Chapter One Hundred Fifteen: Arrangements
"I never expected that Issa11sunday is the famous Nico Robin." On Leisure Island, Feng Kelei sat in front of Nico Robin, staring at her for a moment before leaning back, his expression filled with curiosity. "You defeated Six Navy Battleships as Eight and earned the title of Demon Child. I can't believe you're our Vice President. And now you've killed Crocodile—truly impressive."
Nico Robin smiled and said, "It seems my identity has been exposed."
"That's nothing. The stronger you are, Nico Robin, the better," Feng Kelei replied with a grin. "If the Vice President of Baroque Works is this strong, how powerful must R be? This actually puts us at ease."
"R is much stronger than I am."
Nico Robin chuckled as she glanced at Xiaqiu, who was lying in the distance, unable to suppress her amusement.
"By the way, Nico Robin, was killing the Seven Warlords of the Sea a mission given to you by the president?" Feng Kelei asked, his gaze fixed on her.
Nico Robin nodded. "That's right. Crocodile obstructed our plans."
"But he's one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea! Just like that, he was killed."
Feng Kelei sighed. "My subordinates and I can hardly believe it."
Nico Robin curiously asked, "What do they think?"
"What do they think?"
Feng Kelei laughed. "They are incredibly excited that you were able to kill Crocodile; they believe Baroque Works is worth following."
"Really?"
Nico Robin finished her coffee in one gulp, licked her lips, and smiled. "Alright, Feng, it's getting late. There's a task I need you to handle."
Feng Kelei asked curiously, "Nico Robin, what kind of task?"
Nico Robin replied slowly, "I need you to disguise yourself as someone else and go to the Carrera Company in Water Seven to order a submarine."
"A submarine?"
Feng Kelei rested his chin on his right hand. "I've heard of them but have never seen one."
Nico Robin took a piece of paper from her pocket. "The requirements are written here. Take it with you to the Carrera Company. Be sure to hide your identity; you must not reveal who you are. You will also be the one to pick it up, and the money is in the box."
"But I don't know how to operate a submarine."
Feng Kelei took the paper and said with some concern, "The problem is how to bring it back to you."
Nico Robin smiled. "You don't need to worry about that. When you place the order, you can leave two people behind for training."
"Okay."
Feng Kelei tucked the paper away and looked at Nico Robin. "I will complete this task well."
"Then I shall take my leave."
Nico Robin stood up and walked outside, with Feng Kelei following closely behind.
As they exited the building, Nico Robin glanced back at Leisure Island. The massive Umbrella that once crowned it was now replaced by a goose head.
After the death of Galdino, this place had become Feng Kelei's base.
"Alright, Feng, I'm leaving now."
Nico Robin approached the Bingqi and jumped onto it.
"Nico Robin, the Navy is after you. Please be careful," Feng Kelei said with concern.
"I will."
Nico Robin nodded, settled onto the Bingqi, and set off towards the horizon.
Boom.
The giant beast slowly rose to its feet and entered the ocean, drifting further away.
"It's truly enormous."
Feng Kelei looked at the giant beast and sighed, not recognizing that this creature had attacked him two years ago.
"Feng is the agent I have the best relationship with in Baroque Works, and he is very trustworthy. Although he can be quite eccentric, he is the only one I can rely on."
Back on the island, Nico Robin said with some frustration, "We still don't have enough manpower. Baroque Works is filled with assassins, and it's hard to trust them."
"We can train them."
Xiaqiu wrote a few words on the ground.
"Yes, we do need to cultivate some members for other purposes," Nico Robin agreed, already having a few ideas in mind.
Xiaqiu wrote again: "What’s next?"
Seeing the writing, Nico Robin smiled and replied, "Next, I need to meet with a few other agents to gauge their attitude towards me. If everything goes well, I plan to send Heckler to Alabasta to infiltrate the guard and gather information on the location of the Historical Text. As long as I know where it is, I’ll have a way to investigate."
Infiltrate the guard?
Xiaqiu shook her head. Vivi and Ikaram had joined Baroque Works two years before the original story began. By now, they were already part of Baroque Works.
Neither she nor Ikaram were even Intermediate Agents, but in two years' time, they would be operating out of Whiskey Hill Town.
Heckler was an R5, the last Senior Agent to join Baroque Works at Whiskey Peak; almost everyone had seen him.
He would definitely expose himself if he went.
Xiaqiu could only write, "There are too many people who know him."
"You're not wrong."
Upon seeing this, Nico Robin recalled the scene when he joined the organization and realized that the Historical Text was indeed significant. She then said, "Then let's send someone else."
Xiaqiu nodded and wrote, "What about the original plan?"
"The original plan?"
Nico Robin thought of Crocodile's already executed coup plan, and now Alabasta had been suffering from drought for almost a year due to the effects of Dance Powder.
Nico Robin frowned; she could carry out this plan herself, and there might still be a chance.
"Let's forget it; the plan is too complicated. Without absolute strength, we can't control the subsequent developments."
Nico Robin said, "Besides, the risks are too great. I'm not interested in Alabasta; it's better to find a simpler way to obtain the Historical Text."
"Mm."
Xiaqiu nodded. He didn't want Nico Robin to be distracted by thoughts of Alabasta, which held little value and posed a high risk.
Xiaqiu wrote, "What about r1?"
"He's a problem," Nico Robin replied, furrowing her brows. "I have a handle on the others in Baroque Works, but r1 joined before me and has always been r1. I don't know what his connection is to the creation of Baroque Works. His abilities counter mine, and he's hard to track, so..."
"Kill him."
Xiaqiu scribbled a few words on the ground.
"Let's wait and see; after all, he is a powerful asset."
Nico Robin said softly, "I'll lure him out and test him. If..."
At this point, Nico Robin looked at Xiaqiu.
"Leave it to me."
Xiaqiu immediately wrote back, but the outcome was already determined.
The content of your test would surely aim to shift the way orders are given.
However, he already had an established method of communication and action; any reckless changes would inevitably raise suspicion.
By that time, he would attack and devour him.
R1 was a Devil Fruit User, whose abilities required a powerful body to match, and he had trained through rigorous practice.
His strength could strike from a distance, and his blade became sharp enough to cut through buildings behind Zoro when blocked.
His physical capabilities were not necessarily inferior to Crocodile's.
R1 contained a lot of Enhanced Energy, and he was indeed a threat.
So in his heart, Xiaqiu had marked him as a target for elimination.
Next, it was just a matter of waiting for R1 to meet Nico Robin and kill Daz Bonis.
