"The Divine Tablet Spirit said, 'You are mistaken in your thinking. The vastness of the Divine Realm contains many secret places and forbidden zones. Not to mention the Azure Void, which is filled with countless dangers—star sand, star explosions, star dust, star absorption... all extremely perilous. With us, you will be incredibly fast, reducing danger significantly, and at least you will be a thousand times more comfortable. If you rely solely on your slow physical body to fly, not only will it be dangerous, but when will it ever end? You would spend your entire life struggling in just a small corner of the Divine Realm. With this, you can go wherever you want; the Azure Void stretches for miles in an instant—how carefree is that?'
Li Hong listened, feeling dizzy and murmured to Ask the Way, 'What do star sand, star explosions, star dust, and star absorption mean? Where is the Divine Realm? Is that place really so large?'
'That's why I look down on you. Just look at your limited knowledge; it's truly like talking about ice to a summer insect!' The Artifact Spirit immediately expressed disdain.
Li Hong smiled wryly again. After thinking for a moment, he stood up and bowed deeply, saying, 'Artifact Spirit Brother, my knowledge is shallow; I am just seeking your guidance!'
'I can't explain it clearly to you. If one day you really manage to go to the Divine Realm, then come back and ask me!' The Artifact Spirit said before falling silent.
Li Hong couldn't help but feel frustrated. 'What's so great about that! Hmph! There’s a Teleportation Array in Temple City that leads to the Divine Realm. That old ghost who claimed to be the number one master of mechanisms in the Divine Realm has already pointed out the way! I'm just too busy! One day when I have time, I will really go explore and let you see how proud this Artifact Spirit is without a master!'
Despite saying this, Li Hong had no such plans.
Although he did not know where the Divine Realm was, that Teleportation Array was clearly located in the Underground Palace of Temple City. Judging by the consumption of Supreme Celestial Stones, Li Hong knew that the destination was extraordinary and likely very far away; once he went there, he might never return. He still needed to ascend to the Immortal Realm to find Chu Xi—therefore, it seemed he would have no chance in this lifetime.
With this thought in mind, Li Hong cast aside the idea of the Divine Realm and felt an inexplicable sense of aversion whenever he heard those two words.
Having figured out how to use the Yin Yang Platform and Heartless Shuttle, Li Hong looked around the basement and decided to practice using the Heartless Shuttle here.
With a thought, the Heartless Shuttle suddenly appeared and expanded. Its entire body was pitch black with a glossy purple sheen; at that moment, Li Hong noticed it also emitted sounds of wind and thunder with blue-purple electric arcs flickering around it.
It seemed that this Heartless Shuttle was originally an axle for a 'carriage,' certainly enhanced with some kind of formation to increase speed. Unfortunately, the formations inside were far too profound; even with Li Hong's current cultivation level, staring at them for too long made his head spin. So he chose not to dwell on it. With another thought, he threw the Heartless Shuttle high into the air and struck it down heavily onto the ground with just ten percent of his strength.
However, following that came a tremendous roar as Li Hong was unexpectedly shaken dizzy by his own strike. His body felt like beans frying in an iron pot—constantly flipping up and down—as all the intense energy sealed within the space caused Li Hong himself to suffer!
The entire Underground space shook more violently; he could hear cracking sounds echoing around him as countless black fissures bizarrely appeared in that emptiness!"
Li Hong shouted, "Oh no! The Spatial Formation has collapsed!" His figure flashed as he rushed up the stairs.
As soon as he reached the hall, he saw Heavenly Torch Black Abyss and Chuxiong leap up and dash out like their tails were on fire.
Just as the two of them rushed out, a loud rumbling sound echoed, and stones flew everywhere, turning the most luxurious Inn right before their eyes into a pile of ashes.
Watching the figures rushing over from afar, Li Hong scratched his head and said loudly, "Everyone, don't panic! I was just practicing my staff techniques in the basement. Who would have thought..." He couldn't continue; after all, he had unintentionally destroyed someone else's property, causing his face to flush slightly.
The leader among them had already rushed to his side; it was Elder Kunlun Xuan Chengzi.
