operations as long as they achieved their objectives. 0

Upon hearing this, the tension that had just been taut among them eased considerably. In this situation, conserving energy would increase their chances of success later. 0

No one spoke; each person silently moved their bodies, gradually entering a high-energy state to avoid panicking during a sudden anaerobic sprint. 0

"Time's up! Everyone prepare!" Elephant General stood up and addressed them. The others also rose, gripping their weapons tightly, chambering rounds, safety off, with fingers already resting on triggers. 0

At that moment, they were like wolves in the mountains, ready to pounce on their already-targeted prey. 0

Elephant General nodded at White Wolf and whispered, "Start!" 0

White Wolf quickly pressed the red button on his controller. Moments later, a faint tremor emanated from the west, followed by all warning lights in the Nuclear Control Center dimming completely. 0

"Detonate!" 0

"B!" 0

The wall directly south of the Nuclear Control Center was blasted open, and at that moment, the Automatic Machine Guns and Rocket Launchers remained on standby. A combat group of over ten fierce individuals swiftly broke into the interior of the Nuclear Control Center. 0

The Defensive Duty Personnel were not fools, but their numbers were limited. There were only twelve guards on duty throughout the entire Ground Base, scattered across six locations, with the Gate Guards being the first to arrive. 0

Four Gate Guards rushed in with their weapons drawn, but as soon as they appeared, they were knocked down by a barrage of bullets, leaving them no time to react. 0

As other duty guards hurried to the scene, the explosion had awakened most of the resting personnel. They quickly dressed and grabbed their weapons before rushing outside. However, due to the lack of electricity, their response speed was far too slow to match that of the special forces. 0

This thirteen-member mixed Combat Group successfully reached the Silo as if entering a deserted area. They disciplined themselves into two teams of six, with one differently dressed individual following the first team. 0

Upon reaching the Silo, the first team quickly unfastened their Climbing Ropes and hooked them onto the exterior of the Silo before tossing the ropes inside. The six members began to descend into the Silo. 0

The second team followed closely behind, immediately crouching down upon arrival at the Silo. They aimed at any direction from which guards might emerge, providing cover for the first team. 0

"Vroom vroom vroom vroom vroom..." The sound of a massive diesel engine echoed, accompanied by hurried footsteps that signaled imminent danger. 0

"Start descending!" commanded the Black Special Forces Soldier but was interrupted by a white soldier beside him. "But it's not time yet! They shouldn't have reached the entrance." 0

"We can't wait! If we delay any longer and those Automatic Machine Guns open fire, we're all done for!" The Black Special Forces Soldier shook his head, pulled out a Climbing Rope from his waist, and shouted loudly, "Start descending! Now!" 0

The six members of the second team quickly retrieved their Climbing Ropes and secured them to the Hook above before rapidly descending toward the bottom of the Silo. 0

Just as they entered the Silo, within five seconds, both Automatic Machine Guns and Hive Rocket Launchers began to operate, automatically searching for signs of intruders. 0

"Where is everyone?" Tiger peeked out to assess the situation in the corridor. Everything felt so familiar; however, this time they did not encounter those relentless guards from before. 0

Lion Brother looked at the familiar passage and smiled as he patted Tiger on the head. "Silly! What do you think they're doing at this hour? Their guards are probably fewer than the number of people on the ground! Besides, they likely can't hear anything from here. Whether sending someone down from above or notifying through communications, it takes time, which is why no one has come to hunt us down yet." 0

Tiger laughed and turned to Chen Rui. "That's true! So what do we do now?" 0

Chen Rui felt their gazes fixated on him and couldn't help but get annoyed. "What are you looking at me for? Am I God?" 0

"In a way, you really are God..." White Wolf said with a faint smile, teasing him. 0

"..." Chen Rui was at a loss for words. White Wolf, who usually didn't talk much and never joked around, was now making fun of himself. 0

"The current situation is that we need to conduct a defensive operation, which is our strong suit. We have to hold our ground and let the big dogs confirm the combat section of this Missile, then analyze its internal structure so that White Wolf can prepare the demolition plan and set up the explosives," Elephant General began assigning tasks. "White Wolf must ensure safety, so he will be positioned at the last line of defense. We will defend in the order of Tiger, Lion Brother, myself, Fox, and White Wolf. Do you understand?" 0

"Understood!" everyone shouted. 0

The defensive order didn't mean that each person would guard a specific section; it was simply the arrangement in a Z or V formation. It didn't guarantee that those at the back would survive until the end; it just meant that those at the rear would face significantly less firepower than those in front. 0

As they confirmed their defensive formation, six members of the American Special Forces emerged from the Silo. A Black Special Forces Soldier chuckled bitterly, "Damn! Almost died up there!" 0

Elephant General glanced at the six of them and, seeing no obvious injuries, calmly said, "As long as you're fine! Now we need to assign tasks. The demolition work will be handled by us, while you will take on half of the defensive duties." 0

A Black Special Forces Soldier frowned. "Are you looking down on us? You handle the demolition while only giving us half of the defense? Do you really think we're just pretty faces with no skills?" 0

Elephant General realized his good intentions were taken as provocation and shook his head with a wry smile. "That's not what I meant. I just think unnecessary actions shouldn't be taken, and we aren't at a disadvantage in terms of numbers." He shot a glance at Chen Rui, who was leaning against the wall chewing gum. 0

"No way! We’ll send our technicians to assist you with the demolition work!" The Black Special Forces Soldier was very stubborn and spoke arrogantly. "Charles! You go with their technicians to check on the combat section! Daniel! You’ll go with their demolitions expert to set up explosives!" 0

"Understood!" The two White Special Forces Soldiers stood at attention immediately, proudly raising their heads with their arrogance intact. 0

"Alright! Since you insist on this, I won't say anything more. You defend this side, and we'll defend that side. No matter how we defend, we must not let the enemy enter this passage!" The Elephant General pointed to a passage in front of him and addressed the Black Special Forces Soldier. 0

The passage defended by the Black Special Forces Soldier was unfamiliar to the Elephant General and his team, but they had walked through their own defensive passage, so they were very clear about every corner and intersection. This was why they dared to overlook one person's combat capability to defend this passage. 0

After confirming their responsibilities, the Black Special Forces Soldier led four White Special Forces Soldiers toward the other passage, while the Elephant General and his team headed in this direction, leaving Big Dog and Charles to search for the Missile's combat unit. 0

"Is it really okay for us to stay here? Won't they fire at us?" Big Dog asked with uncertainty. They were currently inside the Silo, slowly moving up along the maintenance passage, but their heads were directly exposed to the watchful eyes of the ground troops above. 0

"Don't worry; they've definitely received orders not to fire at the Missile, even if it costs them their lives! We're quite safe here! Besides, it's hard for them to see us clearly," Charles said as he put on night vision goggles and began scanning for the Missile. 0

Inside the passage: 0

Tiger reached the designated defensive position and prepared for defense when he noticed an extra person in their formation. That person stood right in the middle of their group, blocking the view of those behind him and becoming a target for enemy fire. 0

"Why hasn't he been assigned a task?" Tiger pointed at Chen Rui and asked the Elephant General. 0

"He has a task! He knows it himself," Elephant General replied with a glance at Chen Rui, smiling lightly. 0

Chen Rui pouted. "As if I volunteered for this… Just give me two more magazines so I don't have to pick up guns later!" 0

The Elephant General and Big Dog each handed Chen Rui a magazine. Chen Rui attached the magazines to his tactical belt, sighed, and slowly moved forward with his 416 rifle in hand under everyone's gaze. 0
