Anan rarely saw the young master smile genuinely. Although the little girl and boy in front of him were covered in patches, their pure eyes were unmistakable; they could be friends.
Soon, Anan came out of the kitchen with a plate of warm pastries, making Liu Qingyan swallow hard.
"Xiao Yan, hurry up and eat!" Yang Yichen said gently.
Liu Qingyan didn't reach out; he knew he shouldn't take someone else's things without permission, but he couldn't resist the aroma of the pastries and looked at Liu Qingxi with pitiful eyes.
Liu Qingxi paused his work and patted Liu Qingyan's head. "Young Master Yang said you can eat, so go ahead and thank him!"
"Yes, thank you, brother! Hehe!" Liu Qingyan touched the back of his head and reached out his little hand to grab one. At that moment, everyone noticed his dirty little claw!
With a glance from Yang Yichen, Anan quickly set down the plate. "Little brother, wait a moment! I'll get you some water to wash your hands!"
Liu Qingxi hurriedly intervened. "There's no need to go through so much trouble; just let Xiao Yan go with you!"
Liu Qingxi understood that Anan's politeness towards them was due to Yang Yichen, but they couldn't take this for granted. Anan was a servant of the Yang Family, not theirs.

Without waiting for a response, she eagerly brought a piece to Liu Qingxi's mouth.
Seeing the several boys nearby looking at her with expectant eyes, Liu Qingxi smiled and opened her mouth to eat: "Mmm! So good! Xiao Yan, you eat too; I won’t have any more!"
Liu Qingyan didn’t hold back either; she devoured the pastries, and before long, the entire plate was wiped clean.
At this point, Liu Qingxi's backpack was almost full. She called out to Liu Qingyan: "Alright, let's go. Thank you, Young Master Yang!"
"You're welcome! Just come back if you need anything next time!" Yang Yichen was clearly in a good mood.
