Du Xiaonan has gone missing. 0

Su Jin'er really couldn't believe that she had only been here for a short time and had already experienced everything she had never encountered in the past eighteen years. Although people die every day in this world, and everyone is destined to walk a path toward death from the moment they are born, no one can escape it. Therefore, she was not afraid of death; in the end, everyone must die, and it is just a matter of whether it happens early or late. 0

However, now, their four-person dormitory had suddenly become a two-person space. What once felt a bit cramped now seemed empty. 0

"Jin'er, do you think we might suddenly go missing too?" 0

"Don't say that. Maybe Xiaonan just slipped out when we weren't paying attention." 0

Su Jin'er and Linyuan huddled closely together, their eyes wide as they scanned every corner of the dormitory. After what had just happened, Su Jin'er herself didn't know if she should still believe that there were no ghosts in the world. At this moment, she was truly scared; that deep-seated fear made her spirit nearly crumble. She thought that even the strongest-willed person would be broken under such circumstances! 0

When did she start to firmly believe that there were no ghosts in the world? She remembered her mother once saying that when she was four or five years old, she had a sudden fever at her grandmother's house one night. In her delirium, she looked out the window and kept calling out "ghost." The family was terrified; her mother, who never believed in demons, insisted on taking her to the hospital. However, the fever persisted, and she remained in a dazed state until her grandmother called for a shaman from the village to help her wake up. 0

But her mother insisted it was the medicine that worked, so she also did not believe in demons. 0

Yet now she began to doubt whether she truly did not believe or if she simply did not want to believe. 0

"Should we go out to look for her? It's already dark; could she be in danger?" Linyuan looked outside; it was pitch black, with only a few faint lights coming from the windows of the dormitory building ahead. 0

Su Jin'er also looked up at the window. What exactly was that thing that had nearly taken her soul? Where had Du Xiaonan gone? The door was still securely closed; even if she had left on her own, why hadn't either of them heard anything? 0

"Jin'er, I'm so scared. Do you think the ghost I saw could be Xiaoqing? Is she back for revenge?" 0

"Xiaoyuan, I told you not to scare yourself. If there really were ghosts, then why would what you saw be different from what I saw?" 0

"You—did you see it too?" 0

Su Jin'er nodded heavily. "Yes, I saw Zhang Junsheng's head." 0

…… 0

The dormitory was silent; they could only hear each other's rapid breathing. 0

"No, Xiaonan might be in danger. We have to find her," Su Jin'er suddenly said. Li Yiqian was already missing, and she couldn't let Du Xiaonan go missing as well. Regardless of whether the cause behind these events was human or ghostly, she had to stop it all. 0

Seeing Su Jin'er's determined gaze, Linyuan also stood up abruptly. "Alright! I've made up my mind. No matter if the other party is human or ghost, we must stop them and find Qian Qian and Xiaonan." 0

Although what had just happened scared them, they were not the type to stand by and do nothing. So Su Jin'er called Chu Feifan and Zuo Yi to join them in the search; after all, they were still girls. 0

They went to the gazebo they often visited. Perhaps due to the cold weather, there were no couples outside tonight. The wind was biting cold, cutting against their faces like knives. Shivering inside the gazebo, they listened to Su Jin'er and Linyuan recount their experiences, and they too felt that things were very strange. 0

"Have you searched everywhere? What about the top floor of the dormitory?" Chu Feifan asked them. 0

"If she went to the top floor, there should be some noise..." At this point, Su Jin'er suddenly stopped, her eyes widening in terror. "How could I forget such an important clue!" 0

"What clue?" the three asked in unison. 0

"The scream! Why did only I, Xiaoyuan, hear it? Didn't anyone else in the other dormitories hear it? And at this time, shouldn't everyone be asleep?" 0

Everyone couldn't help but gasp; this matter was indeed strange, unless that scream was not made by a human. 0

"Forget it, let's find Du Xiaonan first!" Zuo Yi said. 0

Everyone nodded in agreement. 0

They had searched almost every corner of the school but had not found Du Xiaonan. However, there was one place they had not checked—the Old Laboratory Building. Since the discovery of Li Ran's body there, it had been sealed off by the police. No one was allowed to enter except for the investigating officers, and all the experimental equipment that had been inside had been removed. 0

"Isn't that place sealed? Would she go there?" Linyuan asked, trembling. 0

"Well, that's the only place we haven't checked. We have to go look for her; otherwise, she might end up like those three." 0

After making their decision, the four of them quietly headed toward the building. The wind seemed to have picked up a bit; Su Jin'er tightened her clothes. Every time they went to the Old Laboratory, she felt a chill creeping down her neck. 0

