Luca stood at the edge of a tall building, the night wind howling against his cheek, his heartbeat echoing in his chest like distant drumbeats. His gaze pierced through the city lights, searching for the discordant notes hidden in the darkness. Ever since he awakened his powers, his nights no longer belonged to tranquility and solitude, but to guardianship and battle.
A few days ago, Luca had saved a woman from a robbery by chance. He used his Light and Shadow Ability to silently approach the criminals and subdued them in their terrified gaze. That experience made him realize that his power could be used to protect innocent people. However, Luca also discovered that his actions had drawn the attention of certain individuals. He began to feel as though someone was watching him from the shadows, tracking him. He knew he could not let his guard down and had to use his powers more cautiously.
Tonight, he decided to take the initiative and seek out those who were following him. He closed his eyes, focused his mind, and extended his perception to every corner of the city. His heartbeat synchronized with the pulse of the city, allowing him to feel every faint fluctuation.
Suddenly, he sensed an unusual presence. He opened his eyes and locked onto a secluded alley where three figures were moving stealthily, their gazes occasionally darting toward the high building where Luca stood.
Taking a deep breath, Luca's body began to blur as if merging with the surrounding night. He gradually became transparent until he completely vanished into the air. This was another of his abilities—Invisibility. He leaped lightly from the tall building, using the power of Light and Shadow to slow his descent and landed silently on the ground.
He approached the three figures quietly; they seemed unaware of his presence. Luca overheard their conversation.
"The boss said this Luca is not simple; we need to be careful," one said.
"What are you afraid of? We've dealt with powered individuals before," another replied.
"Shut up, don't underestimate him; the boss specifically sent us to observe him for a reason," warned the third.
Luca furrowed his brow, realizing these individuals were not ordinary criminals; they might be members of some organization. He decided to follow them to see if he could find more clues.
He trailed them through several streets until they arrived at an abandoned factory. The factory's doors were tightly shut, but loud noises emanated from within. Luca used his ability to enter the factory silently.
Inside, it was dim and chaotic; several people in black uniforms were busy at work. Luca hid in the shadows, observing their actions. He saw them assembling strange devices that emitted faint glows, seemingly containing some form of energy.
Luca's heartbeat quickened as he realized these individuals might be plotting something significant. He decided to continue observing for more evidence.
Just then, a man in a black trench coat walked in. His gaze was sharp, and his steps were steady, exuding an aura of authority without anger. Luca sensed a powerful presence emanating from this man.
"How's it going? Are we ready?" the man asked.
"Almost there, boss," one subordinate replied.
"Good. We can't let that Luca ruin our plans," the man's voice carried a hint of coldness.
Luca's heart tightened; he knew he could not wait any longer. He had to take action to stop their plans.
He silently exited the factory and returned to his hideout. He knew he needed a plan—a plan that could destroy this organization in one fell swoop.
Back home, Luca sat in front of his computer and began searching for information about this organization. He discovered that it was called "The Shadows," specializing in finding and exploiting powered individuals for their purposes. Luca realized he might not be the only one targeted by them.
He decided to contact other individuals with abilities to form an alliance to collectively fight against the "Shadows." He knew it would be a difficult battle, but he also understood that he could not face it alone.
He began posting information on the dark web, seeking those willing to join him. He realized this might expose him to greater dangers, but he also knew it was his only option.
A few days later, Luca received a response. An ability user named Amy reached out to him. Her power was the manipulation of electrical currents, and she had once been a target of the "Shadows" but had managed to escape successfully.
Luca and Amy met at a café. Amy was a young woman with a determined gaze, filled with a longing for freedom.
"I've heard about your situation, and I'm willing to join you," Amy said.
"Thank you, we need more allies," Luca replied.
"I have some insider information about the 'Shadows' that could help you," Amy said.
A glimmer of hope flashed in Luca's eyes; he knew this battle was just beginning.
