A lot of unexpected situations occurred overnight, leaving Ouyang Zixin feeling very exhausted. Even with Yun Tianmo accompanying her, she couldn't find relief, and ultimately, she chose to simply wipe herself down. Of course, whether she had been taken advantage of by Yun Tianmo was unclear to her; anyway, he considered himself a gentleman who would only keep watch and absolutely wouldn't do anything else.
Whether you believe it or not, I don't know, but Ouyang Zixin believed it.
She fell into a deep sleep in Yun Tianmo's arms, truly worn out. The dark circles under her eyes were so obvious that Yun Tianmo could only suppress himself and not disturb her rest.
"The Return of the Legitimate Daughter?" What does that mean? Ouyang Zixin herself didn't know, which left Yun Tianmo even more puzzled. However, one thing was certain: it seemed that a mysterious power had emerged within Ouyang Zixin.
Unbeknownst to Ouyang Zixin, Yun Tianmo examined her body. He found it strange that besides her own Mysterious Energy, there was also his Mysterious Energy inside her, which he had known for a long time. However, during his examination, he unexpectedly discovered several other types of Mysterious Energy had appeared in her body at some point, each with different properties that seemed to encompass all types of Mysterious Energy present in the Yuhai Continent.
This included the gradually forming Taiji Yin-Yang Bagua Diagram at her dantian. Just that diagram contained hers, his, and the Orange Element's energy. There was also a pure white Mysterious Energy whose origin and attribute he couldn't clarify in a short time.
Ouyang Zixin's situation was quite abnormal. Generally, it was impossible for a person's body to mix so many types of Mysterious Energy. Forcing multiple types of Mysterious Energy into a human body could lead to an explosion. Yet within Ouyang Zixin, these mixed Mysterious Energies surprisingly fused together in a very clever way and coexisted harmoniously.
Just moments ago, while Ouyang Zixin was wiping herself down, Yun Tianmo was astonished to discover yet another mysterious power had emerged within her. This time, this power wasn't Mysterious Energy; it seemed more like some substance—though that didn't seem quite right either. Its existence felt more like a certain aura...
The aura of a person.
How could there be another person's aura within one individual? It was simply unfathomable.
However, to be honest, this woman's figure was indeed quite impressive...
Yun Tianmo smirked. He had only examined the chaotic Mysterious Energies in her body for her own sake; he certainly wasn't trying to sneak a look.
With the beauty in his arms, images that stirred his heart floated through his mind. Fortunately for him, Yun Tianmo had good self-control; otherwise, Ouyang Zixin would have truly fallen into the jaws of the big bad wolf.
He lowered his head and placed a kiss on her forehead, as light as a feather brushing by. In her dreams, she felt a tickle and instinctively snuggled closer to him, revealing a hint of a sweet smile, as if she were having a beautiful dream. Her moist red lips glistened enticingly, drawing him in to explore. The fragrance on her breath was irresistible, causing a warmth to rise in his abdomen, and he found himself stiffening.
"Ah, what a tormenting little fairy," Yun Tianmo said as he lifted his head, no longer seeking her beauty, even though she had grown quite a bit. In his eyes, she still needed time to continue growing. Since he was willing to wait, he would absolutely not go back on his word.
Yun Tianmo closed his eyes and gradually steadied his breathing. This night had been tiring for both of them; although their situations were different, they ultimately shared the same destination.
Early the next morning, Ouyang Zixin was awakened by a commotion. Rubbing her eyes, she couldn't help but curse, "Disturbing my dreams is like killing my parents! Who is so ungrateful as to hold such deep enmity against me?"
The noise wasn't far off; it was clear that someone was coming. Ouyang Zixin stretched and stood up, looking up to find that the noisy ones were Nangong Tuo and Zhao Feiyu. How did these two end up arguing here?
"Third Prince, you care for Ouyang Zixin, but who cares for my brother? He has been missing for a day and a night! I came to ask Ouyang Zixin what we should do next; is that wrong?" Zhao Feiyu's voice was clearly filled with anger, and he no longer showed respect when facing Nangong Tuo.
"Still caring about family ties," Ouyang Zixin remarked. She had always thought that those who valued family wouldn't be too bad.
"No way! Ouyang Zixin was already so tired yesterday; let her rest more today. You can come back later," Nangong Tuo firmly shook his head. It wasn't that he didn't worry about Zhao Feihong—after all, he had once been saved from the stone wall by him. But worry aside, Zhao Feihong simply didn't weigh as heavily in his heart as Ouyang Zixin did. Therefore, he couldn't agree to disturb Ouyang Zixin's sleep just to search for Zhao Feihong.
