Lo An Lord pinched her small nose and said with a hint of regret, "You little girl really have no conscience!"
"By the way, why were you being chased last night? Who were those people after you?" Luo Bingbing activated her Ability, transmitting her question directly into Lo An Lord's mind.
Suddenly hearing Luo Bingbing's voice in his head startled Lo An Lord, causing him to exclaim inwardly, "Goodness! Just how high is this girl's martial arts? She can transmit her voice without moving her mouth." Although he was quite surprised, he maintained a stern expression and replied, "Why are you asking so many questions, little child?"
Upon hearing this, Luo Bingbing shot him a cold glare and slowly said, "Don't treat me like an ordinary child, and don't compare me to those dimwits; it lowers my status. Remember that? Also, if you need my help, just say the word."
"You clever little thing, I knew I couldn't hide it from you. Let's go to my study later!" He then called for the butler and instructed that from now on, all matters in the residence would be decided by Little Princess and must not be disobeyed.
As the butler hesitated, Luo Bingbing's voice floated into his ears. "What's wrong? Do you have any objections?"
Before the butler could respond, the strategist spoke up first. "Little Princess is a reincarnated fairy; do you really want to go against fate?"
Hastily, the butler replied, "I wouldn't dare." He turned to inform others of Lo An Lord's orders.
Meanwhile, the princess and Madam Xiang were both furious and unwilling. However, no matter how much they schemed or plotted, they could not control the unfolding events or Luo Bingbing's fate.
"Nursemaid, you should go rest for now! I have matters to discuss with Father," Luo Bingbing said as she turned to the Nursemaid behind her.
Upon hearing her words, the Nursemaid quickly responded, "Yes, Little Princess. I will go prepare some food for you."
"No need; from now on, let those maids and servants handle the rough work! You just need to stay by my side." After saying this, she waved her hand at the Nursemaid to signal her to leave. Then she turned back to Lo An Lord and said, "Let's go! To your study."
Lo An Lord nodded slightly and turned to Strategist Gongsun Ming. "Let's go! To the study." Ignoring the crowd of relatives and family behind him, he stepped forward with Luo Bingbing in his arms toward his study.
After hearing Lo An Lord's words, Strategist Gongsun Ming bid farewell to Consort Luo and Madam Xiang before quickly following in Lo An Lord's footsteps.
In an instant, the once noisy and crowded courtyard became empty, leaving only Consort Luo and Madam Xiang along with their Personal Maid and the loyal housekeeper of Prince Luo's Residence. They exchanged glances before heading toward Consort Luo's Azure Water Pavilion to plot their next scheme.
In the study, Lo An Lord sat in a Carved Wooden Chair with Luo Bingbing still cradled in his arms. It seemed he had become addicted to holding her and was reluctant to put her down for even a moment.
As for Luo Bingbing! She thought that being carried like this was free and far more comfortable than that hard wooden chair; why would she want to get down? Let him carry her.
Strategist Gongsun Ming stood opposite the father and daughter, his gaze fixed intently on Luo Bingbing. He slowly spoke, "Little Princess, are you really only six years old? No matter how I look at you, you don't seem like a child of that age!"
Luo Bingbing looked up at him, a slight smile playing on her lips as she mischievously replied, "You already said it earlier, didn't you? Back in the courtyard, weren't you the one who called me a fairy? Have you forgotten so soon?" She couldn't help but think to herself, I'll make you regret calling me a fairy.
The strategist was momentarily taken aback. "This... this... I..." He stammered, unable to continue. With his keen observation skills, he realized that Luo Bingbing was teasing him for his earlier words, but he found himself at a loss for how to explain. From that moment on, the reputation he had built as someone with an unyielding tongue was completely shattered.
"Hahaha..." It was rare to see the iron-tongued strategist at such a loss, and Lo An Lord couldn't help but laugh heartily.
Suddenly, Lo An Lord's loud laughter echoed throughout the study. After a while, he noticed that he was the only one laughing like a madman in the room. He quickly stiffened his face and stopped laughing.
