In the deepest part of the ninth layer of the Underworld Palace lies a vast Corpse Mountain surrounded by a Sea of Blood, shrouded in a chilling aura.
Countless bones and corpses are piled together, layered upon one another, forming a flat-topped mountain covering an area of hundreds of acres. At the center of the Corpse Mountain is a deep depression filled with thick red liquid. The blood glimmers ominously, exuding an unbearable stench, creating a blood lake approximately ten acres in size, filled with human blood.
Numerous Vengeful Spirits float in and out of the Blood Pool, desperately trying to escape this filthy and foul-smelling lake. However, whenever they reach the surface, a massive azure Ghost Hand rises from the Blood Pool, stirring violently. Countless Vengeful Spirits scream in despair as they transform into wisps of fine azure smoke, merging into the Ghost Hand.
The enormous Azure Ghost Hand becomes increasingly solidified, and gradually, an arm begins to form, stretching longer and longer as the depths of the blood lake churn restlessly. Upon closer inspection, the blood lake is slowly sinking.
Eighty-one shadowy figures stand atop the Corpse Mountain, encircling the repulsive blood lake. Seals are rapidly cast from their hands into the lake.
As the seals descend, the wails of Vengeful Spirits grow louder, filling the entire Underground space with horrific cries reminiscent of true hell.
The blood lake diminishes bit by bit, while the Azure Ghost Hand grows more solid and larger. One shoulder emerges first, followed by its chest, abdomen, and legs…
When half of the blood lake has drained away, half of the massive body of the Nine Nether Green Demon appears, resembling a small mountain covered in hard green scales. It has two large curved horns on its head and is adorned with long sharp spikes all over its body. Its appearance is incredibly ferocious. It begins to gain consciousness and struggles fiercely to free itself from the blood lake. A low growl emanates from its throat.
The faces of the Demons surrounding the blood lake grow increasingly serious under the eerie glow of blood light; some Demons even begin to show signs of joy.
These Demons possess Nascent Soul Stage cultivation, with nine leaders at the Late Stage of Quasi-Nascent Soul. However, summoning this Nine Nether Green Demon through the Blood Spring Netherworld Formation consumes an immense amount of energy; even they begin to feel fatigued. Beads of cold sweat emerge on their pale faces resembling ghosts, and some weaker Demons start to sway unsteadily.
Suddenly, a thunderous sound reverberates from above as if mountains were collapsing. Following that is another loud noise; the entire Corpse Mountain and blood lake shake violently. The Demons seem oblivious to it, but the azure giant in the blood lake senses it and struggles to emerge. The thick blood and Vengeful Spirits rush into its body as it forcefully pulls out its chest and abdomen along with another Ghost Hand.
The Demons rejoice wildly despite their severely depleted Yin Power, frantically casting seals into the azure demon's blood lake. Each seal acts like nourishment for the massive azure demon as Vengeful Spirits rapidly seep into its body; only one leg remains! The gigantic azure demon is about to take shape!
It seems that the gigantic azure demon also senses its impending freedom; a hint of joy appears on its ferocious face as it struggles to open its eyelids covered in thick green scales—it wants to open its eyes!
Moments later, only its knees remain submerged; only a small section of its lower leg and foot are left!
At this moment, however, all the Demons shout in unison: "Not good!"
The blood lake has completely run dry. As the last drop of human blood and final wisp of Vengeful Spirit rush into the giant azure demon's lower leg, its summoned physical form solidifies at that point; its leg remains trapped in the Netherworld. It lies diagonally at the bottom of the dried-up blood lake, roaring in frustration as it grows increasingly dissatisfied. Its enormous eyes roll wildly beneath its eyelids which slowly part to reveal a slit. Two beams of fierce azure light shoot forth as it finally sees those tiny humans above!
A roar echoed as two massive Azure Ghost Hands, now free, surged and struck, lifting half of the enormous Corpse Mountain that had been fused together.
The Blood Spring Netherworld Formation was instantly shattered, but at this moment, it was beyond the control of these Demons!
The dry corpses shattered into pieces, and the ten weakest Demons, already at their limit, were unexpectedly struck by the surging Ghost Hands of the Nine Nether Green Demon. They screamed as they fell, immediately being pulled to the feet of the Nine Nether Green Demon.
In an instant, their flesh rapidly shriveled away, all their essence rushing into the calf of the Nine Nether Green Demon. Even the black Demon Baby could not escape; it was as if there was a tremendous suction at the calf of the Green Demon, drawing everything in until they vanished. In a blink, only a dozen skeletal dry corpses remained.
The Nine Nether Green Demon let out a rough roar and astonishingly pulled out a section of its own calf!
It craved blood food, human flesh, and human blood!
The nine highest-ranking Demons suddenly clapped their hands in unison, striking down their lower-ranked companions one after another. Another one quickly dashed outward and returned in an instant, holding a black thread that dangled like a string of crabs with over ten women.
These women were alive; though they could not speak, under the eerie red light, a layer of Crimson Glow seemed to rise on their pale faces. Their eyes reflected either fear, sorrow, or a lifeless expression. Regardless of their expressions, each one was a stunning beauty.
The Late Stage of Nascent Soul Demon seemed somewhat reluctant but steeled itself and picked two women it deemed less attractive, slashing across their snow-white necks. Instantly, two beautiful heads rolled beside the Green Demon, their wide-open eyes refusing to close.
