Gu Ze was injured. In an attempt to help Xu Hang evade the attack of one Steel-Toothed Crocodile, he was bitten on the right shoulder by another Steel-Toothed Crocodile. 0

This was a Steel-Toothed Crocodile from the System, capable of easily crushing human bones. 0

Xu Nuan stood wide-eyed on a tree trunk, watching everything unfold, her hand trembling slightly as it clutched the main trunk for support. 0

Although Gu Ze had managed to escape the jaws of the Steel-Toothed Crocodile, his shoulder was still bleeding profusely. The crimson blood quickly soaked through his white shirt, creating a hauntingly beautiful image reminiscent of plum blossoms blooming against the snow. 0

The sudden turn of events left everyone stunned. Deng Yinyin, who was hiding in the same tree as Xu Nuan, couldn't help but jump down. After a clumsy fall to the ground, she hurriedly got up and rushed to Gu Ze's side, wanting to touch his injured shoulder but unsure how to help. 0

"What are you doing down here?" 0

Gu Ze couldn't afford to pay attention to his wounded shoulder. With his left hand still gripping a short knife, he kept a wary eye on the two Steel-Toothed Crocodiles, their ferocity heightened by the scent of blood. He pushed Deng Yinyin away with his barely functional right hand, his tone tinged with impatience. 0

"Get back up! We can't afford to be distracted!" 0

During Gu Ze's words, Xu Hang finally managed to pin one of the Steel-Toothed Crocodiles in place with a short knife and an axe. This restraint drove the creature into a frenzy; it began thrashing about violently, knocking over their campfire from the night before and scattering their belongings that had yet to be packed away. 0

This commotion made its companion agitated as well. Its coppery eyes flashed red intermittently, sending chills down their spines, though it showed no immediate intention to attack. It seemed as if it were being controlled—possessing its own awareness yet unable to manage its actions. 0

In this brief moment of distraction, Xu Hang moved closer to Gu Ze, frowning at his bleeding shoulder before glancing at the anxious Deng Yinyin beside him. A hint of anger appeared on his otherwise expressionless face. 0

"Stop causing trouble and get back up!" 0

Deng Yinyin pouted and hid behind Gu Ze, showing no intention of climbing the tree to escape. 0

Xu Hang's calm expression began to crack. 0

Tang Jingshu and Xie Huai were at a loss on the same tree, unsure whether to speak up now. 0

Xu Nuan furrowed her brows. It was a critical moment, yet Xu Hang was still at a standstill with Deng Yinyin. Gu Ze, despite being injured, was attempting to attack the Steel-Toothed Crocodile that was meters away from him. 0

Was it because they were thrown in as Players that their attitudes were so lax? Xu Nuan gripped the trunk tightly, her fingertips turning white, and the scattered, unhealed wounds on her fingers hinted at what she had endured in the past. 0

The nauseating smell of blood, the stench of rotting animal corpses, the miasma in the dense forest causing thin air, and the ever-approaching footsteps of death surrounded them. 0

"I." 0

Xu Nuan spoke expressionlessly, drawing the attention of Xu Hang and Deng Yinyin, while Gu Ze remained on high alert, only able to glance at Xu Nuan in the tree with his peripheral vision. 0

Xu Nuan pointed in a direction, her voice as calm as water. 0

"If you three run in that direction immediately, you'll find a large thicket of thorny bushes. Those thorns are poisonous; you can crawl underneath and hide there. The Steel-Toothed Crocodile won't be able to get through." 0

Having stood on the tree and surveyed her surroundings, Xu Nuan quickly devised this plan. She had no intention of challenging these ferocious creatures; all she wanted was to survive. She had always known this was a Death Game—whatever it took to get through was acceptable. 0

Seeing Xu Hang's face regain its calmness, Xu Nuan swiftly glanced back at the restless Steel-Toothed Crocodile and added more information. 0

"We three can stay in the tree and wait for them to leave on their own; it's just a matter of time." 0

Xu Nuan couldn't understand why these hungry creatures would give them so much time for such nonsense, but she hoped for a good outcome. 0

However, it turned out that she shouldn't impose her own thoughts on others, especially those she wasn't familiar with. 0
