Chapter 187: Devouring and Departure
In the following days, Xiaqiu remained aboard the Terrifying Three-Masted Ship, feasting on the corpse of OZ.
"Crunch, crunch."
Xiaqiu gnawed at OZ's body, tearing off a large chunk of arm flesh, chewing it vigorously before swallowing and continuing to devour, completely consuming the right arm.
On the first day, Xiaqiu ate OZ's head and neck; on the second and third days, he consumed his chest and Heart.
On the fourth day, he finished off the right arm; that last meal had completely taken in the entire limb.
It was too massive.
OZ's body measured over eighty meters long and weighed around three to four hundred tons.
Xiaqiu could manage to consume about fifty tons at a time.
However, after eating around two hundred tons, he had reached his limit.
Without the protection of shadows, the decomposition of the corpse accelerated, and now it was no longer possible to continue feeding.
"Forget it."
Xiaqiu slowly made his way back along the path he had come. Before long, the flesh in his stomach transformed into Heat Flow.
Splash.
The Heat Flow coursed throughout its body, radiating intense warmth.
Most of the Heat Flow concentrated in the head, where two white horns emerged, curving downward and then forward, each over a meter long and about thirty centimeters thick at the base.
The energy provided by OZ was abundant, primarily composed of Evolutionary Energy.
The evolved structures were the horns on its head.
Originally, after Xiaqiu consumed a Triceratops, two bumps had appeared on its head, right at the locations where the horns would grow, but no actual horns had formed.
However, after devouring OZ, Xiaqiu sprouted horns that curved slightly inward before extending forward.
The one-meter-long horns felt somewhat short for Xiaqiu now, but it had already considered the possibility of growth.
The horns served a significant purpose.
With the growth of the horns, the impact force became more concentrated.
They could penetrate harder objects more easily, especially since its horns were made of bone, similar in hardness to its own bones and surpassing that of iron.
Such a pair of horns could effortlessly pierce through massive rocks.
As for dealing with enormous targets like Sea Kings or Battleships, the horns could easily penetrate them and then use the lower part to strike.
Xiaqiu was quite satisfied with its horns. If it were to grow them naturally, consuming Triceratops would likely take around two months.
However, there weren't that many Triceratops available; throughout the entire Ancient Island, it had only consumed a little over ten and had developed just two bumps.
"President."
Xiaqiu returned to the original spot and saw Heckler standing there, draped in a trench coat.
"How are you doing now?" Xiaqiu asked him.
Heckler rubbed his arm and said, "It will take some time to fully recover, but I can walk freely now."
"That's good to hear."
Xiaqiu nodded and then said, "Let's get ready to leave."
Xiaqiu gathered Ace, Heckler, and Hogback and headed to the Harbor.
Perona had servants bring several boxes of Treasure, while Hogback also brought a number of tools and a corpse.
"I'm sorry, but none of these things can be taken on the ship," Ace said from the shore.
"Nothing at all?"
Perona stood there, sorrowfully asking, "Do we have to throw away all this Treasure?"
Hogback added, "I still have my medical tools here."
Ace shrugged and replied, "My ship is already struggling to carry us; we can't take any extra items."
"But there are other boats here."
Perona pointed into the distance and said, "We can use another Sea Vessel."
"That would attract attention," Heckler replied from the ship. "We're wanted criminals, so we can only stay here."
"Alright then," Perona thought as she jumped onto the ship.
However, Hogback glanced at Treasure and then at the corpse in his arms. "But I must take this with me."
"What is that?" Ace asked, looking at the corpse.
Hogback replied, "This is Cyndori. I have to take her away."
"Fine," Ace said, aware of Cyndori's situation. "Take her with you."
Hogback brought Cyndori's body onto the ship, and Ace activated the Vessel. Flames ignited as they departed.
Behind them, Xiaqiu jumped into the water, closely following behind.
Once they left, many people surged near the Harbor.
"They're gone; we can leave now."
"Prepare the Vessel, we set sail together."
"We're leaving."
These individuals were controlled pirates and servants, confined here just in case, only able to leave once they departed.
Moreover, the number of Sea Vessels was limited; there were only two intact Pirate Ships, making it impossible for everyone to leave.
Thus, some people boarded the ships to depart, while others had no choice but to control the Terror Three-Masted Ship's helm and navigate out of this sea area.
Regardless of what they did, the news would spread, especially with the appearance of the Terror Three-Masted Ship, which would undoubtedly disturb the world...
"Shockingly, Shichibukai Moonlight Moria has been killed, and the murderer is..."
"The Devil's Triangle revealed; the reason behind hundreds of disappearances each year is..."
"Ace and Heckler have killed Moria; uncovering Baroque Works."
One by one, these headlines spread across newspapers, leaving everyone astonished at the news.
Shichibukai, recognized by the World Government as great pirates, all held immense prestige.
To think such a powerful pirate could be killed.
Moreover, the killer was none other than Baroque Works, which had previously been eradicated by the Navy.
Not only that, but Moria had conducted experiments on people, creating a massive Zombie army of thousands.
The news spread across the world in an instant, becoming the hottest topic of the moment.
“Aokiji, look at the mess you've created.”
At Naval Headquarters, Sengoku glared at Aokiji, who was sitting on the sand, his expression extremely grim.
“I didn’t expect them to go after Moria and even kill him,” Aokiji said, a hint of distress in his voice.
Sengoku replied coldly, “This is retaliation against us, Aokiji. This is the consequence of your reckless actions.”
Aokiji sighed. “It’s my subordinate’s failure.”
“The main issue is that they have exposed Moria’s misdeeds.”
Sengoku looked at the reports coming in from various places. “Many are discussing the wrongdoings of the Shichibukai.”
“What should we do next?” Aokiji asked Sengoku.
Sengoku said, “The Elders believe this situation is very serious. We must capture Ace and investigate the connection to Whitebeard. Therefore, we need to pursue Ace, set up a blockade at Sabaody Archipelago to prevent them from heading to the New World, and then surround them.”
“I will take charge of this matter.”
Aokiji stood up; this was his responsibility, and he had to see it through.
Sengoku waved his hand. “Leave this matter to Sakazuki.”
“Hmm?”
Aokiji looked at Sengoku with some surprise.
"He came to apply as soon as he received the information, leaving without waiting for my approval."
Sengoku said, "He will personally capture Fire Fist Ace and put an end to them."
"It seems like Demon Spider Vice Admiral has a good relationship with him, right?" Aokiji asked. "Is it because of him?"
Sengoku shook his head. "That's not the reason. He gave me a bold idea, but managing this situation is difficult. Sakazuki may not be able to find Ace and the others."