"Are you being ridiculous? It's just sleeping! Can't you tell what's more important?" Zhao Feiyu was almost laughing out of anger. In the face of a life-and-death situation, how could he still care about whether Ouyang Zixin was getting enough sleep or sleeping well? It was absurd.
"Yesterday has passed; he is not in any danger," Nangong Tuo replied, feeling somewhat guilty under Zhao Feiyu's glare. Indeed, sleeping wasn't a big deal compared to someone's safety; not sleeping would be understandable in such circumstances. But human hearts are biased; he simply wanted Ouyang Zixin to sleep a little longer because he cared for her—was that wrong?
Thus, there are no absolute rights or wrongs in this world; it all depends on where each person stands.
"Third Prince, I truly feel sorry for my brother. After saving you right in front of me, how grateful you were! But now it seems you're just like everyone else. Step aside; I need to find Ouyang Zixin!" With that, Zhao Feiyu pushed Nangong Tuo aside and shouted, "Ouyang Zixin! Ouyang Zixin! Can you hear me? Wake up!"
Seeing her shout like that made Nangong Tuo anxious as he rushed forward to stop her. "Don't shout; your voice!"
"Enough! You two are really noisy," Ouyang Zixin said as she dug at her ears and stepped out from behind the stone corridor, looking at the two entangled figures with disdain. "Can't you save some energy early in the morning?"
Ouyang Zixin arrived. Zhao Feiyu's face lit up with joy as she hurriedly said, "Great, you're awake! Come on, let's continue our search and find my brother as soon as possible; it will reduce his danger."
Seeing that Ouyang Zixin was awake, Nangong Tuo no longer tried to stop Zhao Feiyu. Instead, he rushed over with a grin and asked Ouyang Zixin, "Why are you awake so early? Did you sleep well?"
"Third Prince!" Zhao Feiyu's nose crinkled in annoyance. Nangong Tuo truly couldn't tell the seriousness of the situation. She stepped forward and pushed him aside, grabbing Ouyang Zixin's arm and saying, "I know I shouldn't disturb you, but I'm really anxious. Even though my brother isn't in life-threatening danger, but..."
"It's good that you know you're being noisy. Just be more careful next time," Ouyang Zixin rolled her eyes. She shook off Zhao Feiyu's grip and said slowly, "Don't rush to look for him; you won't find him."
Zhao Feiyu was taken aback and quickly asked, "Why? Didn't you say we should search together yesterday?"
"We still need to look for the handprints, but as for your brother, let's forget it; searching would just be a waste of time," Ouyang Zixin waved her hand. Since she was awake, she planned to gather everyone to continue with yesterday's mission. But before she could take a few steps, she heard a loud "waah" behind her.
"Zhao Feiyu, can you stop crying at the drop of a hat?" It was early in the morning, and the noise was giving Ouyang Zixin a headache. She couldn't help but pinch her brow, feeling that maintaining a good mood early in the day was already difficult.
Zhao Feiyu cried terribly but genuinely; it felt like she had lost a beloved family member. Her shoulders shook as she sobbed uncontrollably.
Seeing this, Nangong Tuo felt pity as well. After all, she was Zhao Feihong's sister and had saved them once; seeing her cry so heartbreakingly made him speak up, "Is it really impossible to find him? Why don't we try again? Look at her; it's quite pitiful."
So men, in any situation, still understood how to cherish women. Although Nangong Tuo had previously stopped Zhao Feiyu from waking Ouyang Zixin, it wasn't out of malice; he simply had different priorities.
"What are we looking for? He's already gone; how can we find him? Why don't you go..." Before Ouyang Zixin could finish her sentence, Zhao Feiyu cried even louder. Suddenly feeling a throbbing pain at her temples, she raised her voice even more: "Crying won't help! Can you bring him back by crying?"
Seeing Ouyang Zixin's determination, Nangong Tuo didn't dare to say more and could only silently sympathize with Zhao Feiyu. He took a moment to remember Zhao Feihong and then walked over to pat Zhao Feiyu on the shoulder, saying, "Take care of yourself. Once This Prince gets out of the Millennium Ruins..."
"I don't want that! I don't want that! Ouyang Zixin, you're a liar! You clearly said my brother is fine; why is he not here today..." Tears streamed down Zhao Feiyu's face as she complained about Ouyang Zixin deceiving her. Although her brother's situation couldn't be blamed on Ouyang Zixin, lying was still wrong.
