Chapter Fifty-Three: Fierce Battle
As the massive Black Fish charged toward him, Arlong thought he would employ the same old trick again and decided to wait for it to pass.
But in an instant, the creature accelerated, its body lunging forward.
"This is bad."
Arlong's expression changed, but it was already too late.
Boom.
Xiaqiu's enormous form crashed into the area between Eight and Arlong from a diagonal rear. With most of its body in motion, Eight noticed the threat sooner than the other Fishmen. Seeing the direction of the charge, he quickly slapped his six arms forward and retreated rapidly.
Xiaqiu barreled straight into the space two meters in front of him, colliding with a Fishman.
Seeing Xiaqiu rush past him, Eight immediately lunged forward, intending to attack its side.
However, at that moment, as Eight moved, Xiaqiu tilted to the right, aligning its abdomen with Eight.
Crack.
Xiaqiu bit down on one Fishman and continued its charge, crashing into another Fishman.
The Fishman attempted to evade but was still struck, bones shattering as he coughed up blood, losing all combat ability.
At the same time, Eight collided directly with Xiaqiu's abdomen. Xiaqiu's eight tentacles suddenly snapped open and then recoiled, striking at Eight.
Twelve-meter-long Tentacles swept in, surrounding him.
"This is bad."
As Ba saw Xiaqiu flip over, he felt a sense of dread and immediately halted his momentum to retreat.
However, he was already too close to Xiaqiu's abdomen. The Tentacles, measuring about twelve meters, contracted as they flipped and then shot out.
The speed at which they shot out was faster than Ba's retreat.
When the Tentacles closed in, Ba was only at the midpoint of them.
Yet Ba did not panic; he kicked out with his six limbs and legs.
Bang, bang, bang...
A series of muffled sounds echoed.
Ba's hands collided with Xiaqiu's eight Tentacles, and he felt a tremendous force surge through him. Using that force, he propelled himself backward.
Bang.
Xiaqiu's eight Tentacles retracted and vanished before him.
Ba had avoided being ensnared, but as he stood there, he looked at his arms and legs with lingering fear.
There were streaks of blood on them, and in some areas, flesh had been torn away.
These were the claws from the Tentacles. As Ba retreated, the claws retracted, grazing his limbs and leaving behind wounds.
"That hurts."
The Octopus felt a sharp pain but did not stop; instead, it lunged toward Xiaqiu.
At the moment Xiaqiu collided, Arlong quickly dodged backward before pouncing at Xiaqiu.
He had experienced Xiaqiu's strength and knew that its sharp teeth would be dangerous, so he naturally avoided a frontal confrontation.
His first choice was to attack Xiaqiu's side.
However, Xiaqiu rolled to the right just in time, its massive dorsal fin crashing forward.
The front of the dorsal fin was protected by a hard spine, about four meters long and roughly forty centimeters thick, deeply embedded in Xiaqiu's back.
As the enormous dorsal fin of the sea creature was about to collide with him, Arlong swiftly turned and wrapped his arms around the fin's hard spine.
Boom.
Xiaqiu surged forward, carrying Arlong with it into the distance.
Crack, crack.
Arlong clung to the hard spine of Xiaqiu's dorsal fin, opened his mouth wide, and bit down on a section, his teeth clamping shut.
With the crushing power capable of shattering a cannonball, he bit through the hard spine.
Hiss.
Xiaqiu's body jerked in pain, surprised that Arlong had chosen to attack its dorsal fin first.
The dorsal fin was damaged, and his balance weakened.
Of course, Xiaqiu's massive size, with two dorsal fins, made it difficult for him to topple over easily.
For instance, the Blue Whale also has a dorsal fin, but it's quite small, only a few centimeters in height.
Xiaqiu possessed enormous Pectoral Fins, Pelvic Fins, and a Caudal Fin that helped maintain his balance.
Arlong was gnawing at Xiaqiu's dorsal fin, but Xiaqiu couldn't let him continue without taking action.
He surged forward slightly, then abruptly turned back, executing a drift.

Arlong halted his movements, gripping Xiaqiu's dorsal fin tightly.
"You can't shake me off."
