"The Beauty"
At that moment, the man in black turned around, his piercing gaze fixed on her as he said, "Huo'er, as long as you obtain Dongfang Hao's jade seal and kill him, you will be able to return to my side."
Upon hearing his words, the beauty quickly replied, "Yes, Master, Huo'er will complete the mission as soon as possible."
After listening to her, the man in black lightly nodded and said, "However, all of this can only begin once you sit on the throne of Empress of the Silver Moon Kingdom. Do you understand?"
After a gentle nod, the beauty said, "Master, Huo'er knows what to do."
The man in black nodded slightly at her words and swiftly left the Pear Blossom Palace.
As soon as he left the Pear Blossom Palace, people from the Asura Gate and the Demon Palace quietly followed behind him. Due to the distance, he was completely unaware that someone was tailing him.
However, upon reaching the streets of Silver City, he began to loop around the streets and alleys of Silver City.
Seeing his actions, those from the Asura Gate and the Demon Palace thought they had been discovered!
Just as they were puzzled, the man in black quickly changed direction and flew toward the city gate of Silver City, swiftly leaving Silver City.
Realizing what was happening, those from the Asura Gate and the Demon Palace understood that the man in black was testing to see if anyone was following him.
Indeed, it was because he sensed that someone seemed to be tracking him that he kept circling around Silver City to confirm his suspicions.
Seeing that the man in black had exited the city, those from the Asura Gate and the Demon Palace immediately followed him.
After leaving the city, the man in black headed directly to a cottage not far outside. After whistling once outside the cottage, a sharp whistle echoed from within.
After hearing the sharp whistle, the man in black swiftly floated into the Cottage.
Upon seeing that the man in black had entered the Cottage, both Asura Gate and the Demon Palace sent people back to report to their respective masters.
As for the others, they stayed behind to keep an eye on every move outside the Cottage, including those who entered and exited.
Once inside the Cottage, the man in black headed directly to the Reception Hall of the villa, where someone was already waiting for him.
When he arrived in the hall, an elderly man immediately knelt and greeted him, saying, "Greetings, my lord. May I ask if you have made any gains this time?"
Hearing his words, the man in black slightly nodded and replied, "Yes, Dongfang Hao intends to establish Huo'er as his heir."
Upon hearing this, the elderly man quickly responded, "Oh, is this news reliable? In my opinion, Dongfang Hao is not someone to be underestimated! My lord should be cautious; this news may be a trap!"
"I am well aware of that," said the man in black. "However, Huo'er has always been very cautious in her actions, so I believe this news is undoubtedly true."
The elderly man raised an eyebrow at his words and said, "But..."
Before he could finish his sentence, the man in black waved his hand to interrupt him. "Enough. No need for further discussion. You should hurry and prepare! Once Huo'er ascends to the position of Empress of Silver Moon Kingdom, we will take action."
"Yes, I obey your command." The elderly man quickly replied.
Afterward, he left the hall, and once the man in black saw that he had departed, he also left the hall swiftly to return to his own room to arrange matters for their 'net closing' plan.
Dongfang Hao, after listening to separate reports from Asura Gate and the Demon Palace, immediately instructed them to investigate who owned the Cottage and what kind of people were residing inside.
After receiving orders from their master, Asura Gate and the people from the Demon Palace immediately set out to investigate.
The Demon Palace, being a powerhouse, managed to uncover the identities of those individuals in just half a day. In contrast, Asura Gate was not as efficient, taking a day and a half to clarify the situation inside the Cottage.
In the palace, there are usually no secrets.
Soon enough, the Empress Dowager and Lan Shumin learned that Emperor Dongfang Hao's choice for his consort was the beauty sent by Haotian Kingdom.
Naturally, they were quite unwilling to accept this. Therefore, they each sent people to Pear Blossom Palace to make trouble.
Dongfang Hao was aware of their little schemes but did not intervene. In fact, he was quite pleased to see them fighting among themselves!
This way, he could avoid a lot of trouble and enjoy the show, so why would he stop them?
That night, both the Empress Dowager and Consort Shu sent people to deal with that beauty. Their methods were identical: they quietly poured kerosene around Pear Blossom Palace and then set it ablaze.
Meanwhile, Dongfang Hao and Mu Xi dispatched people to surround the Cottage that night, bringing along Asura Gate and the people from the Demon Palace to the outside of the Cottage.
On the surface, only Asura Gate appeared while the Demon Palace remained hidden in the back, following at a distance.
Standing outside the Cottage, Dongfang Hao raised his hand slightly, and everyone threw their torches into the Cottage.
After throwing the torches, they began shooting arrows into the Cottage.
Suddenly, countless screams erupted from within the Cottage, and many people rushed toward the door in an attempt to break free.
Dongfang Hao saw that some people had already broken through, so he waved to signal the Asura Gate members to start eliminating the enemies.
Before Dongfang Hao and his group arrived at the Cottage, the Elder of the Cabinet inside had already heard that a large number of people were rushing towards the villa.
He immediately reported this to his master.
Upon hearing this, the man in black quickly sent someone to investigate what was happening and who was coming.
Before those sent out could return, he found himself surrounded. The man in black couldn't help but furrow his brow deeply.
While he was frowning, the old man ran over and told him to quickly leave through the secret passage inside the villa.
However, the man in black did not leave; he stood there resolutely. At that moment, the old man said to him, "Your Highness, as long as we have the green mountains, we need not worry about firewood. We should leave here first!"
