Inside the World Government Conference, Dragon stood before a gathering of national leaders, speaking passionately. "The Dragon People have oppressed us for too long; it is time for us to resist."
A king could not help but interject, "But they have a massive army. How can we possibly stand against them?"
"Moreover, if war breaks out, the world will descend into chaos. The pirates are already rampant; what will happen then?" Cobra added, unable to contain his concern.
"We have no interest in getting involved in your war," Dalton stated firmly. "At least you haven't shown us a viable future."
"Indeed, the Dragon People possess a vast army, and their Navy controls the entire world. War would undoubtedly lead to turmoil and adversely affect all nations," Dragon replied slowly. "But what if the army were to stand with us?"
"How is that even possible?" the King of the Giants retorted coldly.
"Whether it is possible or not depends on the outcome we await," Dragon said, glancing toward the back of the room. "Am I wrong, Admiral Kong?"
"Admiral Kong?" The assembled kings turned to see a burly officer stepping forward from the side—none other than Admiral Kong, the Marshal of the World Government's three military branches.
Behind him trailed seven or eight others.
"The Elders did not come?" Dragon asked him.
"No," Kong replied as he approached Dragon. "And there is no need for them to be here."
"What does Admiral Kong plan to do?" Dragon asked with a smile as he looked at the other person.
"That depends on what you do," came the reply.
"I have no way to act against you while holding over 170 kings hostage," Kong stated.
"Is that so?"
Dragon chuckled and said, "Once they determine the outcome, regardless of what it is, I will release those kings."
"Alright."
Kong sat cross-legged not far away. "I'll wait with you, but I hope you keep your word."
"Of course."
Dragon nodded lightly and walked over to a table, picking up some fruit to eat.
At this moment, the fighting outside had ceased, and all the armies had retreated far away, leaving the area to Ace and Sabo. Ace and Sabo stood guard at the entrance, neither entering the house nor leaving.
"Whoever succeeds, you will die," Kong suddenly said. "In this new era, there is no place for you."
"If my death can signify the beginning of an era," Dragon raised his glass with a smile and said, "then why should I be afraid? At least the final outcome will be better than the present."
Kong also raised his glass and drank it down in one go.
Flames descended from the sky, engulfing the entire passage. The stones sizzled as they were scorched, completely covering Xiaqiu.
"It's so hot."
The flames burned against Xiaqiu's body, yet they could not incinerate his form; instead, the heat continued to transfer, growing more intense.
In just a moment of being enveloped by the fire, Xiaqiu leaped up and charged into the flames.
Boom.
Xiaqiu burst forth from the fire, his six legs thrashing in the air as he soared toward the fire dragon, aiming his head directly at its mouth.
"This is my territory."
The fire dragon opened its massive jaws and lunged at Xiaqiu, its enormous maw capable of swallowing his head whole.
Yet Xiaqiu did not dodge or evade; he collided straight into the fire dragon, his head crashing against its teeth.
Clang.
The sound of metal clashing echoed as Xiaqiu's head was caught between the fire dragon's teeth, which began to apply pressure slowly.
Sizzle, sizzle.
The dragon's teeth sliced through the armor formed by Armament Haki, cutting into Xiaqiu's scales and leaving behind white streaks as they continued to shred through.
At that moment, six tentacles shot out and struck against the fire dragon's teeth.
Bang, bang, bang.
The muffled sounds echoed, and the Fire Dragon's expression changed. It immediately loosened its grip and unleashed another burst of flames.
It had bitten down on Xiaqiu's head, but the force of Xiaqiu's impact was tremendous, pulling its teeth backward.
The hardness of the teeth was high, but the strength of the gums that held them was somewhat weaker. Coupled with six Tentacles shooting toward it, if Xiaqiu twisted inside its mouth, it could very well shatter its teeth.
Whoosh.
Xiaqiu escaped from its jaws, plummeting downward. Its form seemed to shrink slightly in midair, but then it propelled itself forward with a powerful thrust of its six legs.
Xiaqiu lunged at the Fire Dragon's neck, but the dragon was already prepared, raising its front paw to swat at Xiaqiu's head.
Bang.
A tremendous force struck, sending Xiaqiu plummeting again. However, it quickly steadied itself with a push from its six legs and landed gently.
"He can fly; this is bad," Xiaqiu thought, feeling a bit troubled. It couldn't keep charging at him repeatedly.
Moreover, given its own physical strength, it would take a long time to bring him down if it tried to fight in the air.
