Chapter Seventy-Eight: Pain and Anger
This was a pack of wolves.
Underwater, Xiaqiu felt a surge of tension at the sight.
Ordinary Gray Wolves ranged from ten to twenty meters in length, while the Wolf King reached an impressive twenty-five meters.
One wolf was manageable; even the Wolf King could be easily defeated by Moo Moo.
But there were seven of them.
And Moo Moo had just transformed into a lion, making victory uncertain.
"Get into the water."
"Moo Moo, you dive in, and I'll take you away to another place, or to another island."
However, Moo Moo couldn't hear Xiaqiu's thoughts as the wolf pack launched their attack.
One by one, the Gray Wolves charged directly at Moo Moo.
"Roar."
Faced with the onslaught of the Gray Wolves, Moo Moo slightly raised its upper body and struck out with its right paw.
But because Moo Moo was still unfamiliar with its lion form, it was a moment too slow.
As the Gray Wolf landed, it immediately leaped to the side.
Whoosh.
Moo Moo's claws swiped at nothing.
In that instant when Moo Moo launched his attack, all the Gray Wolves sprang into action, charging toward him.
Seeing this scene, Moo Moo felt a twinge of fear and wanted to retreat.
But just as he was about to back away, the Wolf King transformed into a blur, instantly leaping toward Moo Moo's hind legs, claws extended, aiming for his rear.
Sensing the rush of wind behind him, Moo Moo chose to charge forward instead of retreating.
The Wolf King missed his target but managed to block Moo Moo's escape.
As Moo Moo surged ahead, he swung a massive paw.
Bang.
His claws struck one of the Gray Wolves with tremendous force, sending it flying and rolling on the ground, blood spilling from its mouth as it struggled to rise.
However, in the next moment, the other wolves had already closed in on Moo Moo.
Crunch.
Moo Moo turned and bit into one of the wolves, its sharp teeth sinking into the creature's body. Then, it struck out again, aiming a paw at another Gray Wolf.
However, the second wolf dodged Moo Moo's attack.
Meanwhile, the remaining two wolves had already pounced onto Moo Moo.
Thud.
One wolf raised its front paw and slashed at Moo Moo, leaving deep gashes with its sharp claws. The other wolf managed to bite into Moo Moo's body but only caught a mouthful of fur.
At that moment, the Wolf King lunged from behind and sank its teeth into Moo Moo's rear.
Crunch.
A chunk of flesh was torn away from Moo Moo's backside, taking with it a thick layer of fur.
"Ow!"
Moo Moo cried out in pain, its expression twisted in agony, fear flickering in its eyes.
Damn it, Moo Moo was injured.
Underwater, Xiaqiu watched this scene unfold, feeling an overwhelming sense of distress. It was because of him that Moo Moo had to face this danger, and now that it was in peril, he was powerless to help.
If only I could fight them, I could easily kill them.
But I can't.
On the shore, Moo Moo was bitten and went into a frenzy, shaking off the Wolf King. Then, it swung its claws and struck at a wolf, but that wolf lunged as well, its claws reaching for Moo Moo's massive paw.
Bang.
The three claws collided, sending the wolf flying. It rolled once on the ground but quickly got back up.
At that moment, other wolves charged in again.
Tear.
A bloody scratch appeared on Moo Moo's body as another wolf bit into it.
One wolf attempted to attack Moo Moo's abdomen, but its thick scales blocked the assault.
Whoosh.
The Wolf King lunged again, aiming for Moo Moo's thigh, opening its mouth wide to bite down.
Crunch.
Moo Moo's hind leg was bitten, thrashing violently as the Wolf King leaped down, taking a large chunk of flesh with it.
It hurts, it hurts so much.
Moo Moo felt the pain surge through him, tears welling up in his eyes.
These opponents were fierce; although they were smaller than him, their strength was formidable.
There were still five wolves left.
He wanted his brother to help him, but he knew that his brother couldn't come ashore.
His brother couldn't assist him.
He decided to return to the water first.
In the water, with his brother nearby, he wouldn't fear even sinking.
Thinking this, Moo Moo immediately turned around, planning to return to the water.
Swish, swish, swish.
The surrounding wolves lunged at Moo Moo without hesitation.
With a swift turn of his head, Moo Moo's sharp horn pierced one wolf's abdomen. He violently tossed it aside.
