“They went out…” Qing Luan murmured, tapping her forehead with her hand. “What condition?” Hu Lingyun asked excitedly. The doctor had already said there was no hope and told him to prepare for the worst. If she was still willing to try, it meant that Linglong still had a chance.
“The condition is that no matter what I do, I hope Hu Ye won't interfere,” she said. He was the most powerful now; if he was unwilling, her plans would come to nothing.
“I promise you, Qing Luan, as long as you can save my sister, I will agree to whatever you ask!” He was her only family, someone he had watched grow up. Though she was his sister, he cherished and cared for her as if she were his daughter. How could he allow anything to happen to her?
Qing Luan was quite satisfied with Hu Lingyun. He truly cared for his sister, which made her willing to help. In both this life and the last, she had encountered too many heartless and untrustworthy people. Finding someone who still valued familial bonds was indeed rare.
With Hu Lingyun's assurance, Qing Luan began her rescue efforts.

"Wah wah..." The child's cries grew even more pitiful, its small body struggling continuously, making it hard to watch.
"Hu Linglong," Qing Luan approached the bedside and shouted loudly, "Your son is crying; can you hear him?"
There was no response; not even a blink of her eyes.
"Damn it!" Hearing the child's miserable cries and seeing Hu Linglong's lifeless demeanor truly infuriated Qing Luan. She reached out with her left hand to grab Hu Linglong's clothing at her chest while raising her right hand and delivering two hard slaps. The sound of "smack smack" echoed as two red marks appeared on Hu Linglong's face. Immediately after, Qing Luan placed both hands on her shoulders and shook her vigorously while angrily cursing, "You idiot! If you want to die, just do it already! Why torture yourself here?"
