As soon as the sound echoed, Zhu Tian felt his face burning with pain. He was so furious that he could almost faint. He would rather Chen Haoxuan hit him anywhere else than have his face slapped in front of his subordinates; this single slap had completely ruined his image.
"Chen Haoxuan, I'm going to kill you." Zhu Tian lunged at Chen Haoxuan, while his subordinates attacked from behind.
"Today, if I, Chen Haoxuan, don't take you all down, I won't bear the Chen surname." Chen Haoxuan was also furious.
"Ahhh..." The chilling screams echoed from the alley, causing the residents living nearby to hesitate to step outside.
The screams eventually ceased. In the dead-end alley, ten student delinquents lay on the ground moaning, while Chen Haoxuan slowly approached Zhu Tian with a brick in hand.
At this moment, Zhu Tian no longer had the courage to confront Chen Haoxuan; he was terrified by Chen Haoxuan's ferocity. He regretted provoking this strange monster. "Y-You stay away, don't come any closer..." Zhu Tian kept retreating, his voice tinged with pleading.
"I told you, becoming my enemy is a terrifying thing. Just admit your misfortune!" Chen Haoxuan sneered.
Seeing that Chen Haoxuan had no intention of letting him go, Zhu Tian turned to flee. However, there was no way Chen Haoxuan would allow that; he quickly caught up with Zhu Tian and knocked him down with a kick. "Ouch!" Zhu Tian exclaimed as he lost his balance and fell to the ground.
"Next time you see me, it's best to take a detour." After saying this, Chen Haoxuan swung the brick forcefully toward Zhu Tian's head.
With a dull thud, the brick shattered into pieces, and blood began to flow from Zhu Tian's head. "Ahhh..." Zhu Tian rolled on the ground in agony from the pain in his head.
The reason Chen Haoxuan dared to strike Zhu Tian with a brick was that he had calculated it beforehand; the brick was light and had many cracks. It was clearly of poor quality and would break easily upon impact; otherwise, he wouldn't have dared to hit someone with it.
Chen Haoxuan dusted off his hands and hummed a leisurely tune as he walked out of the alley towards New City University.
Chen Yina had been waiting at the university gate for Chen Haoxuan. When she saw him leisurely walking towards the university, her anxious heart finally relaxed, and a sweet smile appeared on her lips.
When Chen Haoxuan reached Chen Yina, he smiled and said, "See? I told you I would be fine."
"What about Zhu Tian and the others?" Chen Yina asked curiously. Based on previous experiences, Chen Haoxuan should have been beaten up by Zhu Tian and his friends before being let go, but today, nothing seemed to have happened to him.
"Oh, them! I knocked them all down. I believe they will avoid me from now on. Anyway, you don't need to ask how I got so strong because I don't know either. Let's go! We need to get to class; otherwise, we'll be late," Chen Haoxuan replied.
Chen Haoxuan was a sophomore in Class 8 of the Business Administration department. Not knowing the way, he was fortunate that Chen Yina was in the same class, so he followed her to Class 8. Just before entering the classroom, he heard someone say, "Even if I liked Chen Haoxuan, I wouldn't like someone like you."
Hearing this, Chen Haoxuan grabbed Chen Yina, who was about to enter the classroom. He wanted to see who liked him enough to say it so loudly; there must be something going on. So, through the crack of the door, he observed the scene inside and saw a beautiful girl arguing with a handsome boy.
The two arguing were Zhou Kexin and He Haoming. The reason for their argument was that He Haoming kept pestering Zhou Kexin, and in a fit of anger, she said something that shocked the entire class.
"What does that poor loser have going for him? Besides having a pretty face, he's just useless," He Haoming shouted angrily. If Zhou Kexin had insulted someone else, it would have been fine, but she had called Chen Haoxuan useless; it felt like a direct attack on him, implying that even a loser was better than him.
"I like him; so what? He's poor, but he's honest. Unlike some people who flirt around all day while pretending to be virtuous," Zhou Kexin said disdainfully as she looked at He Haoming.
"Really? You like Chen Haoxuan? Then prove it," He Haoming sneered. He believed Zhou Kexin was just using this as an excuse to reject him.
"Chen Haoxuan! Chen Haoxuan! Come out!" Zhou Kexin said firmly. She would rather others misunderstand her feelings for Chen Haoxuan than continue being pestered by He Haoming.
All the students in Class 8 were searching for Chen Haoxuan when a girl sitting at the front suddenly pointed at the door and exclaimed, "Look! Chen Haoxuan is over there!"
Chen Haoxuan, who had been discovered, entered the room as if he knew nothing, smiling and greeting the students in the class, "Hehehe... Good morning, everyone! I didn't hear anything just now, so you all continue chatting!"
"Chen Haoxuan, come here," Zhou Kexin said with a hint of annoyance.
"If you want me to come over, I will! Otherwise, it would be quite embarrassing for me," Chen Haoxuan rolled his eyes at Zhou Kexin. He already knew who she was because Chen Yina had informed him earlier outside the door. Chen Haoxuan was angry that Zhou Kexin was using him as a shield. He didn't care much now, but if it were the old Chen Haoxuan, he would have been in serious trouble.
"You—You..." Zhou Kexin was so infuriated by Chen Haoxuan that she couldn't find the words. Her ample figure seemed ready to burst out of her clothing, all because of Chen Haoxuan's provocation. Zhou Kexin was the campus beauty of New City University, with thousands of admirers; yet here she was pursuing Chen Haoxuan, who was treating her so dismissively. Although it was a pretense, being rejected by him still made her very angry.
"Hahaha... Zhou Kexin, I told you! This guy knows nothing; he's simply trash among waste. You should choose me instead! I will make you happy," He Haoming laughed as he spoke to Zhou Kexin.
Upon hearing He Haoming's words, Chen Haoxuan stopped following Chen Yina to the back and turned to walk toward He Haoming.
"What? Are you planning to beat me up or warn me?" He Haoming mocked as he saw Chen Haoxuan approaching.
Chen Haoxuan stood in front of He Haoming, staring coldly into his eyes and said, "Just because I'm not speaking doesn't mean I don't exist. I don't care about your matters, yet you want to drag me into this. Are you trying to make me your enemy?"
When He Haoming met Chen Haoxuan's gaze, the smile on his face vanished instantly. He could see a strong killing intent in Chen Haoxuan's eyes and felt an involuntary tension rising within him.
