Chen Haoxuan saw the black-hearted pursuers in the rearview mirror of his car. A sly smile crept onto his lips as he muttered to himself, "I'm heading to the police station; let's see if you dare to follow."
Chen Haoxuan was relaxed, unconcerned about being caught by the black-hearted group. He maintained a safe distance from them. Despite their desperate attempts to catch up, pushing their vehicles to the limit, they couldn't close the gap with Chen Haoxuan. Their motorcycles and vans, costing only a few thousand and tens of thousands respectively, were no match for Chen Haoxuan's million-dollar BMW.
As traffic increased on the road and pedestrians crowded the sidewalks, the black-hearted group began to worry. If they attempted to kidnap Chen Haoxuan in front of so many witnesses, the police would surely be alerted. Gradually slowing down, the leader gestured for his subordinates to retreat.
Back at their hideout, he sat on the sofa, displeased. "Now Chen Haoxuan knows we want to kidnap him, and he's likely heading straight for the police station. What should we do?"

"But now that Chen Haoxuan is at the police station, how can we kidnap him? Do you want me to storm the police station?" The leader shot Mosquito a glare.
"Boss, you're misunderstanding me. I'm not suggesting we storm the police station to kidnap Chen Haoxuan. What I mean is that we don't necessarily have to kidnap him directly. Don't you remember that beauty, Chen Yina? She's Chen Haoxuan's girlfriend now. If we kidnap her, do you think he wouldn't agree to our demands?" Mosquito grinned maliciously.
"Would he really give up billions of Renminbi for a woman?" The leader questioned. If it were him, he certainly wouldn't part with such wealth—billions could support many mistresses; why spend so much on just one woman?
"Boss, I can guarantee that Chen Haoxuan would agree because I've looked into it. He and Chen Yina are childhood sweethearts who grew up together; their bond is very deep. Plus, since they're a couple, he wouldn't have a choice even if he didn't want to comply. I also found out that Chen Haoxuan comes from a complicated family background; years ago, when his family made some money, they abandoned him. He has relied on Chen Yina's family for support ever since. He owes her and loves her, so you don't need to worry—once we kidnap Chen Yina, Chen Haoxuan will agree to any terms we set," Mosquito said cunningly.
Hearing Mosquito's words made the leader happy. He stood up and walked over to Mosquito, patting him on the shoulder with excitement. "Mosquito, I knew I didn't misjudge you. Rest assured that if our extortion succeeds, your share will definitely be more than anyone else's."
"Then I'll thank you in advance, Boss," Mosquito replied gratefully as he stood up.
"Brothers, let's move out and capture Chen Yina as soon as possible. If we manage to get her before Chen Haoxuan calls the police, we won't be in any danger and can count our money in peace," Hei Xin shouted to his subordinates. After finishing his words, he led his men in two vans and three motorcycles towards Chen Haoxuan's residence.
At that moment, Chen Haoxuan was standing outside the police station, contemplating whether to report the situation. After smoking a cigar for a while, he tossed it to the ground and walked towards the police station.
Suddenly, his phone rang. He glanced at the caller ID and saw it was Lin Hao calling. A sense of foreboding washed over Chen Haoxuan; he suspected that Chen Yina and her group had encountered kidnappers as well.
Chen Haoxuan quickly pressed the answer button and asked, "Lin Hao, is something wrong?"
"Yes, Boss, there’s a group of thugs outside our house trying to break in. They even have guns. Boss, you need to call the police quickly! If we wait any longer, we’ll be in danger," Lin Hao replied anxiously.
"No matter what, you must ensure Nana's safety, understood? Hold on a little longer; I’ll bring the police over right away," Chen Haoxuan said.
Just after hanging up, his phone rang again. This time it was an unknown number. Out of curiosity, Chen Haoxuan answered while walking into the police station. "Hello, who is this?"
"Chen Haoxuan, it's me—the one who just tried to kidnap you. You better not think about calling the police because your girlfriend is already in our hands. If you report it, we will kill her," Hei Xin's voice came through the phone.
"Let’s talk this out; don’t harm her. Otherwise, I won’t let you get away with it," Chen Haoxuan said angrily.
"First, don’t call the police. Second, give us five hundred million Renminbi. The money needs to be deposited into the bank accounts I specify. That’s how it will be; I’ll call you when I think it’s appropriate," Hei Xin said before hanging up.
"Five hundred million Renminbi? These kidnappers have quite an appetite!" Chen Haoxuan muttered to himself before quickly turning around and running outside.
Meanwhile, Chen Yina and her group were in a dire situation. If they hadn't barricaded the door with a sofa, Hei Xin and his men would have already broken in. "Open the door! If you don’t open it soon, we’ll ram it with a car!" Hei Xin shouted from outside, growing impatient as he worried that if this dragged on too long, the police would arrive.
Inside the room, Lin Hao turned to Chen Yina and said, "Nana, you and Li Jun along with Li Botao should leave through the back door. I'll hold them off here."
"It's dangerous here; you should come with us!" Chen Yina said, touched.
"If there’s no one here, they will definitely know we’ve escaped and will chase us relentlessly. But if I stay, I can keep negotiating with them to buy you time to escape," Lin Hao said seriously.
"Lin Hao, you and Li Botao take Nana and run through the back door! I'll stay here to cover for you," Li Jun said loyally.
"I'm the captain; listen to me. Hurry up and go! If we don't leave now, we won't be able to escape at all," Lin Hao whispered urgently to Chen Yina and the others.
"Nana, let's go!" Li Jun urged Chen Yina.
"Lin Hao, just hold them off for a few minutes so you can escape quickly, okay? We'll go first; be careful," Chen Yina said tearfully to Lin Hao, deeply moved by his willingness to stay behind and fight for their safety.
