The timing of Baike's appearance in the Bai Clan is met with two different attitudes. One attitude is held by the Matriarch and the Five Elders, who are somewhat skeptical but still harbor some belief. Otherwise, why would the Matriarch suddenly become displeased? Deep down, she hopes her granddaughter will be the returning Legitimate Daughter, rather than her daughter becoming the Legitimate Daughter. The other attitude comes from Bai Zhan, who is part of the current White Clan Leader lineage. They are naturally overjoyed; after years of feeling unjustly treated, this moment presents the best opportunity for them to reclaim their rightful status.
When Bai Zhan received news from his spies, he was in Liniang's room, troubled. Bright White Stone had been taken away by the Five Elders for some time now. He was worried about his daughter's identity as the Legitimate Daughter being overturned again while keeping an eye on the situation at Millennium Ruins. However, when he heard that the Five Elders were reacting to Baike's appearance and the changes occurring at Bright White Stone, his mood shifted dramatically, and he couldn't stop smiling.
"Those old fools have been plotting against me every day, even targeting Kerr. This time, I want to see what they have to say," Bai Zhan told Liniang as she prepared a pot of wine and some snacks. "After all these years of dedication to the Bai Clan, not only have they failed to appreciate my efforts, but they have also opposed me at every turn. Kerr's emergence is perfectly timed; it's truly a blessing."
Liniang giggled in agreement while pouring him more wine. "My lord, they are just a bunch of ungrateful wolves. Why bother getting angry with them? Now that Kerr is doing well, I believe no one in the Bai Clan will dare question your position as clan leader or Kerr's position as Legitimate Daughter."
Looking at his young and beautiful wife, Bai Zhan felt quite satisfied; her words were music to his ears. He downed his drink and grasped Liniang's hand holding the wine jug. Feeling a surge of excitement, he said, "Liniang, you have been my greatest supporter all these years; I knew I was right about you."
"My lord, how could you not know how I feel about you?" Liniang replied playfully. Her hand slipped slightly, spilling wine onto their tightly clasped hands, creating ripples like a stone thrown into a calm lake. She cast a shy glance at Bai Zhan and traced circles on his hand with her finger while a subtle smile played on her lips, stirring his heart.
"Liniang, Liniang..." After several cups of wine, Bai Zhan was intoxicated by both the good news about his daughter and Liniang's allure. Unable to sit still any longer, he swept aside the wine jug and dishes on the table and pressed Liniang beneath him. Their heavy breaths echoed in the room as Liniang blushed deeply beneath him. The heat surged within him as he captured her breaths with his mouth.
Liniang feigned resistance while gasping softly. Bai Zhan was most susceptible to her charms; after enduring humiliation for so many years, she had waited for this moment. If Bai Zhan secured his position in the future, even if Baike as Legitimate Daughter looked down on her, she would still be the matriarch of the Bai Clan with an unshakable status.
With this thought in mind, she devoted herself entirely to pleasing Bai Zhan. As it was afternoon, even the blazing sun could not hinder the springtime warmth that filled the room...

"Elder Brother, we don't know how long Baike will remain like this; should we call someone to examine her?" The Second Elder placed a hand on Baike's left wrist to check her pulse and wore a serious expression. It seemed that Baike's condition was not optimistic; even someone like the Second Elder who had some knowledge of medicine could not discern what was wrong.
The Grand Elder held the Bright White Stone in his hand. Hearing the Second Elder's words, he raised his head and glanced thoughtfully at Baike, who lay unconscious on the bed, and spoke with some concern, "This is the Capital of the Departed Nation. If we want to seek help, it might alert some people."
The Exiled Nation was not like the Dream Nation. Although the Bai Clan had some members, their strength was quite lacking. It was important to note that someone in the palace was still watching them; the foundation of the Bai Clan was still in his hands. If they were to change their minds and decide to place their future on Baike, what would the Sovereign of the Exiled Nation and Ouyang Hao think? Although it was still uncertain whether Baike was indeed a Legitimate Daughter, her injuries were evident, and as elders, they could not stand by idly. "Old Five, when under someone's roof, one must bow their head." The Grand Elder sighed deeply. After hearing the Grand Elder's words, the other Four Elders fell silent as well; even hot-tempered Elder Five found himself at a loss for words.
The Grand Elder was right; in recent days, Matriarch's cooperation had almost made them forget past grievances. Now that Madam Bai resided in Ouyang Hao's mansion, she naturally had to consider their feelings. If one were to analyze her attitude today, it wasn't unreasonable at all; rather, they should be grateful to her.
"Have you heard? Those guards brought Baike in through the Side Door." The Second Elder released Baike's hand and adjusted her blanket before walking over to stand beside the Grand Elder. Following his gaze, he could see Leaving the Royal Palace.
The Grand Elder nodded silently; this matter reflected Ouyang Hao's attitude.
If any Legitimate Daughter of the Bai Clan were not Ouyang Zixin in his eyes, then none of them would hold any significance to him—not even these old bones.
"Hmph! I merely wanted to dampen their spirits a bit. Coming to my Ouyang Xuan's Mansion and expecting to drive their carriage through the front gate while lying inside is some nonsense about being a Legitimate Daughter of the Bai Clan—what a dream!" Ouyang Hao blurted out without thinking and immediately realized he had misspoken upon seeing Bai Su’s expression.
