Five Poisons Elder sharply scrutinized Luo Bingbing and Shadowless before shaking his head slightly and quickly leaving the latest chapter.
Seeing him leave, Shadowless felt a heavy weight lift from his heart. Luo Bingbing, noticing his departure, calmly asked, "Shadow, who was that person? Why did he make you so nervous?"
Upon hearing Luo Bingbing's question, Shadowless hurriedly replied, "Master, he is the Five Poisons Elder from Five Poisons Mountain. His personality is quite strange, but his poison is extremely potent. If someone is poisoned by him and doesn't have his unique antidote, it cannot be cured."
Luo Bingbing nodded slightly after hearing this but did not say anything further.
Meanwhile, the waiter, who had just gotten up to open the door for guests, noticed two seemingly wealthy patrons at the entrance and quickly welcomed them inside.
Once Luo Bingbing and Shadowless entered, the waiter approached them with great enthusiasm and asked, "Are you two here to stay or to eat?"
After asking, the waiter glanced at Shadowless, thinking that the little girl beside him looked only about five or six years old and probably had never been out, so she likely understood nothing.
Shadowless seemed oblivious to the waiter's gaze and did not respond. Luo Bingbing furrowed her brow slightly and calmly countered, "What do you have to eat at your establishment?"
The waiter was anxiously waiting for Shadowless's response when he suddenly heard the little girl's question. He momentarily lost focus but quickly regained his composure. He thought to himself, "So this little girl is actually the main one!"
Realizing his mistake, the waiter quickly approached Luo Bingbing with a smile and replied eagerly, "Dear guest, since it's still early and you know our establishment has just opened, we currently only have plain porridge available." As he spoke, he observed the expression of the little girl in front of him.
Upon hearing the waiter's response, Luo Bingbing raised an eyebrow and slowly asked, "Do you have any side dishes?"
"Yes, yes," the waiter quickly answered.
"Then bring three bowls of plain porridge and two side dishes."
"Yes, yes! I'll get that for you right away."
After hearing the waiter's words, Luo Bingbing nodded slightly and fell silent. The waiter saw her nod and went off to prepare their breakfast.
Shadowless had already prepared a table and a chair for Luo Bingbing during their conversation with the Waiter. Seeing that the Waiter had stepped back, he quickly invited Luo Bingbing to sit down.
"Master, please take a seat there!" Shadowless said to Luo Bingbing calmly.
Upon hearing Shadowless's words, Luo Bingbing nodded lightly and walked slowly to the chair to sit down. After sitting, she noticed that Shadowless was still standing beside her without any intention of sitting down, so she spoke up, "Ying, you should sit down too!"
After hearing Luo Bingbing's words, Shadowless quickly replied, "I am not tired; standing is fine."
"What? Are you ignoring what I said? When I tell you to sit down, just sit down. Why so much nonsense?" Luo Bingbing raised an eyebrow and said.
Upon hearing his master's words, Shadowless hurriedly sat down. Seeing him seated, Luo Bingbing said lightly, "Ying, is two bowls of plain porridge enough for you? If not, feel free to order more."
After listening to Luo Bingbing, Shadowless felt a bit touched but maintained his composure and calmness. He replied softly, "Thank you for your concern, Master. Two bowls of plain porridge are enough for me for breakfast."
After hearing Shadowless's response, Luo Bingbing nodded slightly and fell silent.
After a while, the Waiter brought three bowls of plain porridge and two small dishes to the table. After placing them down, the Waiter said, "Please enjoy your meal," and then stepped back.
Looking at Shadowless across from her, Luo Bingbing said lightly, "Hurry up and eat! After you're done, go find two horses; we need to get going!" With that, she and Shadowless picked up their chopsticks to eat breakfast.
It is said that the assassin Speed is the fastest, and this statement couldn't be more accurate. Just look at Shadowless: before Luo Bingbing had even finished one bowl of porridge, he had already consumed two.
Seeing that Shadowless finished his breakfast so quickly, Luo Bingbing instructed him to find the Waiter and ask him to take him nearby to buy horses. After hearing her words, Shadowless hurried off to find the Waiter, requesting him to take him to buy horses in the vicinity.
Since it was still early in the day, the horse market had not yet opened. Fortunately, there was a merchant nearby who specialized in selling horses. Thus, the Waiter took Shadowless to that merchant's place.
Arriving at the merchant's door, the Waiter knocked on it. Initially, there was no response from inside. Seeing no one answering, he knocked again on the merchant's door while loudly calling out, "Open up! Open up! Hurry up and open the door; business is here!"
As the Waiter continued knocking and shouting outside, someone finally responded from within. A loud voice asked, "Who is it? Who is shouting outside?"
Upon hearing the question from inside, the waiter quickly responded loudly, "I am Liuzi, the waiter from Lai Fu Tower. Hurry and open the door; a gentleman wants to buy your horse."
