The people of Chen Family Village are hardworking and united, so everyone who is free has participated in the work, leading to rapid changes in the village.
Actually, Chen Haoxuan could have asked the villagers to donate money and hired people to do the work, but he was concerned that the villagers would be reluctant to spend money and also worried that they wouldn't want to invest that much. Therefore, he decided to have the villagers do the work themselves, which saved a lot of money since they had little else to do.
Chen Haoxuan did not require the villagers to invest much; he only asked each person over 16 years old to invest five hundred yuan. If someone couldn't afford that, they could invest one hundred yuan instead, but their share of the year-end dividends would be less. To ensure fair distribution of shares, Chen Haoxuan stipulated that each villager could invest a maximum of one thousand yuan and a minimum of one hundred yuan.
Now, the food and drinks for the villagers while they work come from their own funds. Chen Haoxuan is responsible for purchasing supplies and temporarily storing them. Since Li Ping is still unfamiliar with her managerial role, she follows Chen Haoxuan around all day, learning diligently from him.
Chen Haoxuan called Jiang Dong and his group to help the villagers with their work for free. When they started working, the villagers were shocked and gasped in amazement. They saw Jiang Dong and his team carrying heavy stones weighing hundreds of pounds down the mountain without breaking a sweat. It was astonishing that they could all lift such heavy stones.
The stones Jiang Dong's team carried were used to create steps. With these steps, there would be no need for cement in constructing the reservoir, saving a significant amount of money. The stone blocks they carried were cut using electric saws for speed; hence, they were large and long compared to others who struggled with smaller stones requiring multiple people to carry them down.
The stones were a pink variety that wasn't very hard, making them easy to saw through. There was an abundance of this type of stone around Chen Family Village because it was surrounded by high mountains. The area where Jiang Dong's team worked was a large, square-shaped mountain. Chen Haoxuan had a purpose for having them gather stones from this mountain; he wanted to build a temple there. He instructed Jiang Dong's team to create a hole at the base of the mountain and start digging for stones.
This way, not only could they build a temple, but they could also use the excavated stones for steps at the reservoir—truly killing two birds with one stone.
Many people did not understand why Chen Haoxuan wanted to build such a large temple. Was he a Buddhist?
In reality, Chen Haoxuan was thinking about Chen Family Village. He wanted to add a unique feature by building a temple that could attract tourists. With tourists visiting, there would be opportunities for business and profit for the villagers. Additionally, Chen Haoxuan aimed to transform Chen Family Village into a paradise where everyone could live comfortably.
On the hillside near the reservoir, one villager quietly said to those around him, "Hey, what do you think about Haoxuan's subordinates? They all seem incredibly strong! Look at that one over there; I think his name is Zhang Tiezhu. The stone pillar he's carrying looks like it weighs around a thousand pounds!"
"Haoxuan is an important figure; how could his subordinates be ordinary?" another villager replied.
"Have you all forgotten? In the past, Haoxuan's subordinates were not as powerful as they are now. I think they must have taken some kind of drug to become so strong," another villager speculated.
Chen Shugen happened to walk by and overheard the villagers' conversation. He spoke up, "You should not speak out of ignorance. Haoxuan's subordinates have gained their abilities through hard work. Haven't you seen them training every day? If you could also persist in training like them, you wouldn't be much worse off. So from now on, don't speak carelessly, or if Haoxuan hears you, you'll be in for it."
"Hehe... we were just joking, we won't take it seriously. We won't say anything like that again..." The villagers were still quite afraid of Chen Shugen; after all, in their eyes, he was an authority figure and they should listen to him.
Chen Haoxuan had the villagers build nearly ten large reservoirs. Although the reservoirs were large, they were not very deep; the deepest part was only about five or six stories high. When these ten reservoirs were completed, the banks and surrounding areas were filled with bamboo. After waiting a year or two, Chen Family Village would become very beautiful. It took three months to complete this work, and fortunately, there were many people in Chen Family Village. Additionally, Chen Haoxuan gave those working in his company time off to return home to invest and help out. As a result, around five to six thousand people participated in this project; without such a large workforce, it would not have been possible to finish building the ten reservoirs so quickly.
With the reservoirs completed, Chen Haoxuan helped the villagers procure many items: water pumps, chickens, ducks, geese, pigs, and fish fry. He instructed the villagers to use the water pumps to draw water from the river into the reservoirs because he wanted to make money quickly and could not wait for rain. Chen Haoxuan arranged for Li Ping to manage chicken and duck farming... Those without jobs were assigned various tasks; some were sent to plant trees, others were assigned to cook for the villagers at home, while some were tasked with sanitation work. This sanitation was no trivial matter; they even needed to clean up on the mountain—pulling out small trees by their roots and planting grass while watering larger trees.
After temporarily arranging all the work, Chen Haoxuan let Li Ping manage things on his own while he took Jiang Dong and others into a mountain that had already been excavated into a house. He gave each of them a piece of paper and asked them to carve what he had drawn on the paper onto the exterior of the house. He did not expect Jiang Dong and the others to create masterpieces; he only hoped they could carve out a rough shape.
Chen Haoxuan divided Jiang Dong and his group into two parts: one part would carve on the outside while the other followed Chen Haoxuan inside to carve Buddha statues. The work inside was simpler; they only needed to carve out a rough shape which Chen Haoxuan would then finish.
Chen Haoxuan dedicated himself wholeheartedly to Chen Family Village. The villagers saw him carving Buddha statues in the mountains every day for their benefit, which motivated them to work even harder.
In these six months, no one in Chen Family Village was farming; everyone worked alongside Chen Haoxuan on various strange projects. Initially, Chen Haoxuan just wanted to help the villagers earn some money casually. However, seeing how diligent they were made him decide to help them earn big money instead. He invested one million in Chen Agricultural Company and became its largest shareholder.