So Xiaqiu abandoned the idea of attacking and transformed into a blur, racing toward the passageway.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
Xiaqiu ran faster and faster, swiftly darting past beneath the Fire Dragon.
"Do you want to run?"
The Fire Dragon, witnessing this scene, immediately turned and lunged at Xiaqiu. With a powerful flap of its wings and a thrust of its four legs, it transformed into a shadow, pouncing in an instant.
The Fire Dragon's claws reached for Xiaqiu's body, but before they could make contact, Xiaqiu had already vanished, evading the strike in the blink of an eye.
Then, with a leap, he turned back and charged at the Fire Dragon.
Bang.
The Fire Dragon's claws aimed for Xiaqiu's head, but Xiaqiu was quicker, slapping against its side instead.
Boom.
Xiaqiu was sent flying, crashing into the base of a nearby cliff and disappearing into it.
Rumble.
The mountainside began to crumble inch by inch, sending massive stones tumbling down.
Using the force from the Fire Dragon's strike along with his own strength, Xiaqiu collided with the cliff face, shattering the surrounding mountains. However, he struck lower down; the force exploded outward in a fan shape, pushing horizontally from below. As the upper mountain crumbled, it tilted toward him, crashing down onto the Fire Dragon's right wing.
"Useless."
The Fire Dragon snorted coldly. It stomped its four legs on the ground and shifted its body to the left. Yet stones continued to rain down. With a powerful flap of its right wing, it shattered the boulders into dust; some fragments even flew back and collided with the remaining stones, breaking them apart further.
After two powerful flaps, the boulders were scattered in mid-air without inflicting any damage on it.
Its sturdy wings and formidable physical prowess rendered those massive stones completely ineffective.
But at that moment, a shadow lunged at him, aiming for his wing.
"Seeking death."
Seeing this, the Fire Dragon flapped his right wing, striking at the shadow.
Boom.
The shadow collided with his wing, producing a loud noise, and both figures came to a halt.
"What immense power."
The Fire Dragon felt his wing tremble, a wave of pain washing over him, causing him to momentarily falter. Then he opened his mouth wide and bit downwards.
Boom.
The shadow was sent flying back, crashing to the ground but managed to steady itself, its six legs firmly planted on the surface as it stomped down repeatedly.
Rumble.
The ground erupted beneath them, cracks spreading outwards as massive stones shattered and were flung into the air, only to break apart again.
The force capable of shattering city walls stomped down dozens of times on the ground, and with all six legs working together, it turned the earth into dust.
Just as the shadow was about to bite down on Xiaqiu, the ground split open. His foot slipped slightly, causing him to slow down just a bit.
Taking advantage of the last few stomps, Xiaqiu used a technique to vanish and collided with the Fire Dragon's hind leg.
"Useless."
The Fire Dragon lifted its right hind leg and kicked forward.
Bang.
The dragon's claw collided with Xiaqiu's head, causing Xiaqiu's body to freeze in place, while the Fire Dragon's claw bent unnaturally.
"That was a bit too much force."
The Fire Dragon's expression darkened; the impact was immense, exceeding the power of any of its legs, and it had directly broken its own finger bones.
But in that instant, the Fire Dragon's tail had already swung around, striking at Xiaqiu.
The massive tail, adorned with sharp bone spines, carried tremendous force as it slammed into Xiaqiu's side.
Bang.
Just before it made contact with Xiaqiu, six Tentacles shot out and collided with the dragon's tail, blocking the attack.
However, the Fire Dragon's right wing came crashing down toward Xiaqiu's back.
At the moment of impact, Xiaqiu pushed off with its six legs and swiftly retreated.
But at that moment, the Fire Dragon's enormous jaws appeared above Xiaqiu's back, ready to bite down.
Not good.
Xiaqiu pushed off again with its six legs and shifted sideways, but with a loud crash, it was hurled back into the collapsing ruins.
Yet Xiaqiu's dorsal fin had vanished without a trace, having been torn off by the Fire Dragon, which was now greedily chewing on it.
"Damn it."
Xiaqiu stood upright. He had only caused his claw to fracture, yet he had lost his dorsal fin.
It wasn't worth it.
Moreover, the creature had greater physical strength than him, could fly, was larger in size, and had various means of attack.
He was indeed no match for it, and he couldn't afford to trade injuries like he did when fighting Kaido.
Xiaqiu had an idea, but it differed somewhat from his original plan.
He would try again and see how the opponent's stamina held up.
Xiaqiu charged toward the fire dragon once more.
