"Shattered. ↗Pinnacle Novel," Ouyang Zixin was taken aback. This shield was too fragile, wasn't it? Although she knew Yun Tianmo was formidable, it shouldn't have shattered so easily.
Nameless, while not very knowledgeable about Mystical Artifacts, was unique in that he noticed that although the shield was broken, each fragment was still connected in a way that was nearly invisible to the naked eye. When he pointed this out to Ouyang Zixin, she couldn't see any connection and instead gave Nameless a peculiar look before turning her attention back to Yun Tianmo and the shield.
The black Mysterious Energy scattered like the fragments, further dimming the already dark Underground Palace. Ouyang Zixin squinted her eyes, not wanting to miss any part of the process of collecting the Mystical Artifact, especially since it was only half done and its success was uncertain.
Yun Tianmo paid little attention to Ouyang Zixin's spectator mentality; his entire focus was on the Source Serpent Scale Shield. As expected of a Divine-Level Mystic Artifact, after enduring such a long passage of time, it still retained powerful devouring and backlash abilities. Just by slightly increasing his speed, the Source Serpent Scale Shield adjusted its state from a dormant defensive mode to one capable of both offense and defense. Its shattering had a simple purpose: if Yun Tianmo could not suppress it, the result would be that it would devour him.
The dangers involved were not for outsiders to know. Moreover, Yun Tianmo could only rely on himself at this moment. Not to mention the danger of failing to subdue the Source Serpent Scale Shield, there was also the fear that this Divine-Level Mystic Artifact might have absorbed human flesh and blood over millennia. If it transformed into a weapon of destruction, the continent would once again plunge into chaos.

"This Millennium Ruins is truly a wonderful place." Yun Tianying had been wandering through the Millennium Ruins for two days now. He initially thought it would be fraught with danger but found that not only did he encounter no threats, but he also discovered several beautiful sights.
Before him stood a Pavilion suspended over Lake Center, completely unsupported and existing in mid-air.
"Marvelous."
Yun Tianying first glanced into the lake and then smiled lightly. He slowly crouched down and stirred the water for a while, feeling that the chill was too intense. He was poisoned and could not allow too much cold energy to seep into his body. So even though he was tempted by the refreshing sensation, he withdrew his hand.
The Peerless Pavilion hung over Lake Center; the water was clear and undisturbed.
In recent years, due to Yun Tianmo, he has often come across some ancient materials related to history, among which there was a mention of a scenery similar to the pavilion in the lake before him, called Beautiful Scenery Without Form.
The term "Scenery" needs no explanation, while "Wuxiang" refers to the fact that although the lake water is clear and transparent, it cannot reflect any images, hence it is called Wuxiang. Just now, Yun Tianying had deliberately bent down to confirm this point. Indeed, the lake could not reflect any images, including human shadows.
Unexpectedly, a scene that could be considered unique from Five Thousand Years Ago also exists here. Is it that the sceneries are interconnected, or is this simply the Scenery passed down from Five Thousand Years Ago?
Although Yun Tianying still wore a warm smile on his face, his heart sank slightly. Whether the two sceneries were similar or if they were the same place he encountered was not necessarily a good thing for him. If he were not poisoned, he could explore this Beautiful Scenery Without Form; perhaps there would be opportunities waiting for him within. However, since he was severely poisoned and had not yet cleared it, if he were to exhaust himself during the exploration, it could pose a life-threatening danger.
Just as he hesitated, a gust of wind blew across the lake's surface, creating ripples that shimmered in the light, yet still failed to leave any reflection on the water. Yun Tianying sensed someone approaching but did not wish to move an inch. In his view, whether he stayed or left at this moment would lead to his discovery; it was better to remain unchanged in response to any changes.
It had been two days since he last encountered anyone; he just did not know whether this person was friend or foe.
A figure appeared on the opposite side of the pavilion in the lake, directly facing Yun Tianying. They exchanged a glance and both were momentarily taken aback. Then a flash of killing intent crossed Yun Tianying's eyes so quickly that even he nearly overlooked it.
The person opposite him was none other than Baike. Baike did not recognize Yun Tianying because this Seventh Prince rarely showed himself in public; however, due to his resemblance to Yun Tianmo, she guessed his identity at first sight.
The small lake was not large; soon enough, Baike circled around and gracefully bowed to Yun Tianying with a reserved smile on her face. Her every gesture exuded the demeanor expected of a noble lady. However, she was unaware that her appearance would not earn any admiration from Yun Tianying; instead, it would only increase his disdain.
"Seventh Prince, I didn't expect you to be the first person I encountered," Baike said with a cool voice that revealed no emotion. Yet it was evident that she was pleased to meet another living person. After all, she truly did not want to experience again the solitude she had felt in the secret realm years ago. So even though they had no prior acquaintance, she still took the initiative to greet him.
Yun Tianying's lips curled slightly upward as he replied with a smile full of warmth, "To encounter such a beauty in these Millennium Ruins is indeed something I have no regrets about."
Baike had heard such compliments many times before and was not naive enough to think that this Seventh Prince genuinely praised her. Reflecting on how those two from Dream Nation acted when they first met her—only to reveal their true colors when interests were involved—it was an ugly sight that made one feel nauseated.
“Do you know where this place is, Seventh Prince?” Baike, being a person of keen observation, noticed the strange nature of the lake when the wind swept across its surface. Since Yun Tianying arrived here before her, she thought he might know something.
“If you would kindly share your name, I will certainly tell you what this place is,” Yun Tianying said. He was handsome and refined, lacking the cold demeanor of Yun Tianmo. His voice was warm and pleasant to hear, so this abrupt question did not come off as offensive. Instead, it made Baike feel that this Seventh Prince was quite different from the seemingly gentle Fifth Prince of Dream Nation, and she secretly admired him a bit more.
“My surname is Bai, and my name is Ke.” The Bai Clan had chosen to live in seclusion, but they never intended for their members to hide their names, especially the Legitimate Daughter. Their education emphasized that anywhere and with anyone, they could proudly tell others their names because they were the noble Legitimate Daughters of the Bai Clan.
“So it is White Maiden. May I ask if White Maiden recognizes the Legitimate Daughter of the Bai Clan?” Yun Tianying concealed a smirk at the corner of his mouth, and his gaze toward Baike grew even gentler. (To be continued.)