The wind rustled the leaves, making a "rustling" sound, but thankfully it didn't reach the level of a ghostly wail. 0

"Look, there seems to be a figure over there!" Linyuan exclaimed. Just as they arrived at the foot of the Old Laboratory, they spotted a silhouette. 0

"Shh! Don't say anything; let's go take a look." 0

They cautiously approached, but in the stillness of the night, it seemed that human hearing became exceptionally sharp. The figure hiding in the darkness moved slightly and then quickly turned and ran into the woods, disappearing swiftly into the silent night. 0

"He ran away," Su Jin'er sighed in disappointment. 0

"Could this be another informant? Or is he the Killer?" Zuo Yi murmured while stroking his chin. 0

"Forget it, finding Du Xiaonan is more important!" Chu Feifan shone the light into the pitch-black Old Laboratory. 0

That figure felt so familiar to him, as if he had seen it somewhere before, but he couldn't recall. Although he was running fast, his legs seemed injured, causing him to limp. 0

The four of them cautiously approached the Old Laboratory. It was unclear whether the Old Laboratory truly held something strange, but each step they took felt particularly difficult. 0

"Why can't we even see the moon?" Linyuan trembled, pressing tightly against Su Jin'er. 0

Chu Feifan looked up at the sky and then lowered his gaze to the door in front of him. He reached out and pushed open the rusted iron door of the Old Laboratory. 0

"We'll go straight to the third floor." Su Jin'er's voice was soft, yet in this silent and oppressive space, it sounded particularly eerie. 0

"Why? Would she really come here in the middle of the night?" Zuo Yi asked in surprise. 0

"Hehe! If she were a normal person, she definitely wouldn't come here at this hour. Of course, that doesn't include those who are bold or have urgent matters." 0

"Yeah! Ever since Li Yiqian disappeared, things haven't been normal! Sometimes when I see her eyes, it terrifies me!" Linyuan nodded in agreement. 0

During this time, they had been driven nearly mad by Du Xiaonan. She walked without making a sound and often appeared suddenly behind them or knocked on the bathroom door while they were inside. When they opened the door, no one would be there. Just as they were about to close it, she would suddenly appear again, staring at them with lifeless eyes. Even more frightening was that she would get up in the middle of the night and sit by their beds, grinning eerily at them. 0

Sometimes, they genuinely considered sending her to a mental hospital, but they felt sorry for her. Every time they saw a once lively and adorable girl now turned into this way only strengthened their resolve to uncover the truth. 0

Suddenly, Su Jin'er ran upstairs frantically, not knowing why she was running, only that a voice in her heart told her that if she didn't hurry, something terrifying would happen. 0

She ignored the surprised shouts from the people behind her and continued to run up to the third floor. 0

Standing in the corridor, she widened her eyes at the white figure at the end of the hallway—it was Du Xiaonan. 0

Du Xiaonan's body floated in mid-air, her back turned to Su Jin'er, preventing her from seeing her face. Her instincts told her that Du Xiaonan was not dead; as long as she went over to save her, she wouldn't die. However, fear had rooted her feet to the ground. 0

"Jin'er?" 0

Linyuan and the others finally arrived. It had only been a few minutes, but it felt like centuries to her. 0

"Quick, save her!" She finally found her voice again. 0

As they rushed over, they discovered that Du Xiaonan was desperately clutching her own neck, her body suspended in the air, eyes wide open as if her eyeballs were about to pop out. 0

Oh my God! Despite this, she was still smiling—a strange smile directed at them. 0

The sight sent chills down their spines. 0

"Let's put her down first!" 0

Chu Feifan and Zuo Yi slowly pulled down on her waist, but suddenly Du Xiaonan's body collapsed completely. 0

After placing her on the ground, Chu Feifan said strangely, "How could this happen?" 0

"What's wrong?" Su Jin'er asked. 0

"Nothing!" 0

Looking at Du Xiaonan on the ground, they were astonished to find that her face, which should have been red from struggling to breathe, was now as pale as a corpse. Yet her hands were still tightly gripping her own neck. They tried hard to pry her hands away but found her surprisingly strong. 0

"What should we do? We can't just watch her choke herself to death!" A few of them sat on the ground, panting, watching Du Xiaonan's breathing grow weaker. 0

Su Jin'er pulled a hairpin from her hair and jabbed it into Du Xiaonan's acupoint. 0

Du Xiaonan's body trembled for a moment, then she released her grip. The others hurriedly held down her hands to prevent her from choking herself again. 0

After about ten seconds, Du Xiaonan slowly opened her eyes, then let out a gasp before fainting again. 0