When the person inside heard that someone was coming to buy a horse, he quickly got dressed and came out to open the door. As soon as he opened it, he saw that Liuzi had indeed brought a young gentleman dressed in a Black Brocade Robe, so he hurriedly invited both of them into the courtyard.
Once inside the courtyard, Shadowless looked around but did not see any horses. He then asked, "Where are the horses?"
The merchant realized that the young gentleman was indeed there to buy a horse and quickly replied, "The horses are in the stable at the back. Let me take you to see them!" After a pause, he continued, "Well, we had good business yesterday and sold more than ten horses. Right now, there are only a few expensive ones left in the stable."
After saying this, he couldn't help but sneak a glance at the young gentleman beside him. Seeing that the young man remained expressionless and didn't even blink at his words, the perceptive merchant felt relieved, thinking that the transaction with this young gentleman would go smoothly and he could make a good profit. With this thought, he couldn't help but smile inwardly.
The merchant led Shadowless and Liuzi to the stable in his backyard. Shadowless immediately noticed a white Red Hare inside the stable, which seemed quite suitable for his master to ride. He instructed the merchant to bring out that Red Hare.
With his master's horse chosen, only his own remained. So, he walked over to the side of the stable and carefully examined the horses inside. Suddenly, he spotted a rather weak-looking steed in the corner—a Sweat Blood Horse. His eyes brightened as he approached to observe it closely.
After inspecting it, he realized that this Sweat Blood Horse was weak due to poisoning; it looked as if it were on the verge of death. However, he knew that it had only been affected by a common poison—perhaps it had accidentally eaten some toxic grass while grazing!
But detoxifying it was quite simple; that kind of antidote herb was readily available everywhere. Therefore, he decided to choose this Sweat Blood Horse for himself.
Liuzi was an outsider and did not understand horses, but the merchant was knowledgeable and well-versed in equine matters. He saw that Shadowless had chosen two of his best breeds and speculated that perhaps this young man was also knowledgeable about horses.
He found no surprise in Shadowless selecting the white Red Hare but felt puzzled when Shadowless chose the sickly Sweat Blood Horse that had been ill for several months without recovery. The merchant thought that horse was nearly dead. Thus, while he felt confused about Shadowless's choice of the sick horse, he chose not to voice his thoughts.
As a businessman, of course, he hoped to sell his goods regardless of their condition—as long as there was money to be made! So when he saw Shadowless select the nearly dead Sweat Blood Horse, he opted for silence.
What he did not know was that this young man already understood that the Sweat Blood Horse was sick and even knew its cause and how to treat it; there was no need for him to worry unnecessarily.
After asking the merchant how much both horses cost in total, Shadowless paid directly without haggling. Having been an assassin before, he preferred straightforwardness.
The merchant thought that since the Sweat Blood Horse seemed near death and might pass away any day now—fearing that Shadowless might return if it died soon—he refrained from asking for too high a price.
After purchasing the horse, Shadowless returned to Lai Fu Tower with the Waiter, each leading a horse. After handing over the reins to the Waiter, Shadowless went inside to report to Luo Bingbing.
Seeing Shadowless walk through the door, Luo Bingbing gently set down her teacup and said calmly, "You're back. Has everything been taken care of?"
"Yes, my lady, everything is settled," Shadowless quickly replied.
Upon hearing Shadowless's words, Luo Bingbing slowly stood up and said lightly, "Since we've bought the horses, let's set off quickly!" As she spoke, she walked outside.
Shadowless saw Luo Bingbing heading out and hurriedly turned to follow her. After taking the reins from the Waiter, Shadowless helped Luo Bingbing onto the snow-white Red Hare while he mounted the blood-sweating horse. Before leaving, Shadowless casually tossed a gold ingot to the Waiter and then followed Luo Bingbing as they rode away.
Luo Bingbing was quite pleased with the snow-white Red Hare that Shadowless had chosen for her. Although she didn't particularly like the color white, she appreciated things that felt comfortable and clean.
The Waiter was taken aback when he received the gold ingot tossed by Shadowless. Hearing the sound of hooves, he quickly shouted after Shadowless, "Sir, you don't need to give so much."
All he received in response was Shadowless's increasingly distant figure and the fading sound of hooves. Just as he was unsure of what to do next, he suddenly heard the voice of a Little Girl in his mind. "The rest is your tip."
The sudden voice of the Little Girl startled him greatly. However, upon hearing that the remaining amount was meant as a tip for him, he felt nothing but joy.
When they left the small town and reached a hilltop, Shadowless deliberately slowed down his Speed to find some herbs to detoxify his blood-sweating horse. After consuming the detoxifying herbs, the horse quickly regained its strength and swiftly chased after the Red Hare ahead.
Due to Luo Bingbing's fondness for sports in modern times—having tried and learned various activities—her horsemanship was quite impressive.
