In this era, reading was the most reliable pursuit. Small's eyes sparkled for a moment, as if he were dreaming of something. The elder man was also lost in thought, contemplating Xia Muxin's words. Summer Forest agreed and reminded them not to go into the water before heading back with the cart.
As soon as Summer Forest entered the house, Xia Muxin lifted her pant legs and began feeling around the stones by the riverbank as she waded into the water.

After a moment, she raised her other hand excitedly and shouted:
"Songzi! Your sister has found treasure! Quickly bring over the bucket!"
Seeing that she was slowly grasping four or five apple snails in her hand, Songzi's mouth twitched. After a long pause, he frowned and went to grab the bucket. Before he could get close, Xia Muxin tossed the apple snails at his feet and said, "Put them all in." With that, she bent down again to feel for more apple snails.
Seeing her sister so excited, Songzi fell silent, her gaze shifting to the nearby Bamboo Net. She noticed the Active Lid moving and quickly ran over to the Bamboo Pole.
"Wow, sis, it looks like there's something big in there!"
Carefully retrieving the Bamboo Net, she leaned in for a closer look. Through the gap in the lid, she spotted the white belly of a fish and couldn't help but shout in excitement.
At that moment, Xia Muxin was focused on feeling an Apple Snail and didn't pay attention to what Songzi was saying. After a while, countless Apple Snails fell beside the bamboo bucket. Estimating their weight to be around five or six pounds, she thought about how it was summer and there was no place to store more at home, so she decided to head back to shore.
Just then, Songzi pulled up the Bamboo Net and approached the wooden bucket before opening the Active Lid. "Sis, it's really a big fish!" she exclaimed joyfully as she opened it.
Xia Muxin had just reached the shore and was picking up Apple Snails along the way. Hearing Songzi's excited voice, she tossed the Apple Snails in her hand into the bucket and stepped forward to take a look. Inside the Bamboo Net was a Male Fish wriggling and struggling, weighing about three pounds.
Xia Muxin smiled and gave Songzi a thumbs-up. "My Songzi is really amazing."
Feeling flattered by the praise, Songzi shyly scratched the back of her head, her face turning red.
Soon after, the two finished collecting Apple Snails and, panting slightly, lifted the wooden bucket as they headed home.