"Seriously? He's gone? You all have such wild imaginations! I think it's you who wish he were in trouble!" Ouyang Zixin was truly exasperated with these two. It was one thing for Zhao Feiyu to be overly concerned; adding an oblivious Nangong Tuo into the mix made it even more ridiculous. "What are you going to do once you get out of the Millennium Ruins? What do you mean by 'take care'? Bury him properly? Hmph, give me a break; he's not dead!"
"You, what do you mean?" Zhao Feiyu stood frozen in place after hearing Ouyang Zixin's words.
"Literal meaning! If you don't understand, it's because your brain isn't functioning well!" Ouyang Zixin had been woken up early and wasn't in the mood to be nice. Although she didn't mean to mislead them, she was too lazy to explain further. She left that remark and walked toward the center of the Underground Palace, thinking that Yun Tianmo and the others should have arrived by now.
"Ouyang Zixin, don't go! Clarify what you said!" Zhao Feiyu quickly wiped her eyes and chased after her. She realized that she seemed to have misunderstood something and needed to ask for clarification.
Seeing Ouyang Zixin walking away, Nangong Tuo also came back to his senses and followed after her, shouting, "Ouyang Zixin, slow down! Be careful not to fall!"
Pfft.
Upon hearing this, Ouyang Zixin almost spat out her drink. Was Nangong Tuo cursing her?
"Be gentle." Looking at Zhao Feiyu rushing toward her, Ouyang Zixin felt a deep sense of helplessness. "It's early in the morning; talk slowly like a sane person."
Zhao Feiyu swallowed hard, tears still not fully dried in her eyes as she looked at Ouyang Zixin with anticipation. "My brother is not dead?"
"Yes."
"Then your... your not being..."
Ouyang Zixin looked at her sympathetically and asked, "Child, when you wake up early, your brain can lack oxygen. Don't shout; it lowers your intelligence, got it?"
Zhao Feiyu nodded but then shook her head. "You still haven't answered me."
"Oh, that... your brother is no longer here. Hey, hold it together! If you dare to cry, I won't say another word!" Ouyang Zixin quickly interrupted when she saw Zhao Feiyu about to cry again. She threatened her while stepping back a few paces, hands raised in front of her chest to prevent any snot or tears from coming her way. "Um, don't cry. When I say your brother is not here, I mean he is not in this Millennium Ruins."
Zhao Feiyu stopped crying at Ouyang Zixin's words. Her red nose twitched as she processed the information. When she heard Ouyang Zixin clearly state that Zhao Feihong was still alive but had simply left the Millennium Ruins, she looked skeptical. "Are you trying to trick me again?" She pouted and looked like she was about to cry again.
"Wow, I can't believe you. Can't you understand human language? Your brother is alive and was sent out of the Millennium Ruins. He is back in the Yuhai Continent now, and there are people guarding him outside. What are you even worried about?" Ouyang Zixin really couldn't take it anymore and started to run. This Zhao Feiyu was simply impossible to communicate with.
"Are you sure?" Zhao Feiyu saw Ouyang Zixin running and followed closely behind her, asking, "Can I trust you?"
Ouyang Zixin wanted to say that it was up to her whether she believed it or not, but Zhao Feiyu's crying skills were truly terrifying. She quickly nodded, "I am someone you can trust."
Zhao Feiyu stared at Ouyang Zixin's profile, seemingly trying to determine if she was telling the truth. After a while, she said, "I believe you. But were you trying to mislead me just now?"
"No!" This was something she absolutely could not admit, especially since she really hadn't misled Zhao Feiyu. She had just been groggy after being woken up early, so her words weren't very clear. She definitely didn't intend to mislead Zhao Feiyu.
The two exchanged words and soon arrived at the center of the Underground Palace, where Nangong Tuo had been following them and also arrived.
Yun Tianmo and Yun Tianying seemed to have been waiting here for a while. When they saw the others arrive, they stopped their conversation.
"Zhao Feihong has gone out from the Millennium Ruins," Ouyang Zixin revealed the information that had appeared in her mind this morning. She had originally planned to tell Zhao Feiyu but was too anxious and ended up shedding a lot of tears for nothing.
"How did you find out?"
"It's a secret." Ouyang Zixin initially wanted to say it was her Sixth Sense but felt Zhao Feiyu's gaze beside her and quickly changed her words. Some things were better kept mysterious to avoid getting herself into trouble. (To be continued.)