Arlong revealed a fierce expression and continued to bite down, damaging part of Xiaqiu's dorsal fin further.
Seeing that he wasn't thrown off, Xiaqiu chose not to employ any other methods and allowed Arlong to continue gnawing at his fin.
Instead, Xiaqiu circled around and charged once more at the Fishman.
Crunch.
Xiaqiu bit down on a Fishman attempting to dodge him, killing him instantly.
Bang.
Xiaqiu's tail lashed out, striking a Fishman with tremendous force, shattering its bones and sending it slowly sinking into the depths.
It was a single blow.
In just a back-and-forth exchange, Xiaqiu had killed four Fishmen.
Now, only Arlong, Hachi, and another Fishman remained.
"This bastard."
Arlong stood on Xiaqiu's back, watching in fury as Xiaqiu devoured the Fishman.
Four more had perished.
Now it was just him, Hachi, and one other Fishman left.
Including the four Fishmen who were guarding, there were only five Fish Soldiers remaining.
But he had to kill him.
Too many had already died; revenge was necessary.
If he didn't kill him, he might end up dead himself.
Arlong bit into Xiaqiu's dorsal fin, having already severed the top section at a meter and a half.
Meanwhile, Hachi seized the opportunity to move alongside Xiaqiu and lunged at him.
Octopus burn.
Ba raised his fist and struck out.
But in the next moment, four tentacles suddenly shot up from Xiaqiu's abdomen, whipping towards his back.
Since part of Xiaqiu's tentacles was situated between its pectoral fins, the first and second pairs of tentacles could not be used. The fourth tentacle was very long but relatively thin, making it less effective in combat.
Bang, bang.
Ba's fists hit Xiaqiu's back, producing only two sounds.
Feeling the tentacles coming down, Ba pushed with his other four hands and swiftly retreated to dodge Xiaqiu's strike.
Xiaqiu's back scales slightly dented but remained intact.
With Ba's punching power, he could no longer shatter the scales; the force would be absorbed by the scales and then dissipated by the muscles beneath.
Meanwhile, the other two tentacles lashed out at Arlong.
The twelve-meter-long tentacles could leap over Xiaqiu's seven-meter-tall body to reach him.
"This is bad."
Arlong's expression changed as he extended his right hand to shield himself.
Bang.
A loud sound echoed as one tentacle missed while the other struck Arlong, who raised his left hand to block.
"Ah..."
Arlong was chosen, his strength not particularly great, but in the next moment, the claw pierced into his arm.
The claw was inward-facing, and Xiaqiu twisted its tentacle, striking Arlong.
With a thud.
Xiaqiu retracted its tentacle, tearing a chunk of flesh from Arlong's left arm.
However, Xiaqiu noticed that Arlong had not moved away from its back and had not injured Eight, which left it feeling somewhat regretful.
Xiaqiu immediately surged forward while controlling its tentacles to continue the assault.
The sudden advance caused Arlong to stumble, but he managed to hold onto Xiaqiu's hard spines. Yet in the next moment, the tentacle struck again. Arlong dared not take it head-on but also did not want to move away from Xiaqiu's body.
So he dodged to the right, hiding on the other side of Xiaqiu's dorsal fin.
But in that instant, another tentacle came crashing down.
Bang.
Arlong's back was hit; the massive tentacle slammed against him and did not retract but instead pressed down and constricted.
With a squelch.
The claw pierced into his back, causing him immense pain.
Arlong realized that staying on Xiaqiu's back was not a good idea. Not only did he have to exert effort to maintain his grip against its forward momentum, but he also had to contend with the resistance of the water and fend off its attacks.
Thus, Arlong turned sideways, pushing against the tentacles and allowing the claws to tear away large pieces of flesh as he swam upstream.
At that moment, Ba pushed back, wanting to pounce again.
However, Xiaqiu had already dashed out, swinging its tail fiercely.
The fish tail struck, and Ba raised both fists in front of him, colliding with it.
Bang.
Ba was sent flying, but the tentacle arms absorbed most of the impact, preventing any serious injury.
Meanwhile, Xiaqiu successfully broke free from the two and circled around before charging again.
