The banquet hosted by the Dragon Palace was lavish, with beautiful mermaids dancing, lovely mermaids playing instruments, and plump mermaids singing.
A variety of delicious food was prepared, including shellfish, fish meat, and Sea Beast.
However, neither King Neptune nor Shirahoshi ate the Sea Beast meat, and they hardly touched the fish at all.
This raised a question: mermaids rarely eat fish, as most can communicate with them. Among Fishmen, only a few do not eat fish, while most humans cannot communicate with them.
Xiaqiu was eating the meat of the Sea Beast but looked somewhat impatient as he glanced at Shirahoshi and asked, "What is it this time?"
"Mr. Xia, why do you still have Tentacles?"
Shirahoshi grabbed Xiaqiu's Tentacles and examined them closely, touching the claws on top. "It even has claws; these are Tentacles from a Giant Pacific Squid."
"They just grew out."
Xiaqiu took a bite of the Sea Beast meat and replied irritably, "You can put that down."
Shirahoshi held a slender Tentacle in her hand and gently stroked it.
"Alright then."
Shirahoshi set the Tentacle down and floated up slowly. "The dorsal fin of a shark—Mr. Xia, you're quite impressive."
"Just a little bit."
Xiaqiu snorted and said, "What a surprise."
"Wow, is this a bone plate? And there are spikes. Is this a tail? It's different from a fish tail. There are gills, but there's also a jet hole right here," Shirahoshi exclaimed as she circled around Xiaqiu in amazement.
"Don't touch me there."
Xiaqiu pushed Shirahoshi away with his tentacles, glaring at her in displeasure.
"Mr. Xia, Mr. Xia."
Shirahoshi suddenly floated in front of Xiaqiu and asked, "What exactly are you?"
"What am I?"
Xiaqiu looked at Shirahoshi.
Shirahoshi counted on her fingers and said, "You have a crocodile's mouth, but you're not a crocodile. You have spikes that resemble a Fighting Fish. Your forehead looks a bit like an Arowana. You have a shark's dorsal fin and six legs. It's really strange; I've never seen anything like it. It kind of resembles..."
"Resembles what?"
Xiaqiu asked curiously as he looked at Shirahoshi.
Shirahoshi thought for a moment and said, "I remember from mythology that dragons are made up of many parts. Could it be that Mr. Xia is a dragon?"
"Dragon? Oh, not bad."
Xiaqiu felt a surge of happiness at being called a dragon; that identity suited him well, especially as a Flood Dragon.
"Impossible, impossible."
Shirahoshi waved her hands and said, "You can't possibly be a dragon."
"Why can't I be?" Xiaqiu furrowed his brows and asked.
Shirahoshi placed one hand on her chest and laughed, "The one from the Dragon Palace is the real dragon. But according to the records, how could someone like you possibly be one? You're not good-looking at all."
At this point, Shirahoshi's expression froze, and Xiaqiu exploded in anger. "Are you saying I'm ugly?"
"N-no, that's not it."
Shirahoshi was startled, her body stiffening as she quickly added, "I didn't mean it that way, Mr. Xia. You... you are quite handsome too."
"You hesitated, didn't you?"
Xiaqiu glared at Shirahoshi, unable to tolerate the idea of being considered ugly.
"You believe I would eat you?"
Xiaqiu opened wide, revealing its sharp teeth.
"I'm sorry."
Shirahoshi said with a sorrowful face. Seeing Xiaqiu still angry, she pouted and began to cry, "I made Mr. Xia angry."
"Why are you crying again?"
Xiaqiu huffed at the sight and retracted its teeth. "Stop crying."
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have called you ugly."
Shirahoshi continued to wail.
"You..."
Xiaqiu was infuriated and snapped, "Stop crying!"
Shirahoshi froze for a moment, turned away, and started crying again. "I got scolded, Mr. Xia, please don't yell at me like that."
"You're really annoying."
Xiaqiu's teeth clicked together, and this fellow really loved to cry.
"Mr. Xia, Mr. Xia."
Shirahoshi patted Xiaqiu's forelimb, lifting her upper body to look into his eyes.
"What is it now?"
Xiaqiu asked her, puzzled.
Shirahoshi curiously inquired, "Mr. Xia, you came down from the land, right? You can live on land, can't you?"
"Of course, why?" Xiaqiu asked in confusion.
Shirahoshi eagerly asked, "Then have you seen all kinds of flowers? And all sorts of furry animals, and green forests?"
"I have," Xiaqiu replied. "Where I live, there are all kinds of flowers; I've seen just about every type. Also, on the Grand Line, many islands have animals. There's one island with tigers that are thirty meters long and giant wolves that are twenty meters long. On another island, there are dinosaurs. I've heard that on Doldrums, there's an island with animals hundreds of meters tall. In the New World, there's even an elephant with a city on its back."
"That's amazing."
Shirahoshi's eyes sparkled with excitement as she continued eagerly, "I really want to see that, but..."
"Go see if you want to."
Xiaqiu took a bite of meat and said irritably, "Now that Vander Decken IX is gone, you don't have to worry about him attacking you."
"That's not possible."
Shirahoshi shook her head vigorously, like a rattle drum, and said, "Humans on the ground are very hostile towards Fishmen, considering us monsters, so it's difficult for us to go to the surface."
"Is that so?"
Xiaqiu sighed and replied, "That's just how it is; humans always harbor hostility towards other races."
Not just towards other races; even among humans, there is mutual animosity.
"But how did Mr. Xia do it?" Shirahoshi asked.
"What do you mean by 'how did I do it'?" Xiaqiu asked in confusion.
"I mean, how do you interact with humans?"
Shirahoshi continued, "Mr. Xia, you have so many human subordinates, and your relationship seems quite good. How do you get along with them?"
"How do I get along with them?"
Xiaqiu thought for a moment and said, "You need to have enough strength to earn the respect of others."
"Is that so?" Shirahoshi's eyes immediately dimmed.
Although she was a Sea King, she had not yet triggered her abilities for the second time and could not control them freely.
Her own strength was very weak, and more importantly, her kindness would be her fatal weakness.
"Never mind about that."
Shirahoshi smiled and said, "Thank you, Mr. Xia, for helping to defeat Vander Decken IX. Now I can finally leave my home and go to the Sea Forest to pay respects to my mother."
"Sea Forest?"
Xiaqiu raised an eyebrow; the Noah was docked near the Sea Forest, wasn't it?
With Noah's Ark being half the length of Fishman Island, it would be enough to accommodate him.
Shirahoshi smiled and explained, "The Sea Forest is an underwater forest. Unlike forests on land, most of it consists of rocks and is located on the seabed in the northeast."
"Northeast?"
Xiaqiu nodded. He planned to visit before leaving; perhaps he could use Noah as his means of transportation in the future.
"Are you curious about Mr. Xia and Sea Forest?" Shirahoshi asked Xiaqiu.
Xiaqiu nodded, "A little curious."
"Then let's go together."
Shirahoshi immediately said, "I plan to visit my mother tomorrow morning; I'll take you to see her."
"Okay."
Xiaqiu thought for a moment and nodded.
He wanted to check the buoyancy device of Noah to see if it could only be pulled by Sea Kings or if it could float on its own.
