Chapter 164: The Battle Begins
Magu Town, located on Gaya Island, is a gathering place for pirates in the Grand Line. Many pirates come here to rest and recuperate after their plundering.
The town is bustling with activity, featuring numerous bars, skilled shipwrights, and luxurious resorts, all thriving on the spending of pirates.
"So many Pirate Ships," Octopus Fishman Eight remarked in surprise as he gazed at the scene around him while a ship slowly entered the harbor.
"This is a pirate haven," Christmas observed, glancing around before adding, "But there's no need to worry; they are quite weak."
Currently, all Senior Agents of Baroque Works can handle pirates with bounties exceeding fifty million.
Christmas's strength was initially somewhat lacking, but after acquiring the Gate-Gate Fruit, he was now capable of such feats.
Baroque Works was well-acquainted with this pirate stronghold not far from Alabasta, having frequently undertaken missions here.
The strongest pirates residing here had bounties ranging from thirty-five million to fifty million at most.
"Let's go," Ace said as he jumped onto the shore with a smile. "Time to find Whitebeard."
"Wait a moment," Christmas replied as he pulled out a Transponder Snail. "I’ll contact our informants to track their positions before we go looking for them. I also need to call the boss and update him on the situation here."
"Do we still need to inform your president?"
Ace nodded, helplessly saying, "He really is too controlling."
"We must devise a perfect plan," Christmas replied coldly. "Because we need to ensure that we can save your friend and capture the person you want. There can be no mistakes."
"You're right."
Thinking of Nami still in the enemy's hands, Ace nodded and said, "Then I'll leave it to you, Trouble."
In a bar in Magu Town, a burly figure sat there, eating heartily. After swallowing his food, he said, "Nami, the Cherry Pie here is quite good. Aren't you going to have some?"
"I'm not hungry."
Nami rested her chin on her hand, sitting there with a somewhat dejected expression as she looked around.
It had been nearly three months since she was captured, forced to join them and act alongside them.
She didn't know who would come to rescue her.
Nami believed someone would definitely come for her because her father despised anyone who harmed his companions. And since Whitebeard had taken her away, her father would surely be furious.
Sipping her drink, Nami felt a sense of loneliness.
At that moment, two pirates approached her, one of them a tall and thin pirate who smiled and said, "Hehehe, what a beautiful girl. Why do you look so unhappy?"
"Yeah, why not have some fun with this big shot?"
Another plump figure shouted.
As she looked at the two figures, a faint, unpleasant odor wafted toward Nami, causing her to show a hint of disgust. Just as she was about to refuse, the taller pirate said, "We are members of the Haidar Pirates."
"Haidar Pirates?" Nami raised an eyebrow.
The chubby pirate chuckled, "Of course! Our captain, Lord Haidar, has a bounty of eighteen million."
"Oh? Is that so?"
Hearing that number, Nami shook her head in resignation. Eighteen million? That seemed rather weak.
"So, miss, why not come with us... ah..."
The two figures froze for a moment before slowly collapsing to the ground, dead as can be.
Behind them, a figure casually flicked the long sword in his hand before sheathing it back into his cane and walking over with a look of disdain. "Captain, why are you here? The environment is quite terrible."
"Is it? I quite like the Cherry Pie here," Whitebeard replied with a hearty laugh. "Lafitte, don't you want to try some?"
"No thanks."
Lafitte walked a short distance away and looked at Whitebeard, saying, "We've been here for quite a while. I wonder what the captain thinks of my proposal?"
"Your plan is good," Whitebeard nodded. "But this is a serious matter, and I need to think it over."
Lafitte replied, "Captain, what more do you need to think about? Hody's rebellion forces are enormous, and the King's Army of Fishman Island is simply no match. The Sun Pirates will definitely get involved. If we make some moves and secretly eliminate Jinbei, then once Hody takes over Fishman Island, we can approach the World Government to request intervention. With our inside and outside cooperation, we can smoothly obtain the position of Seven Warlords of the Sea."
Whitebeard said lightly, "Fishman Island is my territory. I've already angered him once. If he finds out I'm meddling, he won't hold back. The trouble could be immense, so we need to plan carefully and ensure everything is foolproof before proceeding."
"Then we'll wait a bit longer," Lafitte nodded and then turned his gaze to Nami beside him, narrowing his eyes as he asked, "But I don't understand why the captain still keeps her around?"
Lafitte was also a navigator but had joined after capturing Nami. Since she refused to cooperate, Lafitte took on the role of navigator.
Of course, Lafitte was quite powerful himself; he was not just a navigator but could also fly, was skilled in hypnosis, and excelled in swordsmanship, making him an important member of Whitebeard's Pirate Crew.
"Lafitte, you're an excellent navigator, but you have to admit she's better than you," Whitebeard said with a smile.
Lafitte snorted and replied, "But there's no need for useless people to exist."
Upon hearing this, Whitebeard's smile faded from his face. "So my patience is running thin."
Their conversation sent chills down Nami's spine, but just then, Whitebeard suddenly leaped backward.
Boom.
A massive flame crashed down heavily at the spot he had just occupied, followed by a loud explosion. The fire raged fiercely, and as it subsided, a figure slowly emerged.
"Ace?"
Whitebeard's expression darkened upon seeing the figure, and he then glanced not far away. "Is there someone else?"
Not far off, a door in the air opened, and Nami stepped inside.
"Trying to escape?"
Lafitte snorted coldly, drawing his sword from his cane. White wings appeared on his back as he lunged toward Nami, thrusting his blade forward.
Clang.
A crisp sound rang out as a sword blocked Lafitte's attack. A voice echoed, "I won't allow you to harm Nami."
"Eight?"
Nami exclaimed in surprise. The owner of the sword was Octopus Eight. He glanced at Nami and shouted loudly, "Quickly take Nami away!"
"Let's go."
Christmas grabbed Nami and entered the Interdimensional Space, slowly disappearing afterward.
"It's Fire Fist Ace."
“Whitebeard, Second Division Captain.”
“Run!”
The people around saw the raging flames and hurriedly fled outside.
“Whitebeard, you betrayed Dad, killed our crewmates, and plundered from them.”
Ace looked at Whitebeard and said coldly, “I’m taking you back now to face punishment.”
“Oh really?”
Whitebeard clenched his fist and replied, “Then let’s see you try.”