Xuan Chengzi no longer held any grudges against Li Hong. Seeing that their Inn had become a ruin, he could only smile bitterly and clasp his hands in greeting, saying, "Elder Brother Zhangmen is impressive! Our Inn's basement is merely a place for quiet cultivation. If you wish to train techniques, please follow me. We Kunlun have a dedicated area for disciples to spar. It’s sturdy enough to withstand your practice."
Previously, Li Hong had called him Shibo because Li Hongxiu had been promoted to the position of sect leader. Now that Xuan Chengzi had to address Li Hong as Elder Brother Zhangmen, he kept referring to him as such.
Li Hong was overjoyed upon hearing this. "Is there really such a place? That's wonderful!" He turned to Chuxiong and said, "Second brother, come with me! It's perfect for warming up and trying out our skills!"
Chuxiong was thrilled at the prospect of having a place to spar with Li Hong and hurried over while repeatedly expressing his excitement.
Xuan Chengzi clasped his hands and smiled wryly. "If it's just for training techniques, that's fine. However, if you two are going to spar in front of me, I think it’s better if I don’t watch. Otherwise, if the Martial Arts Hall gets destroyed again, I won’t know how to face our Ancestor."
Chuxiong felt as if cold water had been poured over his head; he immediately lost interest and waved his hand, saying, "I think I'll just find another place to meditate."
Li Hong also felt disheartened but decided that as long as they could train techniques, it was still worth following Xuan Chengzi to the Martial Arts Hall.
The Kunlun Martial Arts Hall was located on the summit of a mountain. From the outside, it appeared to be a simple wooden cabin made from large logs that several people would need to embrace together. The roof was covered with ordinary thatch. As Li Hong approached, he realized that each log forming the walls was made from thousand-year-old Golden Silk Nanmu and had been refined with secret techniques, making them nearly artifact-level in strength. Countless metallic talismans were embedded within them, making the Golden Silk Nanmu incredibly solid—more so than even Mysterious Iron walls.
Upon entering, it was indeed discovered that there was a spatial overlay formation inside, making the exterior appearance of the large wooden house, which seemed to be only nine spacious rooms, actually encompass nearly a thousand acres.
Xuan Chengzi noticed the evident surprise in Li Hong's eyes, and his mouth curved upward as he proudly said, "Elder Brother Zhangmen, what do you think of this place?"
"Yes, yes, of course!" Li Hong recognized the value and could tell that this place had been meticulously arranged. The thick walls combined with the spatial overlay formation were incredibly solid; he thought trying out one-tenth of his strength should pose no problem.
Xuan Chengzi stepped back.
Li Hong walked alone to the center of the Martial Arts Hall. After some contemplation, he decided not to summon the Heartless Shuttle but instead called forth the Vermilion Bird Nine Li Blade.
He had only practiced the nine techniques of the Vermilion Bird Jiu Li in his Divine Consciousness until now. With such a safe environment available, it was certainly time to practice them.
Standing in the center of the space, Li Hong first closed his eyes for a moment. The first move, "Chasing Wind," along with its key points, was clear in his mind. With a thought, a flicker of golden-white flame rose from his left palm. In the next instant, a fiery blade shadow shot up into the air and darted forward.
A hundred feet away, that fiery blade shadow composed of pure energy appeared no larger than a grain of rice and silently vanished into the Restrictions, seemingly without any power. However, shortly after, a thunderous roar erupted; the space shook violently as the Restrictions flashed with brilliant golden light. A narrow opening measuring ten feet long appeared on the transparent Restrictions wall, resembling fireworks or thunderous explosions. Energy surged chaotically around; upon closer inspection, the flames contained multicolored flashes akin to true lightning from the heavens. The entire Martial Arts Hall shook violently as debris fell outside with a clatter.
Li Hong stood in place, his heart racing with surprise, joy, and annoyance.
He was astonished by the immense power of this technique, delighted that it was undoubtedly an excellent method for pursuing enemies, yet frustrated that his control over his strength was not precise enough to create such a large opening at a hundred feet away—wasn't that a waste of Awareness?
He also felt some concern about whether the Martial Arts Hall's Spatial Formation was sturdy enough.
Fortunately, after a series of crackling flashes from the Restrictions that lasted for half a tea time, it finally calmed down.
The walls of Kunlun Martial Arts Hall were indeed formidable; they had withstood such a powerful move.
