You Were Born a Nobleman, Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Goddess Swaps for Garlic
Kong Xuan squatted down and sighed, "Second Young Master, these flowers also have spirits. Aren't you afraid that they will come to haunt you at midnight? Flower Spirits can be quite persistent."
The big men beside Zhang Ermao exchanged glances. "Those flowers were picked by us; they won't come after us, right?"
Zhang Ermao's small eyes darted around. "If you don't like them, I can definitely change to another kind tomorrow."
Little Fish couldn't hold back any longer. Damn it, there's a rival! I need to eliminate them quickly; otherwise, it will be endless trouble. Little Fish opened the folding fan and circled around Little White Flower. "Second Young Master, how can such a beautiful and graceful Divine Lady be paired with such ordinary flowers?" Little Fish shook his head and suddenly caught sight of Kong Xuan's frosty gaze. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, he quickly corrected himself, "Such common flowers are not worthy of the Divine Lady."
Young Master Zhang raised an eyebrow. "Then what kind of flower do you think is suitable?"
"Naturally, the Snow Lotus that grows on Snow Mountain Peak is worthy of the Divine Maiden's unparalleled beauty."
"Snow Lotus? Yes, let's go!" Zhang Ermao shouted decisively. He immediately turned to the eager big man and asked, "Young Master, where are we going?"
"Back home to sell some land and get money to go to the Snow Mountain."
Young Master Zhang turned back to Kong Xuan with a sweet smile. "Divine Maiden, see you tomorrow!"
No, Divine Maiden, I want to see you every day!
Kong Xuan just breathed a sigh of relief after sending off such a disgusting person when a booming voice from outside startled him. Tang Zisu looked outside and was shocked to see so many people gathered. It seemed that young folks from all around had come, some carrying bundles of green onions, others with braids of garlic, and some with cured meat and live fish, blocking the entrance completely. The strong men were clearing a path for Young Master Zhang while shouting, "What are you doing with these things? Isn't this just annoying the Divine Maiden?"
Young Master Zhang snorted, skillfully turning his nose away. Softy was overjoyed; she found a large bamboo basket and had people line up to put their items inside. Her little face glowed with excitement as she wiped her sweat and said to Tang Zisu, "High Priestess, having Xuan Xuan here is more effective than any deity."
Tang Zisu pretended to want to cover Softy's mouth, saying, "Be careful the deity hears you."
Little Fish shook her head disdainfully, "Copying me? There's not an ounce of creativity!"
As the sun grew hotter, Kong Xuan sat down on a bamboo chair under the Osmanthus Tree. It was the season when Osmanthus flowers bloomed, and their sweet fragrance became increasingly intense under the bright sun. Outside the courtyard, voices mingled with the bustling sounds of everyday life.
Lang Ye blew at a white Osmanthus flower that had landed on his nose and quietly said to Kong Xuan, "I didn't expect the great Peacock King could exchange for chili peppers and garlic. That's impressive!"
Kong Xuan pinched a tuft of Lang Ye's wolf fur with her jade-like fingers. Because her long robe sleeves concealed it, outsiders couldn't see. Lang Ye gritted his teeth and growled in warning, "Kong Xuan, let go! You've only been in the human world for a few days and you're already learning from that violent woman Zhu Tiao Tiao."
Kong Xuan wore a smirk as strands of her long hair danced lightly in the fragrant breeze. She truly was an extraordinary goddess but showed no mercy as she pulled out another tuft of Lang Ye's wolf fur.
Lang Ye's tears flowed freely as he exclaimed, "Damn it, Kong Xuan! You little bird person, I could bite you to death in a second."
Kong Xuan disdainfully tossed the black fur on the ground and said, "Lang Ye, you really stink. Have you not bathed in days?"
What kind of bird nose is that? I’ve been running to the river for an hour every day just to climb onto that crybaby's bed!
