When the monster's tentacles slowly reached out and approached the three of them, something amazing happened behind Kevin, Mary, and Alan. The solid stone wall they were leaning against began to lose its shape, as if experiencing some kind of invisible malfunction, just like a glitch in a video game.
Kevin was the first to feel something unusual with his foot. He tried to lift it, only to find that his entire foot was stuck to the semi-transparent wall, as if stepping into a swamp. Soon after, Mary and Alan also experienced the same situation. They struggled to free themselves, but only ended up sinking deeper into the swamp-like wall.
Alan's glasses reflected the shadow of a monster, and he looked anxiously at Kevin and Mary, his eyes filled with confusion and fear. But at that moment, the entire wall seemed to lose its gravity, and the three of them were sucked in by a tremendous force, plummeting instantly.
The surroundings began to distort, as if entering a twisted space tunnel, as if being pulled into another dimension. Their descent speed increased, and the light and shadows around them also twisted and spun. This falling sensation was unlike anything in the real world, as if they were traversing an unknown virtual space.
Three people tightly held each other's hands, seeking a shred of solace for their souls. Mary's tears formed a swiftly moving waterline as they fell, while Kevin struggled to remain calm and understand the sudden turn of events. Alan, though visibly fearful, had a glint of curiosity in his eyes, as if exploring the unknown.
The endless descent seemed to last for eternity until the three suddenly felt a strong jolt, and then darkness completely enveloped them, once again entering into an unknown territory.
Kevin, Mary, and Alan fell from a virtual rift and landed in terror on a hard surface. As they adjusted their vision and stood up, they found themselves in a vast, concrete-built warehouse.
This place was markedly different from the game scenes they had been in before. The walls were all gray, with exposed steel bars protruding from certain areas, as if the place was not yet fully constructed. The entire space gave off a cold and desolate feeling, and the dim fluorescent lights added a touch of eerie atmosphere. Although these lights emitted a faint glow, it was enough for them to see the surrounding environment.
Every step they took echoed with a dull thud. The air here seemed to carry a thin mist, making it difficult for them to catch their breath.
Kevin turned his blocky head, trying to observe the space. The walls were made of concrete, with exposed steel bars between the concrete slabs, some of which were already rusted. Dim fluorescent lights hung from the ceiling, flickering intermittently, casting an unstable glow.
Mary whispered, "What do you think of this place?" A hint of unease showed in her eyes.
Alan placed his hand on a wall, feeling its cold and dampness. "The humidity here is very heavy. Look at that mist, it's forming at such a low level."
Kevin walked towards one of the puddles, reached out to touch it, "This water is really cold," he said, "I wonder where this water comes from."
Alan observed for a moment and replied, "The mist seems to be jetting out from underground, and this condensation water seems to be related to this mist. I suspect that the temperature here is very low, causing this mist to condense into water."
Mary nervously said, "I feel like something is not right here. We should quickly find a way out."
The three of them decided to move along the edge of the warehouse, hoping to find an exit. However, as they explored, they gradually realized that the warehouse seemed even larger than they had imagined, and there were no signs of any exits around them.
In this huge warehouse space, deep corridors connect to more deep corridors, creating an endless maze. The long lights illuminate every corner, but they cannot dispel the confusion and unease in the hearts of the three people. The exploration process has lasted for several hours, and their steps have gradually become heavy, with fatigue and anxiety intertwining in each person's heart.
Mary wiped the sweat from her forehead with her hand, a small gesture that revealed her unease: "I really feel like we're going in circles. Every turn, every corridor, it all seems like a repeated scene."
Alan nodded, his gaze deep, " Escape the Backrooms may be designed like this, to trap explorers in this endless maze, forcing us into despair."
As the three continued to discuss this maze, Kevin suddenly stopped in his tracks. His gaze fixed on a large square box in the corner ahead, rough in texture but emitting a special allure. What caught their attention even more was the clear label on the box that read "Resource Box."
"This is..." Mary asked in amazement.
Without hesitation, Kevin quickly walked to the box and extended his square-shaped palm, beginning to mimic the actions in the game. Each strike caused the resource box to show faint cracks. As time passed, these cracks gradually merged into a large fissure. Finally, the entire box shook violently and burst open.
With a burst of bright light, items inside the box gushed out. First, there were some colorful block-shaped foods, such as pork cutlets, fish, and apples, followed by some sleek weapons, including swords, bows, and arrows. In addition, there were some medical supplies, such as healing potions and bandages. These items all clearly bore the distinctive features of " Minecraft ", as if it were a perfect fusion of the game world and the real world.
The three people looked at these precious resources with surprise, as if they had found a glimmer of hope for survival. Mary picked up some food and exclaimed, "I never thought we could find so many valuable items in a place like this."
Alan also tightly grasped a sword, looking serious: "These weapons and supplies may help us find a way out, or even confront potential enemies."
