Chapter Eighty: Strange Creatures
The Gray Wolf weighed heavily, over fifteen tons. Xiaqiu had consumed half of it and then pushed the Gray Wolf onto the Coast.
Once placed in the sea, it quickly attracted more fish, along with some Scavengers, and soon the Gray Wolf would be devoured.
After finishing the Gray Wolf, it wasn't long before Heat Flow began to emerge, spreading outwards from its body.
Most of the Heat Flow entered its abdominal Tentacles. The front end of its Tentacles had been bitten off, but thanks to the regeneration ability of the Tentacles, it was recovering.
A small portion of the Heat Flow entered its body, providing energy.
The Heat Flow soon dissipated, and its Tentacles had grown significantly.
However, there was no change in its body. Xiaqiu was not anxious; the current Heat Flow was too little, and with its large size, it certainly wouldn't lead to any transformation.
In the following time, Xiaqiu and Moo Moo stayed near the sea and on the shore respectively.
The two fed on the carcass of the Gray Wolf. In no time, most of the Gray Wolf's body had been consumed, with Xiaqiu devouring a significant portion.
Whenever Xiaqiu felt hungry, it would go to the seaside and open its mouth.
Moo Moo would bring the remaining Gray Wolf carcass to Xiaqiu, and after Xiaqiu fed, whatever was left would be pushed onto the Coast.
Eventually, the remaining Gray Wolf carcass began to rot due to the heat and became inedible.
As time passed, the heat flow provided by the corpse diminished significantly, eventually becoming negligible.
It seemed that energy also faded away with the passage of time.
The gray wolf that he had consumed had provided a substantial amount of heat flow, yet it still wasn't enough for Xiaqiu's body to evolve.
Xiaqiu wondered if there were any wolves left on the island; if not, then the evolutionary energy unique to wolves would be greatly reduced.
By the following evening, Moo Moo's wounds had scabbed over, but it would take some time for a full recovery.
Moo Moo, now transformed into a lion, approached the gray wolf's corpse and sniffed it, shaking his head in disgust.
It was no longer edible.
With a hint of regret, Moo Moo shook his head.
Seeing this scene, Xiaqiu dove into the ocean.
Having consumed three gray wolves on his own, and now that Moo Moo could no longer eat them, he needed to catch some sea fish.
Thinking this, Xiaqiu submerged into the ocean.
After spending more than ten minutes, he found a fish and ate part of it before bringing it back to shore.
“Moo Moo, it's time to eat.”
Xiaqiu slowly stepped back and looked towards the shore, but found it empty of any creatures.
Where did Moo Moo go?
He had only been away for a short while, and now Moo Moo was nowhere to be seen.
Xiaqiu waited nearby, and after a while, he heard rustling sounds coming from the forest.
Before long, Moo Moo appeared before Xiaqiu, dragging a massive wild boar behind him.
“Did you go hunting?”
Xiaqiu was somewhat surprised, but it made sense. Now that he was on land, transforming into a lion to hunt in the woods was the best option.
Being able to hunt meant he could survive on the island.
Moreover, with his large size, as long as he didn’t encounter a pack of wolves, even that tiger wouldn’t pose much of a threat to Moo Moo.
Moo Moo dragged the wild boar to the shore, noticed the sea fish, glanced at the boar again, and then ran over to eat the fish.
When Xiaqiu got hungry, all he had to do was open his mouth, and Moo Moo would push the boar into the sea for him.
One lived on the shore, while the other lived in the sea, and in the blink of an eye, seven or eight hours had passed.
Xiaqiu had consumed many creatures from the land, and Heat Flow appeared, but the changes in his body were not very noticeable.
However, it was not without effect; Xiaqiu felt a slight itch where his head connected to his chest, indicating that there would be some transformation there.
Suddenly, a crack of thunder echoed.
A bolt of lightning struck down, illuminating the ground before him.
The sky was overcast with dark clouds, and a fierce wind swept through, causing the trees and branches to sway wildly.
"A storm is coming."
Xiaqiu realized that the weather here was quite severe, with heavy rain occurring almost every three or four hours.
He quickly dove beneath the ocean, while Moo Moo transformed into a lion and sprinted toward the forest.
Boom.
Moo Moo's speed increased rapidly, and in no time, he reached the depths of the island.
I must hide.
The storm would last at least through the night. If it were just rain, it wouldn't be so bad, but outside there was lightning and howling winds. Staying by the sea in such conditions for an entire night would be unbearable.
I seem to remember that during the last hunt, there was a huge cave over there.
Whoosh.
Moo Moo ran toward the distance and arrived at the foot of the mountains, where a massive cave appeared before him.
I can go in.
Moo Moo dashed inside the cave.
"It's a bit windy."
Moo Moo felt relieved, transformed back to his original form, and lay down, waiting for the storm to pass.
But at that moment, two points of light flickered in the darkness, accompanied by the sound of footsteps approaching.
