To discuss how Chen Yina found such a high-paying tutoring job, it was largely thanks to Chen Haoxuan's good looks. Li Yuzhen decided to hire them as tutors for her children after seeing Chen Haoxuan's handsome appearance on the tutoring website. Sometimes, being attractive can be quite advantageous.
"Wow... you look much better in person than in your photos. Come on in! My two kids are at home waiting for you!" Li Yuzhen smiled at Chen Haoxuan and gestured for him to enter the house.
Once inside, Li Yuzhen called her children out to introduce them to Chen Haoxuan and Chen Yina. Originally, Chen Yina was supposed to teach Li Yuzhen's daughter, Meilin Huang, how to play the piano, but unexpectedly, Meilin insisted that Chen Haoxuan teach her instead.
"Mei Lin, he doesn't know how to play the piano; let me teach you," Chen Yina advised Meilin Huang.
"Don't fool me! You’re both college students; there's no way a college student wouldn't know how to play the piano. I don’t care; I want him to teach me, or I won’t hire you," Meilin Huang pouted. She was dressed fashionably in a white shirt and a short denim skirt. Despite being only 14 years old, she exuded charm with her large eyes and doll-like face, making her very attractive to men.
"Mei Lin, if you keep being disobedient, your allowance will be canceled next week," Li Yuzhen said sternly to her daughter. She knew her daughter's little schemes; it was clear she had a crush on Chen Haoxuan.
"That's fine; I'll teach her!" Chen Haoxuan said with a smile.
Upon hearing his words, Chen Yina tugged at his sleeve and whispered, "Aren't you not able to play?"
"I wasn't very sure before, but I can confidently say that I can play the piano very well now," Chen Haoxuan quietly replied to Chen Yina.
"Alright then! You teach Meilin Huang, and I'll teach Huang Zhifeng," Chen Yina reluctantly agreed.
Chen Haoxuan walked over to Meilin Huang and smiled, "Beautiful little princess, please take me to where you practice playing the piano!"
"Great!" Meilin Huang cheered excitedly and led Chen Haoxuan to her room.
Upon entering Meilin Huang's room, Chen Haoxuan felt as if he had stepped into a pink world; the walls, bed, wardrobe, desk, and even the floor were all pink. Meilin's room was quite spacious, with a pink piano placed by the balcony. Chen Haoxuan sat down at the piano and looked up at Meilin Huang, who was staring at him curiously. "What do you want to learn?"
Instead of answering his question, Meilin rested her chin on her hands and smiled sweetly at him. "Do you have a girlfriend?"
"No," Chen Haoxuan replied.
Hearing Chen Haoxuan say he didn't have a girlfriend, Meilin Huang's eyes immediately lit up with joy. She asked again, "So, what do you think of me?"
"..." Chen Haoxuan was speechless. Was she asking him to tutor her or to date her?
"You are very cute, lively, and a wonderful sunshine girl. That's my evaluation. Now can you tell me—what do you want to learn?" Chen Haoxuan said.
"I can play the piano, but I want to learn how to produce the best sound," Meilin Huang said sweetly.
Chen Haoxuan tried the piano and found that everything was in order. He then told Meilin Huang, "Listen carefully to the song I'm going to play, and then tell me how it feels." With that, he placed his hands on the piano.
The beautiful sound of the piano began to resonate, with high notes like pearls dropping onto a jade plate and low notes rumbling like winter thunder. Suddenly, Chen Haoxuan pressed several keys at once, producing a sound reminiscent of ancient battle drums. Following that, his fingers danced across the piano keys, moving faster and faster. The sound transformed into a powerful wave, rising higher and higher like an unstoppable tide, igniting passion in those who listened.
At the end of the performance, Chen Haoxuan swept his right hand from beginning to end with a flourish, looking very cool.
"What do you think after listening to this song?" Chen Haoxuan asked Meilin Huang with a smile.
Meilin Huang looked at Chen Haoxuan with admiration and said, "It sounds amazing; I feel so excited and happy."
Just then, applause suddenly came from outside the door. Chen Haoxuan turned to see a middle-aged man wearing glasses and a suit walking in while clapping his hands. "Wonderful! That was fantastic! Even a piano master couldn't play such a beautiful song," Huang Weicheng said happily.
Behind Huang Weicheng were Li Yuzhen, Chen Yina, and Huang Zhifeng; they had all been drawn in by Chen Haoxuan's music.
"By the way, why haven't I heard this song before?" Li Yuzhen asked curiously.
"Hehe... sorry, this is an original song I wrote myself, so it's not surprising that you haven't heard it," Chen Haoxuan replied with a smile. He had written this song while studying at military school in Future Century.
Huang Weicheng was overjoyed. He never expected that the tutor he hired would be someone even more impressive than a piano master to teach his daughter, and the price was only fifty dollars an hour. Such good fortune had come to him; it seemed that heaven was favoring him.
Chen Yina was surprised by how well Chen Haoxuan played the piano. She suspected that Chen Haoxuan had been pretending to be less capable than he actually was. Otherwise, how could he suddenly become so gentlemanly and skilled at playing the piano after losing his memory?
To ensure that Chen Haoxuan would teach his daughter seriously, Huang Weicheng offered to pay him a salary of five hundred dollars an hour, while Chen Yina benefited from Chen Haoxuan's presence, receiving one hundred dollars an hour from Huang Weicheng.
At ten o'clock in the evening, Chen Haoxuan and Chen Yina emerged from the luxurious apartment, both wearing expressions of joy because they had earned quite a bit of money that day—Chen Haoxuan made one thousand five hundred dollars, while Chen Yina earned three hundred dollars. "What? Have you forgotten what I told you today? We go to Delicious Restaurant every night around eleven o'clock to help Boss wash dishes. Boss pays us five hundred dollars a month," Chen Yina explained.
Chen Haoxuan finally understood why his hands were so smooth and delicate; it was because he had been washing dishes all day long. "Nana, listen to me. Even though I've lost my memory now, I'm confident that I can provide you with a happy life, so let's not go wash dishes anymore."
