As night fell, the Surface of the Sea was calm, with moonlight casting bright shadows across its surface.
Two thousand meters beneath the Surface of the Sea, two figures kept their distance, warily observing each other.
One of the figures was a giant beast, approximately eighty meters long, covered in wounds. Its two sharp horns were broken, and a massive injury on its head exposed bone.
It had six legs, though two were twisted and deformed.
Six of its Tentacles were severed, leaving only two intact. The bony plates on its tail were shattered, presenting a pitiful sight.
In front of it stood a robust figure ten meters tall, one arm swollen and hanging limply. One of the sharp horns on its head was broken, and its body bore numerous scars.
At that moment, the giant beast was crouched over a massive Sea King, gnawing at its flesh and continuously swallowing the carcass.
The towering humanoid figure stood beside the Sea King's body, tearing off a chunk of bloody meat and chewing it voraciously.
The giant beast and the humanoid were none other than Xiaqiu and Kaido.
Since the battle began, twelve hours had passed.
After such an extended period of fierce combat, both had nearly exhausted their stamina; their Armament Haki was depleted, and their bodies were severely injured.
"We're currently at a stalemate."
Xiaqiu looked at Kaido, realizing that the scales were slowly beginning to tip.
Initially at a disadvantage and battered by Kaido's attacks, he had managed to turn the tide after changing tactics. While he sustained injuries, he had also managed to wound Kaido.
Now, although Xiaqiu's injuries remained serious, the continuous supply of flesh provided him with restorative energy.
This energy significantly reduced the severity of his wounds. While his recovery wasn't on par with his injuries, if this continued, Xiaqiu could gain the upper hand.
What set him apart from Kaido was the fact that his injuries could heal.
Kaido's subconscious was trying to avoid damage; he could tolerate losing a leg, but Kaido could not.
Even though Kaido was fearless and charged forward without hesitation, his subconscious still prioritized maintaining the integrity of his body above all else.
As a result, the intensity of Kaido's attacks had begun to significantly decrease due to exhaustion, the depletion of Armament Haki, and his injuries.
There was no need to rush; they continued to fight.
Xiaqiu had filled his stomach and did not engage immediately. Kaido sat there without launching an attack, twisting his left arm to pop the joints back into place, but it would be difficult for him to use that arm in the short term.
"You are impressive," Kaido said. "I have never seen anyone fight me to this extent using only their physical strength. Everyone else has relied on Devil Fruit abilities, but no one has allowed me to enjoy a battle like this."
"You are quite remarkable yourself," Xiaqiu replied, looking at him. "Such a formidable body."
If he were to consume such a powerful being as Kaido, how far could he evolve?
"Have you rested enough?" Kaido asked as he looked at Xiaqiu and stood up.
"Yes," Xiaqiu said slowly as he straightened up, gazing at Kaido. "Let's go."
Boom.
The two clashed once more and resumed their battle.
...
"Are you still down there?"
On the beach of the Deserted Island, Queen looked at the Fishman who appeared before her and said, "You all need to go down to investigate periodically and report back on the situation."
"Understood."
The Fishman immediately took his leave, while Queen's expression showed some surprise.
"Twelve hours."
Queen couldn't help but remark, "To be able to fight with Kaido for twelve hours, this beast is incredibly strong."
As Disasters, neither Front nor Kaido could sustain a battle for such a long time.
Yet the giant beast had already been fighting Kaido for twelve hours.
"It will be resolved sooner or later."
Ken yawned, stood up, and said, "I'm going to sleep. Call me if anything comes up."
"Alright."
Queen waved her hand and then divided the combat team. Six out of seven ships were dispatched, with two ships maintaining watch from a distance every eight hours.
At the same time, the Flying Troops also kept watch alongside the ships.
After completing all this, wings suddenly appeared on Queen's back. She soared up and landed on the Watchtower, folding her wings and remaining motionless.
...
"Kaido hasn't come up yet."
On the Deserted Island, Christmas and Nico Robin hid behind a space, watching the distant Sea Vessel.
The Beast Pirates' fleet returned to the Deserted Island after Ace and the others left. They anchored at the edge of the island, searched around, and most of them returned to the ship, but some remained resting at the island's edge.
Christmas and Nico Robin stayed on the Deserted Island, waiting for Xiaqiu's return. They had evaded the Beast Pirates' searches multiple times and were temporarily safe.
"Let's leave first," Christmas said, calling out to Nico Robin as they walked toward the distance together.
After advancing for a while, they reached a tree at the Foot of the Mountain. The space door opened, and Nico Robin leaned out, extending her hand.
Countless arms sprouted from the surrounding trees, spreading out into the distance.
"No, within a kilometer radius, there's no sign of them," Nico Robin reported. "And aside from the corpses, there are only a few beasts left."
"That's good," Christmas said as she opened the space door. The two stepped out and sat down under the tree to rest. "We really have to thank the Beast Pirates; they killed so many beasts on this island, which solves one trouble."
"Yeah," Nico Robin nodded, but her expression was filled with concern.
"Don't worry," Christmas patted Nico Robin's shoulder and said, "Kaido hasn't returned either; the captain will be fine."
"Mm."
Nico Robin nodded, but still held her hands tightly, unable to help but say, "But his opponent is Kaido."
"Yeah."
Christmas replied, "The Strongest Being in Land, Sea, and Air, Kaido. I wonder if the captain can win."
Both of them felt the heavy pressure at this thought.
Kaido's reputation was immense; many believed that with Whitebeard and several others gradually aging, Kaido was now the strongest in the world.
Thus, even though they both hoped for Xiaqiu's victory, reason told them that the hope was slim.
"Let's wait a bit longer."
Nico Robin said seriously, "I believe he will have a chance to win."
"Let's sleep."
Christmas looked at Nico Robin and asked, "Who will keep watch first?"
"I'll go first."
Nico Robin replied, "I'll wake you up in the second half of the night; it will be a good time to scout again."
"Okay."
Christmas nodded and slowly leaned over, resting her head on Nico Robin's lap. "Just borrowing your leg for a bit."
"Good night."
"Calmly," she said, closing her eyes.
"I hope this time Autumn can turn misfortune into good fortune."
Nico Robin sat there, gazing at the bright moonlight, her expression tinged with worry.
After parting ways with Xiaqiu, she felt anxious about him, fearing he might take some action that would provoke a crackdown. However, the information she received indicated that he had escaped.
But this time, Autumn was in danger, and the future was uncertain.
Nico Robin realized just how much she worried about him.
He must be safe.
