Chen Haorong ignored Chen Haoxuan's words and continued to run. Suddenly, he saw a flash of silver light pass by his ear, followed by a crisp sound as something struck the wall of a building in front of him. When he looked back, a chill ran through him; it was a Machete, wobbling but stuck firmly in the wall. This proved that the Machete had embedded itself deeply, and the force and accuracy behind it filled him with immense fear.
He imagined what would have happened if Chen Haoxuan had aimed for his head; he could picture his skull splitting in two. A sliver of doubt lingered in his mind—he couldn't be sure whether Chen Haoxuan was trying to scare him or if he had simply missed.
Despite these thoughts, he dared not run any further; he wouldn't gamble with his life. Chen Haorong turned around, fear evident in his eyes as he looked at Chen Haoxuan standing ten meters away. With a trembling voice, he asked, "What do you want?"
"I want to know how someone like you can change. I've never provoked you, yet you keep coming after me. If I don’t resist, you think I’m afraid of you. Chen Haorong, let me make it clear: you will pay a hundredfold for what you've done to me in the past. Don’t worry, I won’t kill you, but I will make you regret living in this world," Chen Haoxuan replied coldly.
"Do you mean you're going to let me go?" Chen Haorong asked, confused.
"Yes, but I need to teach you a lesson first; otherwise, it would be too easy for you. Come here," Chen Haoxuan said to Chen Haorong.
Chen Haorong took hesitant steps forward, slowly approaching Chen Haoxuan. Fearfully, he said, "What do you want? I'm your brother; don’t do anything reckless."
Chen Haoxuan pulled out a small knife and a lighter. After igniting the lighter, he used the flame to heat the knife. What was he doing? Was he sterilizing the knife or just playing with fire?
"What are you doing?" Chen Haorong asked again, feeling an unsettling sense of dread as he realized the knife somehow related to him.
"I know you love causing me trouble, and my memory isn’t great either. So to ensure I don’t forget how many times you've bothered me, I came up with a method that will remind me every time I see you. Can you guess what it is?" A sinister smile crept across Chen Haoxuan's face.
"What are you planning? Just let me go; I promise I won't bother you again," Chen Haorong pleaded in fear.
"Your memory is as poor as mine; otherwise, why would you keep coming after me despite all the times I've taught you a lesson? To enhance our memories a bit, I've decided to carve a line on your face. Every time you provoke me again, I'll carve another line," Chen Haoxuan said with a cold laugh.
With a loud thud, Chen Haorong knelt before Chen Haoxuan, his voice thick with fear. "Chen—no, brother, brother, I was wrong. Please let me go! I truly understand my mistake. If you spare me, I will let you move back home."
"Oh, am I your brother? This seems to be the first time you've called me that. You say you'll let me move back? To your house? Do you think I would live in your small villa worth just over a hundred thousand? I live in a luxury villa worth millions. There's no way I'm going to live in that rundown place of yours—do you think I'm a fool? Let me tell you, I have a connection to your family, but that connection is filled with hatred, not affection," Chen Haoxuan replied coldly.
"Brother, I'm your real brother! You can't harm me, I'm begging you." Chen Haorong clung to Chen Haoxuan's leg, pleading desperately. He was acting out of fear; if Chen Haoxuan hadn't threatened him, he wouldn't have dared to point a machete at Chen Haoxuan's head.
"Don't worry, I'll be very gentle," Chen Haoxuan said with a faint smile that held an air of malice.
Chen Haoxuan pulled out a lighter and suddenly grabbed Chen Haorong by the neck with his left hand while slowly pressing the small knife against Chen Haorong's face with his right.
Chen Haorong could feel the intense heat from the blade; his heart sank completely. He began to cry out, "No! Brother, I'm your brother! Please don't!" His words sounded as if Chen Haoxuan were about to assault him.
With a hiss, a thin wisp of smoke rose from Chen Haorong's face as Chen Haoxuan drew the red-hot knife across it. No blood flowed because the wound had already been cauterized.
"Ah—my face, my face..." Chen Haorong rolled on the ground, screaming in agony and looking quite pitiful.
"You've disappointed me so much. I only lightly grazed your face and barely cut your skin, yet here you are rolling on the ground. I’m starting to doubt whether you're even a man," Chen Haoxuan said with a look of disappointment as he watched Chen Haorong writhing on the ground and laughed mockingly.
"Alright, you can leave now. If you don't get out of here, I'll make more cuts on your face," Chen Haoxuan shouted angrily at the crumpled figure of Chen Haorong.
Chen Haorong scrambled to his feet and fled in a mix of crawling and running.
Watching Chen Haorong's disheveled retreating figure, Chen Haoxuan muttered to himself, "Why would such a coward dare provoke someone like me? Is he impatient and looking for death?"
At that moment, Jiang Dong and the others ran out of the supermarket and approached Chen Haoxuan. Jiang Dong looked at Chen Haoxuan with admiration and said, "Boss, you are amazing! You single-handedly made twenty or thirty people flee in panic. By the way, we saw you holding what seemed to be a powerful weapon in the supermarket. When it touched someone, their skin looked like it was being scraped off. What kind of weapon is that?"
Chen Haoxuan raised his hand and replied to Jiang Dong, "This is that weapon; I made it from steel wire. Remember this: anything can be a weapon as long as you use it properly. It can be just as lethal as a machete or something similar. Just like the boxing gloves I'm using now, a simple fist can unleash tremendous power. It can not only injure the enemy but also scare them."
"Boss, why didn't you let us join in earlier? You, a Big Boss, fighting against a group of thugs—how impressive!" Jiang Dong said. When Chen Haorong and his group arrived earlier, they wanted to rush out and teach Chen Haorong a lesson, but they were stopped by Chen Haoxuan.
"Chen Haorong believes I rely on you all. He thinks that without you by my side, I'm just a helpless fool waiting to be slaughtered. Today, I revealed my skills to show him that even without you, I still don't take him seriously," Chen Haoxuan explained confidently.
