Below, there happened to be a shimmering Great Lake. Li Hong plummeted down to the lake surface like a heavy weight, sinking straight to the bottom, with large amounts of blood gushing from the severed ends of his arms and legs, rising up towards the surface. In the distance, some fierce bottom-dwelling fish were immediately attracted by the scent of blood and quickly swam over with murderous intent.
Li Hong was completely unaware of the impending danger, quietly floating at the bottom of the water, his long black hair drifting around him like a tangle of messy aquatic plants.
In the sky, Yandao Demon Lord had firmly locked onto Li Hong with his Divine Consciousness. "You all go down and bring him up," he commanded.
More than ten Azure Guardians immediately sprang into action.
At this point, capturing Li Hong was a foregone conclusion. Yandao retracted his Divine Consciousness, pondering in his heart. That kid harbored many secrets; it seemed he was tough to crack. Extracting information from him would require considerable effort. Should he simply strike him down to eliminate future troubles? But that would be quite a pity...
Just as he was contemplating this, he suddenly heard commotion below. An Azure Guardian swiftly flew up to him, bowing in fear and saying, "Reporting to the Sect Master, that kid... he..." The guardian's face was filled with disbelief. "He has actually disappeared!"
"What!" Yandao exclaimed in shock. He extended his Divine Consciousness again and immediately confirmed that what was said was true.
That Li Hong, heavily injured and on the brink of death, had vanished right under his nose!
Yandao was furious: "Search! Drain the water and turn the lake bed upside down; we must find him!"
The Azure Guardians responded immediately, one after another diving into the Great Lake. The dark water surface grew even darker as countless strange black mists rose from it, bubbling as if the lake were boiling. The vast Great Lake was indeed slowly losing its water.
In just a short while, the Great Lake within a ten-mile radius had truly run dry. Countless fish and shrimp lay belly-up among the tangled aquatic plants, dead and stiff. Many Azure Guardians pried up the silt, searching every inch of the lake bed. But there was nothing—Li Hong had vanished without a trace right before so many skilled eyes.
Yandao's heart sank further; he had also used his Divine Consciousness to search earlier, but Li Hong's figure and aura had completely disappeared without a clue as to how it happened!
"Quick! Turn around and chase after that big guy and that dragon! It seems this Li Hong can actually use some sort of illusion!" Yandao shouted angrily, waving his hand as he led everyone swiftly southward. Their figures soon vanished into the dark night sky.
Halfway through, Yandao thought for a moment and called over a few guardians to give them some instructions.
Before long, three or five dark figures quietly appeared in the desolate sky above the dry Great Lake, closely monitoring the area within several dozen miles.
Li Hong was completely unaware and had truly fainted.
His left arm and leg were broken at the roots, and more than half of his bones were fractured. This was external injury; the internal injuries were even more severe. The excessive consumption of spiritual power had left the Ten Infants all listless, nearly turning into faint golden translucent forms. The strange energy that invaded his body also contained a potent toxin that directly affected his Nascent Soul. Although the Ten Infants were continuously trying to expel the poison using their heart techniques, they all bore a faint black aura on their faces, reflecting the same expression of pain as Li Hong himself.
The injuries were too severe; if he were conscious, it would be too painful. Thus, Li Hong's Six Senses automatically shut down, leaving him truly unconscious and unaware of the external situation.
Just as several large fish were swiftly approaching him as a delicious midnight snack, suddenly a thick, strange Black Light emerged from Li Hong's Upper Dantian. This Black Light flowed like threads, increasing in volume and intertwining together, wrapping Li Hong from head to toe like a cocoon. Soon, Li Hong was tightly enveloped, even stopping the blood from his wounds.
Li Hong transformed into a large black cocoon. The large fish were startled by this sight; with a flick of their tails, they turned and fled.
However, the cocoon began to move, swiftly sinking toward the bottom of the lake. It quickly reached the thick black silt at the lake's bottom. The silt seemed to be rapidly pushed away by immense force from both sides of the cocoon. Moments later, the cocoon enveloping Li Hong had sunk deep into the silt layer and continued to descend as if passing through water and air rather than mud and rock.
Li Hong was completely oblivious to this. The moment he sank down was precisely when Azure Guardian dove into the water to search for him. In that instant, not a single Old Demon, including Yandao himself, noticed his disappearance.
Azure Guardian dug three zhang deep without discovering Li Hong because he was continuously sinking at an extremely rapid pace. In just half an hour, Li Hong passed through thick rock layers to reach the depths of the Underground. The cocoon came to a stop.
The surface was Great Lake, but deep underground there was also a Great Lake, only this one was entirely composed of extremely high-temperature molten lava. Thick Li Fire Aura slowly floated out from the molten lava Great Lake, seeping into the thick rock layers above. All of this Li Fire Aura then began to move slowly within the rock layers towards several limited locations of Heaven and Earth Fire Spirit Eye in Middle-Earth according to certain patterns, directions, and routes.
