Chapter Fifteen: Distress 0

"Is it Narl Village?" 0

A Naval Battleship was sailing toward the ocean as Krumay put down the receiver of the Transponder Snail. He had just received a call that Narl Village was under attack by the pirate crew known as Attack, and he was ordered to lead a team to provide support. 0

Krumay was certainly no stranger to Narl Village; it was near this island that he had killed Colonel Belial, the sea creature responsible for many troubles. 0

If it weren't for Narl Village's request for help, Belial would still be alive. 0

Belial's death had promoted Krumay to Major, making him an officer at the 154 Branch Base, where he was now considered a senior official. 0

Following Colonel Lido's orders, Krumay had come near Narl Village to search for the sea creature using his Battleship, only to find that it had already vanished. 0

He still held a fondness for Narl Village in his heart. 0

"Turn the ship around and head for Narl Village," Krumay commanded as he called over a Sailor to relay his orders. 0

The Battleship sped toward Narl Village. After some time, a ship appeared on the horizon, sailing sideways into the distance. 0

"Major, we have a Pirate Ship," the lookout reported urgently to Krumay. 0

Krumay quickly exited the cabin and grabbed his telescope to look into the distance. "The Pirate Flag bears a pig's head. Is this the Attack crew that is threatening Narl Village? What a coincidence. I remember Moor, the leader of the Porcupine Pirates, is also on the Bounty Notice with a bounty of five million. If we have a Battleship, dealing with them shouldn't be too difficult." 0

Krumey's eyes sparkled with determination as he immediately commanded, "Prepare to engage the pirates." 0

"Yes, sir." 0

All the sailors sprang into action. 0

However, just as they approached, the distant pirate ship unfurled its sails and continued to sail away. 0

"Trying to escape? Chase after them!" 0

Krumey shouted coldly, and the battleship surged forward in pursuit of the pirate ship. 0

The battleship was faster, quickly closing the distance to the pirate ship. Once they were close enough, Krumey issued the order to fire. 0

Boom! Boom! Boom! 0

The Porcupine Pirates' warship was struck, its hull breached, wooden planks splintering, and in an instant, three or four crew members were killed. 0

"We surrender! We surrender!" 0

After taking several hits, the Porcupine Pirates raised their pirate flag and waved it in the air. 0

"That was quick. They don't even dare to retaliate." 0

Krumey frowned, squinting as he thought for a moment before shouting, "Continue the attack! Prepare the firearms!" 0

"Yes." 0

The Sailors continued to relay commands, while the Cannon fired again, shattering the Mast of the Pirate Ship. 0

At a closer distance, the Firearms raised their long guns, aiming at the Pirate Ship and pulling the trigger. 0

Bullets flew out, claiming a few more pirates' lives, while the others scrambled into the ship's cabin. 0

"Boarding, prepare to board." 0

Crumay drew a rapier from his waist, twirling it in his hand before leaping onto the ship's railing. 0

Bang. 0

The Naval Battleship missed its position, scraping sideways against the Pirate Ship. 0

"Attack." 0

Crumay shouted, "Leave no pirate alive. If you encounter their leader, do not attack blindly. Surround them but do not engage; leave that to me and the Lieutenant. Try not to get hurt." 0

"Yes." 0

The Sailors charged onto the Pirate Ship, initiating the battle. 0

"Lieutenant, come with me. We need to find the Pirate Leader and the strong members of the Pirate Crew." 0

Krumai looked at the man holding a short gun and coldly said, "They can only be dealt with by us." 0

Beside him, another man dressed in a Navy uniform held two short guns, his expression filled with excitement. 0

"Yes, Krumai, Major." 0

The Lieutenant admired Krumai's actions; he was leading the charge against strong opponents, proving himself to be an excellent commander. 0

However, for Krumai, his few words had delayed their advance, allowing him to avoid being at the forefront. 0

There were significantly more Navy soldiers than pirates, two or three times as many. With a three-to-one advantage, they had a great chance of winning. 0

Even if the enemy leader appeared and was surrounded by his Navy soldiers, he could attack while having sailors nearby to support him, greatly increasing their odds of success. 0

Krumai gripped his ornate sword and leaped onto the pirate ship, charging forward and stabbing a pirate to death with one thrust. 0

"Major, there's a pirate leader!" a sailor shouted from a distance. 0

Krumai looked over and saw four or five sailors surrounding a man. Two sailors were already lying on the ground, clutching their chests. 0

"Not a Moor?" Krumai quickly assessed that the man's appearance did not match the one on the bounty notice and instantly concluded he was not the pirate leader. 0

