Kong Xuan grabbed Tang Zisu by the waist and hoisted her up, shifting from holding her to carrying her over his shoulder like a sack of rice. As they raced along, Tang Zisu endured the bumps until Kong Xuan finally set her down on a hillside covered in small white flowers.
Tang Zisu spat out the rag from her mouth (the one she had bitten into pieces) and glared at Kong Xuan with furrowed brows.
"Don't make a fuss, just sit quietly."
"Sit your grandpa, Kong Xuan, let me tell you... ah..."
Kong Xuan reached out and pulled Tang Zisu down, holding her tightly in his arms.
"Let go of me! Are you crazy? If you're sick, go get treated. I know a doctor from the Five Institutes; even if he can't cure you, he can at least prescribe some special medicine."
Kong Xuan's brows furrowed tightly, wondering who this woman in his arms really was!
Perhaps Tang Zisu realized that sitting on Kong Xuan was warmer than the ground, so she shifted her position—continuing to curse.

"Why are you approaching me?"
"For no reason."

Kong Xuan thought that sometimes she wasn't so foolish. He considered telling her the truth since she was going to eat the Forget-Me-Not anyway. But for some reason, the cruel words "your blood" rolled on his tongue, yet he couldn't bring himself to say them when he met her clear and innocent eyes.
"I know you won't say anything. I've seen your story and I know what kind of being you are. No, you're not a human; you're an Ancient Demon God. But I truly consider you a friend. I'm here borrowing someone else's body, I don't know anyone, and I can't even be a shrine maiden. I'm really scared. After finally having you as a friend, you treat me like this. I will never trust you all again." Tang Zisu rambled on, completely venting her emotions without caring whether Kong Xuan could hear her.
Kong Xuan couldn't help but pull her into his embrace. "If you want to cry, then cry. If you want to hate, then hate. After this moment, I won't pity you."
Tang Zisu clenched her fists and pounded on Kong Xuan's chest. "You big liar, you bad person, you Old Demon."
Kong Xuan had several black lines on his forehead. Old—Demon?
"You black-hearted, sadistic ice mountain scum! I curse you to run out of water while bathing, run out of gas while driving, drink cold water that gets stuck in your teeth, and fart while stepping on your heels!"

Tang Zisu eventually tired of cursing and gradually quieted down. With her face pressed against Kong Xuan's chest and her arms wrapped around his waist, she quietly listened to his heartbeat.