All Spiritual Energy can be found in the depths of the Underground. This source originates from deep within the earth, the core. For millions of years, the Core of the Earth has been generating and releasing Five Elements Spiritual Energy. Each of the five elements—metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—has its own pathways and intersections deep underground, rarely surfacing, ultimately converging to erupt from a certain point known as the Heaven and Earth Spirit Eye. This is why Middle-Earth has a particularly concentrated amount of Spiritual Energy in the Heaven and Earth Spirit Eye located within the Nine Great Celestial Realms. In fact, Middle-Earth is not lacking in Spiritual Energy; rather, it is that all Spiritual Energy follows its own generation and movement routes deep underground, rarely revealing itself on the surface.
This Blacklight Cocoon seems to know this secret. It automatically envelops Li Hong and descends into the depths of the Underground, first locating the Fire Spirit Energy and stopping along the path of the Li Fire Aura. The Blacklight Cocoon begins to absorb the Li Fire Aura vigorously, turning a fiery red on its surface until it has absorbed enough, after which it quickly moves again through the Underground. Just like before, when it passed through solid rock layers effortlessly, it soon changed direction to absorb many individual types of Five Elements Spiritual Energy: metal, wood, water, fire, and earth.
The Blacklight Cocoon is no longer black; now it has five layers from top to bottom, emanating five colors of light from within. Moments later, these five layers begin to merge on their own. This process is effortless, like mixing water and sand together. Genuine Five Elements Spiritual Energy is born. All of this energy immediately begins to seep into Li Hong's body.
The Nascent Soul in Li Hong Upper Dantian receives nourishment from the Five Elements Spiritual Energy, allowing his mental techniques to operate at an accelerated pace, causing the dark aura on the faces of the Ten Infants to begin dissipating.
When the Colorful Light Cocoon finally returns to being a Blacklight Cocoon, it moves again, encompassing Li Hong as he wanders through various depths of the Underground, once more absorbing and transforming into Five Elements Spiritual Energy to replenish him.
This cycle repeats over and over again. Inside the cocoon, as Li Hong sleeps, his complexion improves gradually; his previously sallow skin becomes radiant. Flesh begins to visibly grow back at an astonishing rate from where his arms and legs were severed; bones also extend rapidly... Before long, his severed arms and legs will regrow.
This is one of the benefits of being in the Nascent Soul Stage, where the body has already transformed into pure energy. All parts of his body are undeniably flesh and blood; however, this flesh and blood consist of Innate Vital Blood and pure energy. As long as there is sufficient energy available, no matter how many arms or legs are lost, they will regrow.
However, all six senses of Li Hong remain closed off; he is completely unaware of external changes or his own situation. The Three Souls and Seven Spirits are each separated within every infant form. While there are many benefits to this state, there is also a downside: when his six senses are closed off, each infant acts as an independent entity that cultivates according to instinct.
Li Hong remains in a prolonged state of ignorance and meditation deep within the Underground.

The vast waves stretch endlessly across the horizon; the water surface is broad and boundless. Here and there floats Dai Luo Island.
After a long day of diligent foraging, a lone Seagull returns to its nest on Dai Luo. As the sun sets in the west, fiery red clouds dance upon the water's surface. A fisherman rows his boat; behind him lies a heavy fishing net. The melancholic tune of a fishing song echoes across the surface of the lake.
The daylight grew dimmer, leaving only a dark red corner at the horizon where the water met the sky. Suddenly, a small black dot appeared in the distance, growing larger until a massive Palace Ship emerged from the misty twilight.
"The Lake Master has arrived!" The Fisherman, with calloused hands, quickly rowed his boat, and in an instant, all figures vanished into the swaying White Reed Marsh. The Lake Surface fell silent, devoid of any human or bird sounds.
The sun, resembling a salted egg yolk, struggled for one last moment before finally sinking beneath the lake's surface. Night had fallen.
The large Palace Ship began to illuminate one bright lamp after another, crystal clear and reflecting shimmering lights on the water's surface. The curtains billowed as pink and green silks glided ghost-like across the water in the cool As Water night breeze. Soft laughter echoed from the high deck of the Palace Ship.
Two men and two women leaned casually against a lush backdrop.
One of the men was not unattractive, but he paled in comparison to the other three, especially another man. He held a green bamboo flute, which danced rapidly between his fingers with dazzling movements. He smiled lightly, appearing refined and clear-eyed, as if the two stunning women before him were merely decorative paintings; however, his slightly thick purple-red lips betrayed his true thoughts.
Watching the flamboyant male Beauty opposite him, Phoenix Perches on the Wutong felt a nervous twitch at the corner of his mouth as inner desires surged.