After hearing his words, the man in black finally reacted. He scanned the Cottage once more and said to the old man, "Let's go!"
They then took their five trusted subordinates and arrived at a rockery. The man in black quickly pressed a hidden mechanism concealed within the rocks.
Immediately, an entrance to a tunnel appeared. They swiftly entered the tunnel and disappeared from in front of the rockery.
Inside the tunnel, it was dark, and they could only rely on their torches for light to see the path ahead.
They thought that as long as they exited this tunnel, they would be safe and could rest easy. Little did they know that even greater dangers awaited them ahead!
Before long, they reached the exit of the tunnel; however, outside was brightly lit with torches everywhere and crowds of people.
Upon seeing the torches outside, they couldn't help but be taken aback, thinking, "Oh no, they already know there's a secret passage here."
After exchanging glances with the old man in black, the man decided to stay put in the tunnel for now, waiting for those outside to leave before making their exit.
However, everything had been meticulously planned by Dongfang Hao, so how could there be any oversights?
Standing guard outside the secret passage, Miyazawa noticed that time had long passed, yet those people still hadn't appeared. Following his master's orders, he deliberately had some wet firewood brought over and placed at the tunnel's exit to burn.
Immediately, thick smoke began to waft into the tunnel. Soon enough, the men in black were coughing incessantly from the smoke.
The oxygen inside the tunnel was gradually being replaced by smoke, causing tears to stream from their eyes. Slowly, they could no longer endure it and were unable to hold on.
Thus, they shouted loudly for those at the entrance to stop burning and expressed their willingness to come out.
Upon hearing their words, Miyazawa gestured for his subordinates to cease their actions and let them out.
However, even a cornered rabbit can bite back; how much more so for someone dangerous!
As soon as they stepped out and steadied themselves, they simultaneously launched a surprise attack on the nearest Demon Palace Disciple. However, the people from the Demon Palace were not ordinary opponents, so even their sudden assault couldn't take down a Demon Palace Disciple in one go.
Seeing them act just as his master had predicted, Miyazawa couldn't help but think to himself, "My master truly is a genius! He even guessed this."
Raising an eyebrow at the man in black, Miyazawa slowly said, "Lord Chu, you might as well surrender! You won't be able to escape."
Hearing his true identity revealed so easily took Chu Zhaonan by surprise; not only him but even the old man beside him was equally astonished.
Indeed, the man in black is the young prince of the Nomadic Kingdom—Chu Zhaonan.
The beauty Huo'er was indeed a gift from the Haotian Kingdom to Dongfang Hao, but Huo'er was also a pawn that Chu Zhaonan had specifically arranged within the Haotian Kingdom.
His goal is quite simple: he wants to use Hao Tian's hand to covertly turn the Silver Moon Kingdom into his territory under the Nomadic Kingdom.
The Haotian Kingdom is completely unaware of this. However, their purpose in sending Huo'er to Dongfang Hao is also to have Huo'er gather intelligence beneficial to Hao Tian.
Chu Zhaonan fixed his gaze on Miyazawa and asked, "Who exactly are you?"
Upon hearing his question, Miyazawa replied calmly, "You only need to know that my master is the emperor of the Silver Moon Kingdom; you do not need to know anything else."
"Why?" Chu Zhaonan asked without hesitation.
"Because the dead do not need to know." As soon as he finished speaking, Miyazawa swiftly moved in front of Chu Zhaonan and launched an attack with lightning speed.
Feeling the danger approaching, Chu Zhaonan quickly sidestepped and evaded Miyazawa's attack.
However, before he could regain his footing, Miyazawa's next wave of attacks was already upon him. Thus, he had no choice but to dodge again.
As they exchanged blows, they quickly engaged in over ten moves. Suddenly, Chu Zhaonan noticed a weakness on Miyazawa's right side.
He swiftly maneuvered to Miyazawa's right flank and launched a fierce counterattack.
However, upon seeing Chu Zhaonan move to his right side, Miyazawa showed no signs of concern or defense; instead, he revealed a cold smile.
Indeed, that weakness was deliberately exposed by him, with the intention of taking down Chu Zhaonan in one strike.
Before Chu Zhaonan's attack could reach him, he suddenly spun around rapidly, using his agile form to slip behind Chu Zhaonan and delivered a fatal blow.
Chu Zhaonan's heart had been pierced by Miyazawa, and his body fell to the ground like a rag doll.
The old man and the other loyal followers, seeing their lord had been killed, immediately felt a surge of determination to avenge Chu Zhaonan, even at the cost of their own lives.
With this thought in mind, they quickly sprang into action.
They charged at the nearby enemies like starving wolves that hadn't eaten in days, each strike aimed to kill, each move ruthless beyond measure.
However, their martial arts skills were relatively weak; only the old man's abilities could match those of the disciples from the Demon Palace. Yet their numbers were overwhelmingly insufficient, and soon they were all eliminated by Miyazawa's subordinates.
After carefully checking the forest to ensure there were no survivors, Miyazawa instructed his men behind him, "Set fire to this place and leave no trace whatsoever."
Upon hearing his command, his subordinate quickly replied, "Yes, I will take care of it right away." With that, he called upon other disciples from the Demon Palace to set the mountain ablaze.
Dongfang Hao stood outside the Cottage. Upon receiving reports from Asura Gate's subordinates that everyone inside had been dealt with, he ordered them to burn down the Cottage as well, ensuring that not a single clue remained.