Looking up at the strategist across from him, who wore a gloomy expression, he realized that this strategist seemed quite frustrated. Then he glanced down at the Little One in his arms and found her still wearing an expressionless face. He couldn't help but feel disheartened; while the strategist's expression was somewhat understandable, this little girl was being far too cold!
"Have you laughed enough? Let's get down to business! First, tell me why you were being chased last night!" Luo Bingbing casually tossed the book she had been holding onto the desk and said slowly.
When it came to serious matters, Lo An Lord and the strategist straightened their faces. They exchanged glances before Strategist Gongsun Ming began to explain why they had been pursued.
He glanced at the Little One sitting in Lo An Lord's arms and then slowly said, "I was being chased by assassins sent by General Lan of the current dynasty." He paused for a moment, looking at Luo Bingbing again. He thought to himself that he had embarrassed himself too much in front of Lo An Lord earlier and needed to redeem himself. He figured that if Little Princess wanted to know more, she would surely ask.
However, after a while, Luo Bingbing remained with her eyes narrowed, seemingly uninterested in knowing why they were being chased. He thought perhaps if he waited a little longer, she would eventually ask. Time ticked by, yet the Little One still kept her eyes closed without any reaction.
At this point, he felt anxious and restless. Just when he didn't know what to do anymore, the Little One finally spoke up. Hearing Luo Bingbing's voice filled him with joy; he thought to himself that he had succeeded.
But after hearing her words, regret washed over him. He wished he could find a hole to hide in or just smash his head against a block of tofu.
"What? Have you really forgotten? You don’t remember what happened last night? Are you sure you’re not suffering from dementia? Do you want me to call a doctor for you?" Luo Bingbing exclaimed shockingly, speaking with an attitude that could drive anyone mad.
"Truly a case of losing more than one gains; it seems one cannot provoke her," the strategist thought bitterly.
"Hahaha..." Lo An Lord burst into laughter once more.
Luo Bingbing's lips curled into a sly smile. "Are you both bored? If you're not going to talk about it, I might as well go back to sleep." She shot them both a fierce glare as she finished her sentence.
Upon hearing his beloved daughter's words and seeing her warning gaze, Lo An Lord quickly reined in his playful demeanor and signaled to the strategist with his eyes to continue speaking.
After receiving the warning and suggestive glances from the father and daughter across from him, the strategist quickly continued.
"The military forces of the Silver Moon Dynasty are roughly divided into three factions, each controlled by three individuals. One portion is in the hands of the current emperor, another is held by the prince, and the last is with Consort Shu's father, General Lan.
General Lan is ambitious and has always sought to seize the military power from the prince. He has been constantly creating trouble for the prince. Upon hearing that the prince was returning to his residence, he sent assassins to intercept and pursue us on the way. I have no idea how he learned about the prince's return, but he caught us completely off guard. If we hadn't encountered you, Princess, outside Back Mountain, his scheme might have succeeded."
"There are traitors in the army, right beside you." After listening to Strategist Gongsun Ming's account, Luo Bingbing pointed out the crux of the matter succinctly.
The silent Lo An Lord suddenly realized something upon hearing his beloved daughter's words. He was secretly astonished; this little one had grasped the key point and answer after just a few sentences from Gongsun Ming. Her reaction was too quick—she was remarkably clever! Thankfully, she was his daughter; otherwise, it would be terrifying!
While Lo An Lord was lost in thought, he heard Luo Bingbing's clear yet youthful voice again. "You must send people to investigate secretly right away. Keeping a tumor like this close by could lead to an explosion at any moment."
Hearing her words, the strategist, being a scholar by nature, immediately displayed a spirit of inquiry and asked without hesitation, "Little Princess, what do you mean by explosion?"
"It means there is danger at all times, and it could be fatal—just like what happened to you last night," Luo Bingbing replied with a frown.
"Oh... I see now. I have learned something valuable."