"Phoenix Perches on the Wutong, it's your turn now. You missed out on last time's excitement; this time you must go see it no matter what. From now on, you'll have to take good care of Qiner," said Xiao Rushi in a purple robe, lazily spreading his long legs and reaching into the embrace of Beauty beside him with a teasing touch while wearing an alluring smile.
Phoenix Perches on the Wutong scoffed inwardly, finally pulling his thoughts away from his nominal sister Li Xiaolou: "Qingqinzi is now your concubine; we are family now. But I’ve heard that Ancient Celestial Field is no longer accessible. Even if I go for a visit, there wouldn’t be much fun."
He spoke nonchalantly with a smile.
Qingqinzi wore a pink satin vest paired with a white butterfly-patterned gauze skirt, looking like a girl of fifteen or sixteen; however, her appearance and figure were far from that age. Having officially become Xiao Rushi's concubine, she had ripened further—plump and round—like a fully ripe pink cherry exuding an enticing allure.
She glanced sideways at Phoenix Perches on the Wutong, one hand firmly pressing against her chest to restrain her lover's restless hand while her eyes sparkled like dripping water: "Listen to what Brother Phoenix Perches on the Wutong says; I assure you that if you go there, it will be enjoyable. You know I have trained over ten stunning female disciples; even if I leave, they will be fine under Immortal Sect’s care. Brother Phoenix Perches on the Wutong, as long as you go there, they will all be yours."
Hearing this, Phoenix Perches on the Wutong seemed to be deeply moved, clicking her tongue twice but still did not immediately agree.
Leaning against the large red soft pillow and gazing at the starry sky, Li Xiaolou's brow flickered with a hint of shadow. She turned her head, extending her snow-white hand to cover her mouth as she gently smiled. This smile was absolutely captivating, leaving even Qingqinzi momentarily stunned.
Li Xiaolou then chuckled lightly, "He is my brother, so what kind of brother is he to you, Qingqinzi? Third Senior Brother, you were once a member of the Immortal Sect; you really are a character!"
Qingqinzi was instantly furious. Just as she was about to roll over and get up, her lover's large hand tightly grasped her soft chest, causing her to involuntarily cry out in pain.
"Just keep sleeping!" Xiao Rushi said coldly without any pretense.
Qingqinzi dared not disobey, gritting her teeth and continuing to lie across Xiao Rushi's legs.
"Sister Xiao Lou," Xiao Rushi looked at Li Xiaolou with an extremely gentle gaze and tone, "You must help me speak to Master about this. I can't find that Chu Hong kid, and Master has been angry every day. I don't even dare to see him; he only isn't angry with you. Sister Xiao Lou, could you please talk to Master and allow me to attack Heavenly Grain? As for the benefits? Whatever Sister Xiao Lou wants, I will give it." After saying this, he turned to Phoenix Perches on the Wutong and sincerely added, "I hope you can lend a hand this time."
Li Xiaolou did not respond directly, but her sparkling eyes were fixed on Qingqinzi lying between Xiao Rushi's legs, making Qingqinzi feel anxious.
After a while, Li Xiaolou smiled charmingly: "What if I want her head?"
"You!" Qingqinzi was both shocked and angry. Just as she was about to curse Li Xiaolou, something heavy lodged in her throat, and she could hear her own throat bones rattling.
She lowered her head and saw Xiao Rushi's large hand.
Her Nascent Soul had been subdued by her lover's move, leaving Qingqinzi unable to move.
Xiao Rushi's handsome face was filled with a smile. "Sister Xiao Lou, if you really want her dead, I can kill her right now."
"No..." Qingqinzi exclaimed in shock, struggling desperately but unable to move.
Looking at her beloved's handsome face and the faint smile at the corner of his mouth, fear rose from the depths of Qingqinzi's heart. She had to believe that as long as Li Xiaolou said a word, this man she loved more than anything would truly kill her for her sake.
She turned to Li Xiaolou, her eyes pleading for mercy.
Disgust flashed briefly in Li Xiaolou's eyes, but she quickly giggled. "Third Senior Brother, it was just a joke. Why are you taking it so seriously? Look, she's about to be choked to death by you. Let her go."
Xiao Rushi finally removed his hand from Qingqinzi's throat. She collapsed onto the embroidered bed, clutching her burning throat as hatred began to ignite from within.
Yet she lifted her head and gave her beloved a radiant and charming smile, tinged with a hint of resentment. It seemed to say that such jokes should not be made again in the future.
Xiao Rushi smiled lightly, but his gaze slid past Qingqinzi's face as if her near-death experience had nothing to do with him, focusing solely on Li Xiaolou.
Li Xiaolou giggled and said, "It's settled then. I'll go back tomorrow and report this to my father."
