Luo Bingbing's voice still echoed in Mountain Valley, but she had already teleported back to her room.
The Snow Spirit Elder was filled with confusion. Just moments ago, he and the Little Doll were still in the Little Doll's room, yet in the blink of an eye, they found themselves in this desolate wilderness.
Before he could make sense of it, he heard Luo Bingbing's clear and youthful voice. Quickly snapping back to reality, he turned toward the source of the sound, but all he saw was a patch of weeds—there wasn't even a trace of a person, let alone Luo Bingbing.
At that moment, his confusion deepened. The person who had just been there was now gone, even though her voice still lingered in Mountain Valley! Had she hidden herself?
He smiled slightly and couldn't help but shout into the air, "Little Doll, where are you?" But all that responded was the echo of his own voice bouncing back from the valley.
It was only then that he realized he could move and speak. He began to pace around the mountain, calling out loudly, but after going around in circles, he still saw no sign of Luo Bingbing, nor did he receive any response.
So, he found a large rock nearby, squinted his eyes, and lay down to rest.
However, don't think he was sleeping; he was deep in thought, carefully recalling everything that had happened since he met Luo Bingbing. He tried to figure out why he had suddenly been immobilized by her Ability and how they ended up here, as well as why she had vanished so abruptly.
Time flew by!
Seconds turned into minutes, yet his mind remained blank with no clues at all! Every answer seemed to elude him. Frustrated and weary from pondering, his stomach growled at just the right moment. He decided to push those perplexing questions aside and set off in search of a place with people where he could fill his stomach and clean himself up.
Meanwhile, after using her Ability to teleport back to her room, Luo Bingbing listened closely; the Nursemaid was still fast asleep and hadn't woken up. She quickly changed her clothes and got into bed.
As soon as the little fox saw Luo Bingbing return, it joyfully leaped into her arms. When it noticed she was going to bed, it happily pounced toward the bed as well. However, before it could land, Luo Bingbing kicked it away mid-air.
Its heart plummeted from the heights to the depths in an instant as it looked at Luo Bingbing with a very aggrieved expression, seemingly pleading for her to change her mind and let it sleep on the bed too.
But who was Luo Bingbing? A witch from the Twenty-First Century—would she ever agree? The answer was clear: not a chance.
As the sun rose over the mountain that day, Luo Bingbing finally crawled out of the warm bed, while the Nursemaid had already been waiting in the courtyard. The moment she saw Luo Bingbing open the door, she hurriedly brought in the toiletries for her to wash up.
After breakfast, Luo Bingbing and the Nursemaid lay on the lounge chairs in the courtyard, soaking up the sun. Luo Bingbing squinted her eyes slightly, appearing to be asleep, but the Nursemaid knew that her Little Princess was not actually sleeping; she was deep in thought.
"Nursemaid, do you have any wishes?" Luo Bingbing asked casually, boredom evident in her voice.
The Nursemaid was puzzled by her question and didn't quite understand what Luo Bingbing meant by "wishes." After thinking for a moment, she tilted her head and asked, "Princess, what is a wish?"
Realizing that she had used a modern term that the ancient Nursemaid wouldn't understand, Luo Bingbing calmly explained, "A wish is something you hope for or want to do the most." After a pause, she continued, "Do you have one?"
"Oh! So that's what it means! What I want to do most is..." The Nursemaid began to respond but was interrupted by the voice of Lo An Lord.
"What are you two chatting about so enthusiastically?" The sound of his voice reached Luo Bingbing and the Nursemaid before he even arrived.
Upon hearing his voice, Luo Bingbing frowned slightly but made no further movement, continuing to lie back with her eyes closed.
The Nursemaid was different; as soon as she heard Lo An Lord's voice, she immediately stood up to greet him. When Lo An Lord and Strategist Gongsun Ming approached her side, she quickly performed her greetings.
They merely nodded in acknowledgment and proceeded towards their target—Luo Bingbing. Strategist Gongsun Ming slightly cupped his hands in greeting and said, "I pay my respects to Princess; may you have good fortune!"
Luo Bingbing remained reclined on the lounge chair with her eyes still closed and simply nodded in response.
Lo An Lord noticed her indifferent demeanor and called out, "Bing Bing! Are you awake? Have you eaten breakfast yet?"
Luo Bingbing suddenly opened her eyes wide and turned her head to ask, "Is there something?"
"Is it so that Father can't come to see you and check on you?"
Luo Bingbing looked him up and down, shook her head, and slowly said, "You can't pretend in front of me. Just say it! What’s the matter?"
Lo An Lord and Strategist Gongsun Ming were both stunned, frozen in place. Even the Nursemaid behind them was startled, thinking: How can the Little Princess speak to the Lord like that? Isn't that too rude?
The first to regain his composure, Lo An Lord smiled and asked, "Bing Bing, actually Father doesn't have anything important. He just wanted to ask if you've been practicing lately?" After saying this, he fixed his gaze directly on Luo Bingbing.
Without a moment's hesitation, Luo Bingbing replied, "Yes! What's wrong with that?"
Upon hearing her response, Lo An Lord and Strategist Gongsun Ming were once again taken aback. They were astonished; clearly, the Minggang sentries in the palace had not detected any signs of her going out or coming back. Even Lo An Lord himself had stood guard outside Piaoyun Pavilion all night without noticing her presence.
They couldn't help but wonder: Could her martial arts skills be superior to anyone in the palace? That would explain why no one could detect her movements. Tsk tsk! This girl is quite terrifying!
While they were still lost in thought, Luo Bingbing's clear and youthful voice rang out. "With their mediocre skills, how could they possibly discover me? It's absolutely impossible."
Luo Bingbing confidently provided them with the answer they were thinking, as if she were a worm in their stomachs.
After hearing her words, Lo An Lord and Strategist Gongsun Ming exchanged glances and nodded subtly. Lo An Lord then asked, "Bing Bing, do you go to practice every night in the Purple Bamboo Forest outside Back Mountain?"
"Uh-huh! Is there a problem?" Luo Bingbing lightly nodded and asked.
