Lin Bingbing and her three close friends naturally followed Jiang Chen as they left. After Jiang Chen and the others departed, the manor erupted into chaos.
"The underground boxing match is canceled. You all better keep today's events to yourselves, or you'll face the consequences," Xiao Junyong warned before having his son's body taken away. His son's corpse remained, much luckier than Elder Cheng's grandson, which gave Xiao Junyong a slight sense of relief.
The other Underground Bosses from Central China felt a tinge of regret upon seeing that Xiao Junyong had not been killed. The events of the day would only be discussed in private; no one dared to spread the news.
As Lin Bingbing and her three friends walked out of the manor with Jiang Chen, she felt a pang of regret. If she hadn't called Jiang Chen, perhaps none of this would have happened.
"Jiang Chen, I'm really sorry for causing you trouble this time," Lin Bingbing said as she approached him, feeling quite guilty.
"It's just a small matter; there's no need to worry about it," Jiang Chen replied with a faint smile.
"But you killed two people. Even if they submit now, I think they'll still seek revenge in the future," Lin Bingbing expressed her concerns.
"That's fine. If they come after me, I'll just kill them," Jiang Chen said lightly.
Lin Bingbing was left speechless; she hadn't expected Jiang Chen to speak so casually about killing.
"Jiang Chen, I misunderstood you at first. If I said anything offensive, it was unintentional. Please don't take it to heart," Li Ruoxi interjected nervously.
"If I were to hold a grudge, would you still be alive?" Jiang Chen replied.
Li Ruoxi forced an awkward smile; at that moment, she was completely won over and dared not even look at Jiang Chen. He was no longer just a person; calling him a god wouldn't be an exaggeration.
"Bingbing, since we're in Jiang City, let's explore a bit. I've heard that Kuaijiang Bridge is beautiful at night," Jiang Chen suggested with a smile.
"Sure," Lin Bingbing nodded. Although she had concerns about the trouble Jiang Chen's actions might bring, since he seemed unconcerned, she decided not to dwell on it further.
"You all should join us," Lin Bingbing invited Li Ruoxi and the others.
Li Ruoxi and her friends exchanged glances but did not refuse. They felt reassured that Jiang Chen wouldn't harm them and were more curious about him instead.
"Jiang Chen, up ahead is Donghu; shall we go take a look?" Lin Bingbing asked.
"Let's head over there," Jiang Chen agreed. A few days earlier, they had visited West Lake in Hangcheng; exploring Donghu today would be nice as well. As he was about to walk forward, he noticed Lin Bingbing and her friends putting on masks and sunglasses.
They were popular stars; wandering around a scenic area without disguise would surely cause a stir.
"You don't need to disguise yourselves; I'll help you with that," Jiang Chen said. He then formed a hand seal and summoned Spiritual Energy to set up a small disguise formation around Lin Bingbing and the others. To outsiders, they would appear as ordinary women and would not attract attention.
Once the disguise formation was set up, Lin Bingbing and her friends looked at each other in surprise; they barely recognized one another. If it weren't for their unchanged outfits, they might have thought they were different people altogether.
"Jiang Chen, what just happened?" Lin Bingbing asked curiously.
"It's just a confusing formation that lasts about twelve hours, enough for us to explore Jiang City today," Jiang Chen said.
Lin Bingbing and the others looked astonished; Jiang Chen's abilities were truly beyond comprehension. With this disguise formation, even as celebrities walking among the crowd, no one would recognize them, which thrilled them immensely. Being a star could sometimes be quite dull; they couldn't even go to crowded places for fun. But today, Lin Bingbing and her friends could enjoy themselves thoroughly. They seemed to have forgotten the earlier scene in the manor, laughing joyfully, and even Liu Sisi had shaken off her earlier gloom and stopped thinking about Xiao He.
Donghu was vast, much larger than West Lake. After several hours of play, Jiang Chen and the others took a boat from Demon Mountain to the opposite shore as nightfall approached.
In the evening, they had dinner by Donghu and spent a few more hours enjoying themselves with Jiang Chen. Li Ruoxi and the others found that Jiang Chen was not difficult to get along with, so they became less reserved. As long as they didn't offend him, he was just like an ordinary person.
After dinner, night had fallen. Jiang Chen and his companions went to the riverside to see Jiang City and Kuaijiang University. The Kuaijiang Bridge shone brightly in the darkness like a rainbow spanning both banks. Walking along the riverbank, feeling the river breeze and watching the boats gliding across the river, Lin Bingbing and her friends were entranced.
"How about we rent a cruise ship to see the river?" Lin Bingbing suggested.
Li Ruoxi and the others naturally had no objections. They quickly went to the dock and rented a large cruise ship. With only Jiang Chen and his few companions aboard, there was plenty of space.
On the deck of the cruise ship, Jiang Chen and his friends enjoyed the river breeze leisurely while Lin Bingbing and her friends stood at the bow, reenacting a classic scene from Titanic.
"Jiang Chen, why don't you and Bingbing give it a try? I'll take your picture," Li Ruoxi encouraged with newfound courage.
"Ruoxi..." Lin Bingbing exclaimed upon hearing this, her face flushing even in the dark. After all, she had known Jiang Chen for too short a time; although he was powerful, she didn't know much about him otherwise.
"You guys have fun," Jiang Chen said with a smile.
Li Ruoxi naturally didn't dare to insist, and Lin Bingbing let out a sigh of relief. If Jiang Chen really wanted to reenact that iconic scene from Titanic with her, she wouldn't have dared to refuse, though she also felt there was no need to turn him down.
"Look! You guys look! Oh no, is that person going to jump into the river?" Liu Sisi suddenly shouted as they approached Kuaijiang Bridge.
Hearing this, Lin Bingbing and the others quickly looked up at the bridge's edge where there indeed stood a figure.
"Call the police! Hurry!" Lin Bingbing urged in panic.
At that moment, the figure jumped down without hesitation. Lin Bingbing and her friends were stunned into silence, their hearts aching for anyone witnessing such despair.
Jiang Chen frowned slightly; with his keen eyesight, he could clearly see that the jumper was a woman. She jumped decisively without much hesitation; falling from such a height into the water could easily lead to drowning or fatal injury upon impact.
Jiang Chen summoned his Sky Sword, transforming it into a streak of blue light as he soared through the air. His speed was so swift that even Lin Bingbing and her friends barely caught sight of him.
In just a few seconds, Jiang Chen returned to the deck, carrying the woman who had fainted from shock. Lin Bingbing and the others were once again left speechless as they witnessed Jiang Chen soaring back on his sword. He leaped off the Sky Sword, which transformed into a beam of light and vanished into the Storage Jade Gourd.
At that moment, Li Ruoxi, Liu Sisi, and Zhou Ailing exchanged astonished glances, their eyes revealing a hint of fervor.
