Chapter Eighty-Five: Intermediate Agent
The fishing boat from Whiskey Hill Town was crewed by nearly ten Bounty Hunters, in addition to R11 and Wednesday. All of these Bounty Hunters were Millionaires.
In Baroque Works, the highest positions were held by the President and Vice President, followed by Senior Agents, and then Intermediate Agents.
There were five Senior Agents and more than eight Intermediate Agents.
Among them, there were two hundred Billionaires led by the Senior Agents, while one thousand eight hundred Millionaires were led by the Intermediate Agents.
Only when there were vacancies among the agents would the Billionaires be prioritized for replenishment.
On the entire ship, there were about ten Millionaires. Their abilities were average, but they were significantly stronger than ordinary people.
The vessel departed from Whiskey Hill and sailed into the vast ocean.
After advancing for a while, dark clouds gathered ahead, with lightning flashing within them. R11 shouted loudly, "Quickly steer clear; we must avoid entering the thunderstorm area."
"Understood."
The helmsman quickly turned the wheel, skirting around the storm zone and heading toward the distance.
"Wow, that was dangerous! When will we ever get a break from missions?" Wednesday lamented, dressed in a frog suit.
"That will only happen once our ranks improve a bit," R11 replied with a shake of his head. "After all, we are just Intermediate Agents."
Intermediate Agents, also known as Pioneer Agents, were responsible for raising funds for Baroque Works.
Senior Agents, on the other hand, executed high-end missions.
Wednesday waved her firearm and said, "But when will we be able to improve our ranks? We have to set sail every month to prepare food; it's dangerous and we never get a chance to achieve anything."
"Don't worry. Opportunities will come," R11 said with narrowed eyes, seemingly plotting something.
The sea vessel had successfully navigated past the stormy area and entered a calmer stretch of ocean.
"That's enough," R11 shouted. "Stop the ship and prepare the bait."
"Understood," the bounty hunters replied, hauling a pig and a cow out from the hold. They dragged the pig to the side of the ship, near the harpoon area, where pulleys were attached to long iron chains and massive fish hooks. The bounty hunters hung the pig on the iron hook, made several cuts on its body, and tossed it into the water.
The pig, bound at its limbs and already on the brink of death, began to struggle again as blood flowed from its wounds, spreading through the sea.
"We need this to work; we only brought four livestock, which gives us four chances, but we must at least catch one fish," R11 said, standing at the edge of the ship.
The others were tense with anticipation, quietly waiting for a fish to take the bait.
Before long, the water began to ripple as a massive shadow approached.
"Too big! Lower the pig!" R11 shouted upon seeing the enormous silhouette below.
If such a fish were truly hooked, it could drag the entire pirate ship under.
With a splash, two bounty hunters pulled up the pig while two others climbed onto the iron hook. Each took a knife and sliced into the sides of the pig's ribs, allowing it to slide naturally into the water.
With a snap, a giant fish seized the carcass and swam away into the depths.
Seeing this, R11 let out a sigh of relief and said, "Steer in another direction; we'll continue in an hour."
The sea vessel continued its journey, moving into a new area before dropping the fishing line again, this time with a Cow's Corpse as bait.
Boom.
Before long, a massive shadow surged toward them once more.
"It's here! This sea fish is thirty meters long and can be caught. Get ready!" R11 shouted loudly.
Crack.
The sea fish bit down on the hook, immediately snagging itself on the sharp barb, but that wasn't enough.
The fish swam away, pulling the boat at an angle; if this continued, the vessel would be dragged along with it.
A fish of this size would take four to five hours to tire out.
More importantly, the hook might not hold for that long.
"Prepare the Harpoon! Target the mid to rear section of the Fish Body to disrupt its balance," R11 commanded.
At R11's order, the Harpoon on the right side of the ship turned to aim at the sea fish and pressed the trigger.
Clang.
The massive Crossbow Bolt shot out, embedding itself into the side of the Fish Body toward the rear.
Attached to the Crossbow Bolt was a rope; as the sea fish struggled, the rope tightened and held it in place.
"Wednesday, that's not enough! Get ready and aim just in front of its first dorsal fin!" R11 shouted, raising his yellow gun.
"Understood." Wednesday immediately raised her weapon and aimed at the sea fish.
“Frog Gun Fire.”
Wednesday pulled the trigger, and from the uniquely designed firearm, a round bullet engraved with a frog shot out.
At the same time, R11 raised the yellow gun in hand and also pulled the trigger, firing a square die.
The frog bullet and the die struck just before the dorsal fin of the sea fish, colliding with each other.
Boom.
An explosion erupted, creating a bloody hole in the back of the sea fish, tearing apart the front section of its dorsal fin.
“Oh ho ho ho, one more should do it. Aim for the fish's head,” R11 laughed, raising the gun again.
Wednesday also pulled the trigger, sending another frog bullet flying, and once again, the two bullets collided.
Boom.
Another violent explosion occurred, this time blowing a bloody hole in the fish's head.
The sea fish continued to thrash about, but its strength was waning; it wouldn't be long before it succumbed to death.
“Gekko gekko, it's a Pomfret, not bad,” Wednesday said, licking her lips with her tongue.
“It’s not over yet. Prepare to return; we need to leave quickly and draw other sea fish away,” R11 shouted loudly.
Fishing at sea comes with many dangers and difficulties: harsh weather and massive sea creatures.
But the most perilous aspect is the swarm of other sea fish and even Sea Beasts that rush in after catching one.
Following R11's command, the Sea Vessel immediately adjusted its sails and began to move away from the area.
But just at that moment, the ship shook violently.
"What happened? Is the fish still alive?" Wednesday's legs trembled as she steadied herself.
"It's not the fish we caught; this Pomfret is already dead. Check the surroundings; there's no attack here," r11 said as he quickly walked toward the edge of the ship.
"There's a Black Fish underwater," a Bounty Hunter shouted from the other side of the ship.
"Let me see," r11 hurried over.
Boom.
In the next moment, the ship collided again, and r11 caught sight of the fish below, his expression darkening as he said, "The ship is cracking. The carpenter needs to go down and repair it. The rest of you prepare Harpoons for an attack. Wednesday, hurry over here."
"Understood."
Wednesday bent her legs and jumped to r11's side, searching for traces of the fish.
However, the Black Fish had already moved away underwater, growing farther and farther away.
"Has it gone?" Wednesday frowned and asked.
"Don't let your guard down," r11 stood firm, staring intently at the Surface of the Sea, shouting, "It's coming again."
As he spoke, the distant Black Fish surged toward them, its form hidden beneath the Surface of the Sea before crashing into them once more.
Clang.
The Harpoon shot out, piercing through the water just as the Black Fish approached, striking it in the head.
Bang.
The harpoon pierced the water, striking directly at Black Fish's head.
Splash.
Black Fish's head shattered into scales, but the harpoon had lost its strength and slowly slid down.
"Its power surpasses that of the Crossbow Bolt used by the Lionheart Pirates."
Black Fish opened its mouth, revealing a mocking expression, and crashed into the Pirate Ship.
Boom.
With the third impact, the Pirate Ship split apart and began to sink slowly.
