Li Hong stared in astonishment at the "big guy" in front of him.
Is this really Chuxiong?
He had grown even taller, now a robust man standing nine feet tall, nearly touching the ceiling. His Fire Rat Robe was torn into shreds, barely covering his essential parts. His body was filled with bulging muscles, his arms almost as thick as Li Hong's waist, and his thick legs stood apart like a mountain of flesh, glistening golden.

Chuxiong grinned widely, revealing two rows of gleaming white teeth.
It was then that Li Hong noticed Chuxiong's hair was gone, leaving his scalp smooth and shiny.
"You?" Li Hong pointed at his forehead.
"I obtained a legacy of a cultivation technique in that room; it's incredible! It's an Ancient God technique called the Threefold Six Crossing Ten Thousand Source Technique, and it suits me perfectly. Before I knew it, I reached the third level and formed my Nascent Soul. When I finished, I realized that for some reason this technique made my hair fall out! But it’s no big deal; as a man, who cares about two strands of hair!"
Chuxiong puffed out his chest, and the newly acquired Heavenly Axe flew out, instantly enlarging. He wielded it effortlessly and performed a flashy display.
The pressure was overwhelming, and all the lights dimmed momentarily.
"Good lad!" Li Hong was both surprised and delighted; he hadn't expected Chuxiong to improve so much.
"What do you think? Shall we go outside for a spar?" Chuxiong asked eagerly.
Li Hong quickly waved his hand, sounding quite pleased with himself: "Now that we are both Primordial Infant Old Monsters, we mustn't act recklessly. I don’t want to destroy this place completely. Besides, Chu Xi hasn’t come out yet!"
Chuxiong didn’t seem to care: "Her not coming out means she probably gained even more benefits. By the time she does come out, who knows? We might both be left behind!" After thinking for a moment, he added: "Big brother, there are many treasures here; why don’t we explore a bit more?" At this point, Chuxiong suddenly spotted the Spirit of the Hall and curiously asked: "Who is he?"

"Reporting to Star Sovereign, there are four levels. The fourth level is a crucial area; the three levels above cannot compare to it. I spend most of my time guarding here."
There were at least twenty rooms on both sides of the Passageway. Thinking of this, Li Hong couldn't contain his excitement: "Could it be that there are treasures in these rooms? For example, good cultivation methods or valuable artifacts?"