Li Hong thought for a moment and reduced the input of Awareness, this time using only half of his cultivation to execute "Chasing Wind" again. This time, the control was indeed much more refined; the narrow knife marks on the Restrictions wall in the distance had shrunk significantly, but the explosive power was even stronger. The Restrictions wall flickered for a good while before calming down.
Li Hong began to understand that the key to the "Chasing Wind" technique lay in controlling the power. The better the control, the farther he could pursue his enemies, resulting in a smaller area of damage while unleashing more violent energy.
After realizing this, Li Hong practiced once more.
This time it was indeed better.
Next came "Soul Severing."
With a sweep of his left hand, a massive flame blade rose up and struck down fiercely in front of him. It was as if one blow could split the entire earth, fierce and unmatched. A thunderous roar echoed as the Martial Arts Hall shook violently once again.
Fortunately, there were also reinforcement talismans on the ground. The talismans flashed with golden light, appearing layer upon layer, barely resisting this incredibly powerful horizontal strike.
Li Hong nodded in satisfaction.
Then came "Slay Dragon." This time, the blade shadow was even longer, releasing a fire blade that stretched a full hundred feet wide as it struck down from above.
A rumbling sound erupted; after the blade shadow passed, violent energy surged everywhere. The Spatial Formation cried out in distress, and the Restrictions sparkled with golden light incessantly, already on the brink of collapse.
Outside, he heard Xuan Chengzi's pleading voice: "Elder Brother Zhangmen, please stop! The Martial Arts Hall is going to collapse! Can't you have some pity for me? You surely don't want me to be severely punished by the Sect Master, do you? Please, Elder Brother Zhangmen, stop quickly!"
Only then did Li Hong contentedly retract the Vermilion Bird Nine Li Blade. After thinking for a moment, he summoned the Heartless Shuttle and used the intent of "Chasing Wind." A beam of Black Light shot out just as it was about to touch the Restrictions. At that moment, Li Hong focused his mind and shouted, "Stop!"
The Heartless Shuttle barely halted an inch above the Restrictions and spun rapidly. Suddenly, Li Hong felt a tightness in his chest and nearly felt nauseous; he realized that he had been caught in this immense stopping force which caused his internal energy to stagnate! Startled, Li Hong understood that he could not act so recklessly in the future. He quickly began to circulate his mental techniques when suddenly a figure identical to him burst forth from his body—then another one appeared, and another… until nine figures emerged in total.
Nine figures continuously transformed through the five elements of gold, wood, water, fire, and earth, moving around Li Hong in a mysterious and intricate manner centered on his physical body.
After ten breaths, Li Hong immediately felt the heaviness in his chest dissipate.
With a thought, the nine figures returned one by one to his main body.
Li Hong let out a long breath, smiling as he put away Heartless Shuttle and formed a seal to open the door.
Outside, Xuan Chengzi was anxiously pulling at his hair. Seeing Li Hong finally emerge, he sighed in relief and complained, "If you hadn't come out soon, I would have rushed in myself! Even if it meant being killed by you, I would have had no choice!"
Li Hong chuckled and patted Xuan Chengzi on the shoulder, saying, "No need to worry. Here, take this Thousand-Year He Shou Wu as an apology!" He casually tossed a Jade Box over, which vanished into light.
Xuan Chengzi opened it with skepticism and was instantly stunned. The herb had taken human form, complete with hair and beard; it truly was a Thousand-Year He Shou Wu! Li Hong had casually given him such a precious item!
In recent years, since the mysterious connection between the Heavenly Grain Immortal Field and Middle-Earth had been severed, the supply of spiritual herbs from various sects had faced issues. The scarcity of Elixirs was dire, and herbs over a thousand years old were extremely hard to come by! With war looming, such a Millennium Spiritual Herb was equivalent to a life-saving elixir; it could be considered a grand gift for Xuan Xuzi. Yet here it was tossed to him so casually. Xuan Chengzi, both surprised and delighted, quickly stored it away. If he had any lingering doubts about Li Hong, they were now completely dispelled.
Seeing Chu Hongzi appear indifferent, could it be that he still had more?
With a flash of inspiration, Xuan Chengzi shouted, "Wait for me, Elder Brother Zhangmen!” He hurriedly chased after him.
