Chapter One Hundred Seventy-Three: One Minute
On July 1st, Drum Kingdom.
This day marked the coronation of the new king, Queen Bola of Volcano Kingdom, who would become the new ruler of Drum Kingdom.
The citizens of the entire kingdom had very mixed feelings about this event.
They had to accept her rule and hoped she would lead the kingdom to greatness.
However, their lack of understanding about Bola and the unexpected election results left them with some reservations.
Nevertheless, two things helped ease their resistance.
The first was that Dalton would become the Minister of General Affairs, responsible for administration, civil service, election information, and other crucial duties within an extremely important department.
The second was that Princess Vivi of Alabasta had arrived in Drum Kingdom and was present at Bola's inauguration ceremony.
"Princess Vivi, this way please."
Dalton approached Vivi and gestured for her to take her seat.
"Thank you."
Vivi expressed her gratitude before sitting down.
"I can't believe Princess Vivi actually came."
Dalton still felt a bit surprised. Two days ago, Bola had taken him to the palace of Alabasta, hoping to reach an agreement and invite them to the Drum Kingdom.
Dalton thought this move was somewhat reckless; there were many gaps between the two nations, and the issues at hand could not be resolved overnight.
However, what was unexpected was Cobra's extremely respectful attitude towards Bola. He seemed a bit reserved but immediately promised to increase trade with the Drum Kingdom in the future.
When Bola invited them to attend the ceremony, Cobra sent his daughter here.
Over the past two days, the two often gathered to chat and drink tea. They did not discuss political matters excessively or engage in the usual politeness of politicians; it felt more like a pair of friends.
This was a good start. Coupled with the reconciliation with Alabasta Kingdom, Dalton's perception of Bola improved significantly.
Let's do it.
Whatever ideas came to mind, he acted on them immediately, without any airs like a queen.
At least the beginning was promising; hopefully, it could continue. If not, no matter how beautiful you are or how sexy your figure is, I will stop you.
Dalton thought as he stood at the door, welcoming all the guests arriving at the mountaintop.
These guests included village chiefs from various villages in the Drum Kingdom, wealthy merchants from those villages, representatives from different industries, and notable figures like Kureha.
In terms of guest status, aside from Princess Vivi, there were indeed some lesser-known individuals—but who cared about that when it came to the nation?
Dalton welcomed everyone into the hall, and before long, the Coronation Ceremony began.
"From now on, Bola will become the king of Drum Kingdom."
After a moment, Dalton placed the crown upon Bola's head and handed her the scepter.
Bola grasped the scepter, standing there with an excited expression.
Finally, she had become the queen.
From this day forward, she would be the supreme ruler of this nation, the sovereign of her own kingdom.
Bola's heart surged with emotion, but as she looked down at her people, she suppressed her desires.
This was her country; they were willing to follow her, and she must not let them down.
Bola raised her right hand, holding the scepter, and declared, "From now on, Drum Kingdom will be renamed Sakura Kingdom. I will lead our nation towards prosperity and strength."
Applause erupted, and Bola felt a surge of joy within her.
Dalton watched Bola, who now wore the crown and a splendid red robe, exuding an air of nobility.
Her long blue hair cascaded over her shoulders, complementing the red and adding a sense of calmness.
The contours of her alluring figure were accentuated by the garment, giving off an enchanting aura.
It was quite beautiful.
Dalton coughed and said, "Please have the king announce the appointments and dismissals of the ministers."
Bola nodded and began to assign responsibilities.
The Sakura Kingdom didn't have many people, just a few dozen villages with a small population.
However, this number wasn't particularly low; cities like Alabasta with millions or even tens of millions of inhabitants were quite rare in the world.
Among these people, Dalton served as the Minister of General Affairs, Elken was the Captain of the Royal Guard, and Christmas was the Vice Captain of the Guard. One of the doctors held the position of Minister of Health.
In addition, there were a few others responsible for the economy and infrastructure, but overall, the number was not very large.
The inauguration ceremony was nearing its end by noon, and they headed to the banquet hall to hold a feast.
Just as the banquet was about to conclude, a figure rushed towards Bola, panting heavily. "Your Majesty, it's bad news. Wapol has returned."
"What? Wapol has returned?" Dalton asked in surprise.
"The former king has come back?"
A resident of Sakura Kingdom's expression turned tense, and other attendees at the banquet also looked anxious.
"Returned? Then we will deal with it."
Bola stretched lazily, completely unconcerned.
Vivi walked over, her eyes filled with curiosity.
Bola said, "Wapol is back."
Vivi smiled and replied, "Isn't that the one who was driven away in the past?"
"That's right."
Bola nodded and said, "I'm going to change clothes. Dalton, Elken, Christmas, come with me."
"Queen Bora, you are a ruler; there's no need for you to deal with some pirates. We three can handle it," Dalton interjected.
"He was the former king, and I am the current king."
Bola said coldly, "He once abused my people, so of course I must deal with him myself."
"Then I will wait here for your return, Your Majesty," Vivi said with a smile.
...
"Hahaha, I'm back!"
A massive Pirate Ship slowly approached the shore, having just emerged from the depths of the ocean, and was spotted by the vigilant villagers.
"Valpo is back."
"This is bad. The kingdom is holding a coronation ceremony, and Dalton, along with Your Majesty's people, cannot come here."
As the villagers panicked, the Guard Room of Port Village quickly retrieved a Transponder Snail and made a call, relaying the message to the villagers that they must avoid conflict with Wapol.
"Hurry, hurry! I want to become the king of this country again."
Wapol stood on the deck, directing his soldiers to disembark. Not only that, but he also brought along a gigantic Hippopotamus, all of which were brought ashore.
Once prepared, Wapol led his escort toward the castle.
However, before they could leave the ship's cabin, four or five enormous Hippopotamuses suddenly appeared in the distance, with several people seated atop them.
"Is that Dalton?"
Seeing the person at the forefront, Valpo paused for a moment before bursting into laughter. "Dalton, are you here to welcome me?"
"Welcome you? No, I am here to expel you from this country."
Dalton replied coldly. "But it shouldn't be me who takes action today."
"Ah?"
Wapol tilted his head and looked to the side, furrowing his brow. "Who are they? Why do they look somewhat familiar?"
"I am King Bola of Sakura Kingdom."
Bola jumped down from the Hippopotamus and stood in front of Wapol, coldly stating, "Today you invaded my country, and I will punish you for it."
"Hahaha, your country? That's truly laughable."
Wapol chuckled. "You think you can punish me? Go ahead and try."
A minute later, Wapol and his subordinates lay on the ground.
Dozens of guards trembled nearby, while Doctor 0 stood there, at a loss, unsure of who these people were and how they had so easily defeated Wapol.
Bola looked at them and said, "Today I give you a chance: join Sakura Kingdom and become my subordinates. Otherwise, don't think about surviving."
"We are willing."
The guards exchanged glances with Doctor 0 and immediately replied.
"Christmas, you stay here to deal with the bodies. We are heading back."
Bola flicked his cloak and jumped onto the Hippopotamus before making his way toward the castle.
Meanwhile, in Port Village, some hidden villagers emerged, cheering loudly.
The one who had ruled over them for eight years, Wapol, was defeated by the newly appointed king, Bola.
Today was her Coronation Ceremony, yet she chose to take matters into her own hands.
Taking on three opponents at once, she easily dispatched Vaporjess and Kromalimong.
Only a powerful king could protect this nation.
The villagers began to recognize Bola more, their initial resistance fading away.
In the distance, Christmas directed people to load the pirates' bodies onto the ship as they set sail towards the horizon.
These bodies were to be delivered to the president.