The Demon held up the headless corpses and continuously urged them with secret techniques. The warm blood from the headless beauties surged toward the Nine Nether Green Demon. Once drained of blood, they were discarded as mere skeletal remains. The Demon repeated this process with two more women.
As the women witnessed the tragic fate of their companions, tears welled up in their eyes and streamed down their faces, filled with pleading expressions that could soften even the hardest heart. However, among them stood one woman with a face like iron; her dark eyes showed no tears as she stared fiercely at the Demon who killed without hesitation. The intense hatred in her gaze even made the Demon shudder.
Casually tossing down the two corpses, he reached out toward this woman from afar; she was pulled toward him against her will.
Holding her in his grasp, the Demon coldly said: "Hui Feng, although you are the most beloved of the Great Hall Master, I cannot spare you! Better dead than to have the Great Hall Master obsessing over you and hindering his cultivation."
Just as he was about to slash her neck, he suddenly paused and threw Hui Feng away. He leaped high into the air and dove straight into the already dried-up blood lake.
Hui Feng thought she was doomed and awaited her decapitation when suddenly she felt herself soaring through the air as if riding clouds. She crashed against a stone wall with a loud bang; her viscera trembled with cracks forming all over. She vomited large amounts of Purple Blood.
As Purple Blood spilled forth, Hui Feng noticed signs that the restraints around her Golden Core were loosening. Not knowing where she found this strength from, she silently circulated her heart method and desperately gathered all available spiritual power to strike fiercely at the now-loosened restraints again and again...
With every strike feeling like a blow to her own insides, Hui Feng remained unfazed, relentlessly channeling her remaining spiritual energy to launch fierce attacks. At the same time, she strained to keep her eyes wide open, trying to understand what was happening that allowed the Demon not to kill her.
The wind howled through the Cave Full of Crystals, stinging her face and causing tears to flow from her eyes without her realizing it. However, Hui Feng's willpower was exceptionally strong; she kept her eyes fixed ahead despite the pain.
The sound of the wind filled her ears, and sharp pain shot through her temples as two streams of hot blood flowed down her pale face.
She saw a massive green shadow standing amidst the Corpse Mountain, towering and roaring with fury. Two enormous Azure Ghost Hands had manifested, resembling a circle of green grinding stones, chasing after a strikingly visible red figure.
That red figure appeared small compared to the green shadows but seemed monumental in Hui Feng's eyes.
Faced with the monstrous presence before him, he showed no signs of retreat. Wielding a golden Divine Weapon, he swung it with the speed of a gale, moving in the opposite direction of the giant green claws, resembling both a grinding stone and an underground sunrise. The tangible force of the green ghost claws gradually dissipated under his strikes.
The red figure shouted loudly, "So you're the Nine Nether Green Demon? When you encounter me, you'll become a little ghost from the Nine Nether! Hahaha!"
With three boisterous laughs, the golden axe suddenly enlarged, radiating dazzling light as it broke through the solid force created by the two enormous Ghost Hands and struck down on the Nine Nether Green Demon's thick neck.
"Ah?!" A wretched howl escaped as half of the Nine Nether Green Demon's neck was severed, its massive head slowly tipping towards one shoulder.
Although summoned from another realm, the Nine Nether Green Demon had now solidified into a corporeal form. In agony, it trembled all over while attempting to channel its ghostly power to mend the gaping wound on its neck. The two agile yet disproportionately thick Ghost Hands abruptly ceased their pursuit of Chuxiong and instead moved to grasp his waist.
"Be careful!" Hui Feng exclaimed in alarm. It was then that she realized she had completely broken free from her confinement.
Hui Feng immediately sprang into action, soaring into the air and seizing two large human thigh bones, launching them like arrows towards the Nine Nether Green Demon's eerie eyes. She halted mid-air, anxiously watching Chuxiong.
Just in time, he effortlessly slipped out from between the Nine Nether Green Demon's giant hands and even had a moment to look back.
From a distance of a hundred feet, their gazes met.
"Chuxiong! It's you!" Hui Feng recognized him and cried out in surprise.
Chuxiong also recognized Hui Feng instantly, noticing the two lines of shocking blood tears on her snow-white face, along with her tattered clothing and numerous gruesome bruises.
Anger surged from Chuxiong's heart as he nodded slightly to Hui Feng in greeting, then turned around, his expression becoming extremely solemn.
He leaped into the air, flying directly above the Nine Nether Green Demon.
The Nine Nether Green Demon was a legendary creature from the underworld, summoned by the Demon Sect using secret methods. However, due to a critical flaw in the summoning process, only one of its feet had not fully materialized. When the demon noticed Chuxiong charging in, it abandoned Hui Feng and dove down to sever the last connection between the Nine Nether Green Demon and the underworld.
Although the Nine Nether Green Demon managed to stand up, it was missing a foot and was thus incomplete. Even so, its power remained terrifying.
At this point, Chuxiong decided to hold nothing back and fully confront this demon.
He shouted, "Everyone get out!"
As soon as his voice fell, Hui Feng felt someone rush to her side and pull her away.
The person took Hui Feng and charged up the passage. Hui Feng strained to look back and saw a towering red figure with flowing sleeves, standing firmly on the massive head of the Nine Nether Green Demon. Golden light began to burst forth from his body. In an instant, he resembled a deity forged of gold, shining brightly in the dark underground.
This scene would forever be etched in Hui Feng's heart.