"Leave this to me," Krumai shouted as he charged forward with his ornate sword drawn. 0

With a soft thud, the pirate fell, his throat pierced by Krumay's blade, lifeless and beyond saving. 0

"Too weak," Krumay remarked, shaking his head as he continued to wait for the Navy to emerge. 0

However, after all the pirates had been dispatched, no formidable opponent appeared. 0

"What’s going on?" 0

Krumay felt puzzled but kept the question to himself. He had just decimated a Pirate Crew, which was a significant achievement. 0

He waved his hand and called out, "Clean up the battlefield and send someone to take control of the Pirate Ship. We’re heading to Narl Village first; we’ll tow the ship back later." 0

This vessel could be refurbished and would serve well as a Merchant Ship. 0

Selling it would bring in a substantial fortune, although most of it would go to the Branch Base and Colonel Lido. 0

Still, he would receive a reward and help resolve the salary issues for the Branch Base, ensuring he would gain recognition. 0

Krumay felt he was one step closer to his dream. 0

With that thought in mind, Colonel Krumay left part of his team behind and set sail towards Narl Village aboard the Battleship. 0

"This is what was seized from the Pirate Ship." 0

Upon arriving at Narl Village, Krumay handed over some of the items looted from the Pirate Ship to the village chief. 0

"There's too much, too much." 0

The chief looked at the items before him—Berries, Treasure—far exceeding the protection fee he had paid. 0

"Too much? Consider it compensation," Krumay replied with a smile. 0

"Thank you, Admiral." 0

The chief quickly expressed his gratitude, surprised that after giving away a portion of his money, he received even more in return. 0

"Indeed, you're much better than Colonel Belial," the chief thought to himself as he looked at Krumay. 0

In the past, although Krumay had negotiated with the village, it was actually Belio who was in charge, and Krumay often mentioned Belio's name. 0

Now, with this gesture, Krumay had earned the chief's appreciation. 0

The chief looked at Krumay and took out a portion of the wealth. "Major, our village has only lost these; the rest should be returned to you." 0

"Is that so?" 0

Krumay nodded, a smile involuntarily tugging at the corners of his mouth. 0

How could you dare to take extra money? In the end, it would still come back to me, and there would be a reason to accept it. 0

"Since that's the case, we'll take our leave." 0

Krumay put away the money, stood up, and prepared to leave. 0

"Major, wait a moment." 0

The village chief called out from behind, "There’s something else I want to trouble you with." 0

"What is it?" 0

Krumay turned around to look at the village chief. 0

The chief pushed all the remaining treasure forward and said, "The pirates who came to raid us were attacked by a Black Fish on their way back, and most of them died." 0

"Most of them died?" 0

Krumay raised an eyebrow; no wonder the Hedgehog Pirate Ship had no strong members. 0

Wait a minute, Black Fish. 0

Krumai couldn't help but ask, "Is that the one that killed Colonel Belial, the Black Fish?" 0

"It should be; it looks the same," the village chief replied, still shaken. "Now it's grown to fifteen meters." 0

"That big?" 0

Krumai narrowed his eyes. In just a month and a half, it had grown from seven meters to fifteen—this growth rate was alarming, comparable to Sea Beasts and Sea Kings. 0

That fish was clever; setting traps would likely be futile. 0

And in underwater combat, he wasn't even a match for Belio, let alone the now-massive Black Fish. 0

He would have to let the Colonel handle it personally. 0

Krumai looked at the village chief and said, "I will report this to the Branch Base, raise the alert level, and treat it as a Sea Beast. We will request support from the Navy." 0

In the East Sea, there were also Sea Beasts and Sea Kings. They sometimes threatened the safety of merchant ships, fishing boats, and residents. 0

In this world, the primary mode of transportation was sailing on the sea. If threatened, islands could be cut off from supplies, leading to significant trouble. 0

Thus, the Navy had measures in place to deal with these creatures that harmed humans, categorizing them into two threat levels: Sea Beasts and Sea Kings. 0

As long as they affected the daily lives of residents, after an application was made, they would conduct induced capture and removal. If removal was impossible, they would proceed with driving them away. 0

Since I can't do it myself, I'll leave it to Colonel Lido. 0

Krumai thought as he arranged things and boarded the Battleship, leaving Narl Village behind. 0

Meanwhile, in the distant waters, Xiaqiu lay in the trench, a few fish nibbling at the remnants of food stuck between his teeth. 0

The Enhanced Energy brought by the human warriors was substantial. 0

To grow stronger, not just in size but in power, he needed formidable humans. 0

But where could he find them? 0

Xiaqiu fell into deep contemplation. 0
