Nine-Flower Glass Grass grows in a deep pit Underground. Li Hong left Temple City and headed straight for the pit, plunging down a hundred feet along the splashing waterfall until he reached the bottom.
The terrain here resembled a naturally formed well. At the bottom of the "well," many lush ancient ferns grew, some as large as towering trees, which were rarely seen on the surface. At a relatively dry height near the riverbank sat a strange figure with a faint red hue in a cross-legged meditation posture. It was a man whose long hair obscured his face as he practiced his techniques. Spiritual energy flowed within him, emitting a faint red glow through his white clothing that appeared bizarre in the pitch-black Underground.
After just one glance, Li Hong was taken aback. The Li Fire Scripture! This person was actually cultivating the Li Fire Scripture! Upon closer inspection of his figure and features, Li Hong suddenly felt ecstatic and quickly exited from the Eight Formation Flag, shouting: “Ling Yi Zi! What are you doing here!”
With a flash of movement, Li Hong stood directly in front of Ling Yi Zi.
Ling Yi Zi opened his eyes; a sudden dark red light flashed from their depths as he stared at Li Hong. At first, he seemed unable to believe his eyes but then jumped up in joy: “It’s you, Li Hong! I finally see you!”
“Yes! Finally seeing you! This is wonderful! I’ve heard everything about you; I heard you left Nine Li Sect for me and went missing. All these years, everyone has been worried about you; I never expected we would reunite here!” Li Hong laughed heartily, placing his hand on his forehead in excitement and grabbing hold of Ling Yi Zi’s hand before turning to fly out: “No need for more words; come with me to Temple City, and you’ll see for yourself!”
“Temple City!?” A curious expression appeared on Ling Yi Zi’s face.
“This is a long story; let’s walk and talk.”
Thinking about reuniting with an old comrade and fighting partner brought such joy to Li Hong that he could hardly speak coherently. He animatedly recounted how he escaped from Nine Li Sect and subsequently entered Temple City.