"What is that?"
Moo Moo straightened up and looked into the shadows.
A massive figure emerged from the darkness, its yellow and black stripes unmistakable—it was a tiger.
"Roar."
The tiger let out a roar upon seeing Moo Moo.
It was someone else's territory, and this tiger bore a scar on its chest, reminiscent of the one that had taken Gray Wolf from him.
Moo Moo transformed into a lion, watching the tiger warily.
But in the next moment, the tiger glanced at Moo Moo, snorted loudly, and then slowly backed away, lying down while keeping its gaze fixed on Moo Moo.
Was it not going to attack?
Moo Moo considered leaving but, noticing that the tiger had no intention of attacking, decided to lie down as well. He remained in his lion form, closed his eyes, and rested for a while.
As the night wore on, Moo Moo reverted back to his Manatee state.
Seeing this, the distant tiger's eyes filled with confusion but it did nothing.
By the next morning, the torrential rain had ceased. The tiger stood up and let out a few roars directed at Moo Moo.
"Moo Moo."
Moo Moo heard the shout and replied, transforming into a lion as he left the forest.
It was time to go find his older brother at the Coast.
But first, he needed to hunt.
Moo Moo thought to himself as he searched for prey, circling around several times until he spotted a Wild Deer.
The Wild Deer was about twelve or thirteen meters long. Upon seeing Moo Moo, it immediately turned and sprinted away into the distance.
Moo Moo quickly gave chase, leaping towards the Wild Deer.
He moved swiftly and with great agility.
The Wild Deer darted through the trees, using them to evade Moo Moo, preventing him from gaining speed.
Suddenly, a tree appeared in front of Moo Moo, forcing him to veer off course while the Wild Deer took another sharp turn and ran further away.
This is infuriating!
Moo Moo angrily pursued once more, but he could only maintain a certain distance behind.
The two ran down the mountain, chasing for a while until a forest appeared in the distance. This forest was not filled with the tall, straight fir trees typical of their home area, but rather a peculiar type of tree.
These trees were very thick, but much shorter than the firs, with the tallest only reaching twenty to thirty meters, and they were spaced closely together.
This was bad.
Moo Moo realized that he couldn't enter the forest at all; his size was simply too large.
However, Wild Deer could slip right in without any hindrance.
Had he lost the chase?
Moo Moo felt a bit disheartened; after running for so long, he had failed.
But just as Wild Deer was about to enter the forest, a figure suddenly darted out from another direction, blocking Wild Deer’s path.
Bang.
The shadow swung its claws sideways and struck Wild Deer, sending him flying. Bones shattered and limbs broke upon impact.
Whoosh.
The figure slid forward after delivering the blow, leaving deep scratches on the ground with its claws.
The Wild Deer rolled and landed in front of Moo Moo.
It was the tiger.
Moo Moo looked at the creature, realizing it was the same tiger with whom it had spent the night.
"Roar."
The tiger roared loudly upon seeing the Wild Deer before Moo Moo.
Hearing its roar, Moo Moo hesitated.
This tiger was one it had captured; if not for it, the tiger would have escaped.
But now, it had taken away its food.
Yet last night, the tiger had allowed Moo Moo to stay in its territory.
After all, one deer was too much for it to eat alone.
Moo Moo hesitated for a moment, then slowly backed away, creating some distance.
Seeing Moo Moo's actions, the tiger felt puzzled. Why was it giving the Wild Deer to me?
The tiger slowly approached the Wild Deer, and Moo Moo did not move to attack.
So, the tiger lowered its head and began to devour the deer meat, finishing off half of it. It glanced at Moo Moo and slowly backed away.
Seeing this scene, Moo Moo rushed over but did not eat. Instead, it bit into the body of the Wild Deer and dragged it away.
What is it trying to do?
The tiger wondered, following behind Moo Moo.
Moo Moo dragged the Wild Deer’s corpse to the seaside, where the coast was littered with bones, and on the shore lay a half-eaten fish.
Moo Moo placed the Wild Deer by the water, transformed into a Manatee, and opened its mouth to shout, “Moo Moo, Moo Moo.”
Before long, a gigantic Black Fish emerged from the water.
“Moo Moo.”
Moo Moo pushed the Wild Deer into the sea, and the Black Fish bit onto it, diving beneath the waves.
Meanwhile, Moo Moo began to feast on the fish on the shore, enjoying itself immensely.
What is happening?
The tiger in the distance looked at the scene before her, even more puzzled.
This was a beast capable of transformation, able to change its form, and it was enormous.
Its combat power was incredibly strong, able to kill the wolf pack that brought it trouble, especially that Wolf King, who had once left a scar on its body.
Moreover, it would provide food for itself, unlike other powerful ferocious beasts.
Even more importantly, it kept a fish.
How strange.
The tiger had never seen such a peculiar creature before, so she crouched in the jungle, quietly observing.
