Chapter One Hundred Eighty-Five: Defeat
Moria stood at a distance, waving his right hand as countless bats soared into the air, rushing towards Ace.
Faced with these shadows, a faint yellow glow enveloped Ace, colliding with the bats.
With a whoosh, the shadows ignited in flames, but as soon as they burned, they transformed into ink, falling to the ground and becoming shadows once more.
However, once the flames subsided, the shadows lunged at him again, ready to attack.
"Over here?"
Ace sprinted away to evade the shadow's assault but suddenly turned around and kicked back.
"Battle Axe."
Ace's right leg transformed into a massive axe, sweeping through the air where Moria's figure was slowly becoming visible.
"Kekekeke, have I been discovered?"
Moria chuckled and immediately shifted his form, exchanging places with a shadow and appearing inside the mansion.
"He's run away again?"
Ace's expression darkened. The opponent's abilities were too troublesome; while he could interact with the shadows when they left their host, he couldn't completely eliminate them.
Moreover, Moria could change forms, while Ace couldn't touch him.
Most importantly, he was unable to unleash his full power.
Not far away, the Heckler realized that his own excessive manipulation of flames could harm him.
The President was in a similar situation; even though he possessed Haki, he couldn't cover his entire body with it, and Haki consumed energy. Continuous use would lead to constant depletion.
In other words, Ace was unable to exert his full strength.
Otherwise, with just a single release of Flame Emperor, he could scorch the entire island, and there would be no issue with Moria.
But just as Moria's figure appeared in the room,
Boom.
A massive figure crashed through the wall and collided with him.
Thud.
Moria was sent flying, crashing against the wall and spitting out a mouthful of blood.
Boom, boom, boom.
Xiaqiu charged directly at Moria, opening its large mouth to bite at his head.
However, in that instant, Moria immediately activated his transformation ability.
Shadow Swap.
Whoosh.
Xiaqiu bit into Moria's shadow while Moria emerged from the shadow's position.
But just as he materialized, a smiling face suddenly appeared before him. "Moria, I've been waiting for you."
"Eh?"
Moria was slightly taken aback as Ace's arm was already raised, delivering a powerful punch.
Boom.
The fist struck Moria, engulfing him in flames.
"Ah!"
Moria let out a sharp scream, forced to move his body away once more, but what appeared before him was a massive, gaping mouth.
Crunch.
Xiaqiu bit down on Moria, its enormous jaws tearing through his body, and the Haki coating its teeth prevented him from switching places with his shadow.
"Damn it."
Moria's expression turned to one of regret, but Xiaqiu had already ripped off half of his body, blood spilling out and innards scattered across the ground.
"It's over."
Xiaqiu watched as Moria succumbed to death and directly exited the building.
In the distance, OZ had collapsed heavily to the ground, while Ace raised his hand, preparing to burn him with flames.
"Ace, stop."
Xiaqiu immediately said, "I need his corpse."
OZ, the strongest warrior of the Demon Clan five hundred years ago, possessed the power to move islands. He died from the cold but was preserved in ice.
Although the years had passed and the energy within him was waning, there was still a significant amount left.
He stood tall, taller than an ordinary Giant Clan member, and his Evolutionary Energy was not lacking.
He possessed immense strength, which surely contained some Enhanced Energy as well.
Xiaqiu planned to consume him to see what improvements it would bring.
"Alright."
Ace retracted his arm, and Xiaqiu looked into the distance, saying, "Ace, carry Heckler and go find someone. He’s in another mansion to the left ahead and is about to leave. Get him to help Heckler."
"Understood."
Ace immediately lifted Heckler onto his back, and Heckler reduced his weight to one kilogram, feeling as light as a feather.
Ace set off with Heckler right away, but Xiaqiu did not follow.
"I have one more thing to do," Xiaqiu thought as he sprinted away into the distance.
...
The death of Moria caused all the imprisoned shadows to return to their original owners.
In the distance, on a dilapidated Three-Masted Ship, a skeleton rose to its feet and looked at its arms. "Oh ho ho, my shadow has returned."
"Moria has been defeated?"
Brook gazed into the distance where the shadows of the Three-Masted Ship flickered in and out. He softly said, "Whoever you are, thank you."
“Anyway, my relationship with Lord Moria is merely a partnership. Now that he has lost, it shouldn't be a problem for me to leave, right?” Perona arrived at the back door of the mansion on the island, instructing her subordinates to move the treasure toward the Sea Vessel.
“Almost done.”
Perona glanced back at the mansion engulfed in flames, preparing to board the ship.
But just as she was about to step onto the vessel, there was a loud crash as the Sea Vessel was smashed to pieces, exploding in mid-air.
“Huh?”
Perona paused for a moment, only to see a massive figure emerging from the sea, glaring at her with ferocity.
“It’s that beast.”
Fear gripped Perona as she recognized it; this giant creature could reach her ghostly doppelgangers.
She had just fought it moments ago and had been struck hard, leaving her physically injured.
Of course, she hadn’t split off any doppelgangers yet; her real body was right here. If it got touched, she would die.
“But…”
Perona raised her hands, sending waves of ghosts toward Xiaqiu.
“Negative Ghosts.”
Facing the oncoming spirits, Xiaqiu opened its massive jaws and lunged forward to bite.
Crunch, crunch.
All the ghosts were crushed by Xiaqiu.
"This, how is this possible?"
Perona looked on in astonishment. Her negative spirit was supposed to be invincible, capable of harming even animals, so why did it have no effect on it?
"Run."
Perona turned and sprinted deeper into the island, getting further away with each step.
"Isn't anyone chasing me?"
Not hearing any footsteps behind her, Perona pushed herself to run even faster.
However, after running for several dozen meters, a loud thud echoed as a massive figure appeared beside her.
"Huh?"
Perona jumped at the sudden appearance of the giant beast.
But the beast turned its head and opened its enormous mouth, lunging toward her.
The gigantic maw loomed over Perona, its terrifying teeth glinting ominously. The light around her seemed to be sucked away, and a wave of dreadful pressure bore down on her, gradually squeezing her spirit.
Ah!
Perona could no longer hold on; her eyes rolled back as she fainted on the ground.
Xiaqiu's mouth stopped and slowly closed. The Conqueror's Haki combined with the attack had scared Perona into unconsciousness.
This person cannot be killed.
As one of the few possessors of a bug ability in the world of One Piece, her power is truly terrifying.
Ace still needs a partner, and she perfectly fills that role.
Especially considering the opponent in her future plans, who also has formidable subordinates.
It remains to be seen who will come out on top.
Xiaqiu thought as she lifted her first left claw, grasping it, and then raised it while walking away with the other five legs.