Tearing sounds echoed in the air.
Moo Moo was attacked by the Three-Headed Wolf, leaving deep gashes across its body.
"Roar."
Moo Moo endured the pain and turned to charge towards the sea.
But at that moment, the lurking Wolf King pounced from the side.
Boom.
The Wolf King collided with Moo Moo's flank, sending the massive creature crashing to the ground.
The Wolf King shook its head, feeling the impact take a toll on it as well.
Moo Moo struggled to rise, but the Three-Headed Wolf was already upon it, biting down fiercely.
Moo Moo swung its claws in an attempt to defend itself, but they left more bloody marks on its body and tore away chunks of flesh with their teeth.
"Roar."
Moo Moo tried to stand, but its legs were bitten, preventing it from getting back up.
"Moo Moo."
Seeing this scene, Xiaqiu's heart raced.
He knew that if things continued like this, Moo Moo would die, but what could he do?
As Xiaqiu pondered, he suddenly arched his body, his abdomen facing up, and his Tentacles shot towards the Water Surface.
Xiaqiu's body was relatively wide, and even parallel to the island, he still maintained a certain distance.
The Tentacles shot out of the Water Surface, stretching nearly seven or eight meters long, while Moo Moo was about four or five meters away from the shore.
With a smack, Xiaqiu's Tentacles struck a wolf, sending it stumbling. Two other Tentacles hit its body.
Bang, bang.
The wolf was knocked to the ground but pushed itself up with its limbs, trying to stand.
Whoosh.
Xiaqiu's Tentacles lunged again, but in that instant, the Wolf King charged in and bit down on Xiaqiu's Tentacles.
Crunch.
Xiaqiu's Tentacles were bitten off, and then the Wolf King swung its claws, swatting away Xiaqiu's remaining Tentacles.
Meanwhile, the Three-Headed Wolf lunged at the Tentacles, while the other two heads continued to suppress Moo Moo.
Moo Moo tried to rise, but they kept attacking relentlessly.
It was futile.
His own Tentacles were blocked, and Moo Moo was still under assault.
At this rate, Moo Moo would undoubtedly perish.
What should he do?
Xiaqiu thought anxiously as one of his Tentacles was bitten off by the Wolf King.
"Argh."
One head of the wolf dodged Moo Moo's claws and pounced on his back, tearing away a large chunk of flesh.
"Argh."
Moo Moo let out a painful cry.
Damn it.
Hearing that sound, Xiaqiu felt an unbearable pain in his heart, and immediately withdrew two of his Tentacles.
Puff.
The Wolf King bit through one of the Tentacles, while another Tentacle was blocked by another wolf.
Although the Tentacles were long, their strength was relatively weak and ineffective.
It’s no use, it’s no use.
Xiaqiu felt an overwhelming sense of urgency; he did not want to see Moo Moo die.
Especially because of himself, Moo Moo had to come ashore.
Ah!
Xiaqiu roared in his heart, but felt utterly helpless.
Crack.
Xiaqiu's Tentacle was bitten off again by the Wolf King, leaving him unable to reach that place.
With no restraints left, the Wolf King and the wolf responsible for blocking turned to pounce on Moo Moo once more.
It's over.
Xiaqiu flipped over, watching as the Wolf King joined the assault on Moo Moo.
After the Wolf King joined, Moo Moo was undoubtedly doomed.
With his only means of attack rendered useless, he felt powerless to stop it.
Xiaqiu's heart was filled with anger, guilt, and pain.
Damn it.
If only he could level up to six.
"Awooo."
The Wolf King sank its teeth into Moo Moo's abdomen, tearing away a large patch of scales and flesh, blood spraying everywhere.
Hearing that sound, a wave of unwillingness surged within Xiaqiu.
His heart ignited with fierce rage.
This is my brother; only I can strike him. How can you kill him?
You all stop right now!
As this thought took root in Xiaqiu's mind, the next moment, a tremendous force erupted from him.
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
The Wolf King and the Three-Headed Wolf lay sprawled on the ground, unconscious.
Moo Moo's body stiffened, losing control as it collapsed, twitching on the ground.
"What is this?"
Xiaqiu paused, looking at the fallen Wolf King, reflecting on the sensation from just moments ago.
What had emerged from within him was…
Haki!
Conqueror's Haki!