Li Hong and Chuxiong exchanged glances, their eyes sparkling with excitement; even advancing to Nascent Soul couldn't compare to this thrill.
This room was also at the bottom of the Passageway. Upon entering, Li Hong and Chuxiong immediately broke into smiles.
This space was peculiar; although there was a door, once inside, it was clear that the space had been expanded and layered. Looking around, rows upon rows of antique shelves stretched endlessly. Most shelves were empty, but many Silk Scrolls were carelessly tossed on them, resembling the worn-out and dirty ones like the Six Spirit Salty Ritual, dull and unremarkable.
Li Hong rushed to the nearest shelf and picked up a Silk Scroll. He held both ends and tried to pull it open, but the Silk Scroll remained unmoving.
"Star Sovereign, please infuse your spiritual power," said Spirit of the Hall.
At this reminder, Li Hong cursed himself internally for being so excited that he had forgotten this step!
Holding both ends of the Silk Scroll, he infused it with his Awareness. Sure enough, after a moment, a golden light flashed across the surface of the Silk Scroll, transforming it from its shabby state into a shimmering golden tome.
Carefully pulling it open just a bit, he glanced at it and felt his heart race.
Soul Searching Technique!
Holding the Silk Scroll, Li Hong became engrossed as he read and took notes.
Due to his practice of the Six Spirit Salty Ritual, his Divine Consciousness was exceptionally strong. Now that he had advanced to the Early Stage of Nascent Soul, his Divine Consciousness had increased tenfold or more. It could be said that his Divine Consciousness ranked among the top in the entire Immortal Sect. However, he struggled due to a lack of suitable Divination Techniques.
The Soul Searching Technique presented here is fundamentally the same as the rudimentary version I painstakingly developed back in Song Dynasty Lin'an, but it is much more comprehensive and profound, even clearly articulating the theories behind it. This realization left Li Hong feeling ecstatic, almost overwhelmed with joy.
Just as he was engrossed in his thoughts, Chuxiong shouted, "Big Brother! I can't open a single Silk Scroll here! What the hell is going on!"
The Spirit of the Hall had been by Li Hong's side and hesitated to respond upon hearing this.
Li Hong glanced at him and moved closer to Chuxiong, advising, "Try inputting your spiritual energy."
"I tried, but it didn't work," Chuxiong replied, visibly frustrated. He even demonstrated for Li Hong.
Indeed, red light flowed from his large hand towards the ancient scroll he held, but after a while, it remained sealed and unchanged, still unable to be opened.
"What do you think is the reason for this?" Li Hong asked casually, pretending to test the Spirit of the Hall.
The Spirit of the Hall replied, "I suspect that the Threefold Six Crossing Ten Thousand Source Technique is not a technique of the Star Sect. The scrolls stored here are all Star Sect Divine Technique scrolls; only those from the Star Sect can open them."
Li Hong pondered for a moment: "What you say makes sense. But this is indeed the Star Sect Temple. Why would there be a room that doesn't pass down techniques from the Star Sect? How strange."
"Indeed very strange," agreed the Spirit of the Hall, looking equally puzzled.
After thinking for a moment, Li Hong patted Chuxiong on his broad back and said with a smile, "Don't worry. Big Brother can open it. I'll take a look and then pass it on to you."
"That works," replied Chuxiong, relieved and grinning widely.
Suddenly, the Spirit of the Hall interjected, "That young lady has also come out."
Li Hong was overjoyed. "Let's go see!"
In the center of the Passageway, a figure stood gracefully with her back to them. Her slender waist could be grasped with one hand, and her flowing Silver Moon Robe, illuminated by moonlight, moved without wind. Two bright red Fire Jade Hairpins adorned her Dragon Bun Hairstyle, sparkling brilliantly. She was stunningly beautiful—none other than Chu Xi.
Sensing someone behind her, she turned around.
Li Hong was taken aback.
Chu Xi's cultivation had indeed advanced, but strangely, she had not reached the Nascent Soul stage; at most, she was at the late stage of Transmutation. Moreover, her expression was quite strange, somewhat confused and a bit fatigued. Her clear eyes looked just like before at first glance, but upon closer inspection, there was a faint blue light within them, almost unfathomable.

He needed to find out what exactly had happened to Chu Xi during that time.

The three lingered on the fourth level until Li Hong suddenly remembered that he hadn't even sent a message to Master Spirit Stone about the entrance to the Heavenly Grain Ancient Celestial Field; it was truly reckless.
After sharing this thought with Chu Xi and Chuxiong, they agreed it was best to head out.
Chu Xi communicated telepathically, "The Spirit of the Hall recognizes you as its master; this place will belong to you from now on. We can come whenever we want, so there's no need to worry about these treasures running away."
She made a small joke but spoke the truth.
In recent days, Li Hong had been communicating more with the Spirit of the Hall and learned some secrets about the Star Sect and the Spirit of the Hall.
The Star Sect seemed to be a major faction of the Ancient God, similar to an Immortal Sect. The Nine Sacred Star Sovereign was their highest leader, akin to a sect master figure.
They arrived here a long time ago and established a base. The Ancient Celestial Field is a crucial place for cultivating spiritual herbs and spiritual beasts. They built Five Great Teleportation Halls, all leading to this location, one of which has already been destroyed, leaving four remaining: the Desert Stone Fortress accessed via the Wandering Path of the Stars, the Ancient Celestial Field Temple, and two other temples. These four, along with the destroyed five temples, are similar to the gatehouses of Temple City; only through these gatehouses can one enter the center of Temple City and the central temple.
However, fifty thousand years ago, for unknown reasons, the Ancient Gods of the Star Sect all left. Li Hong speculates that they ascended to the Immortal Realm. Regardless of the reason, this Temple City and the five "gatehouse" temples were left behind, along with many treasures that were not taken away. Only the Spirit of the Hall remains.
He is a special life form composed of energy and a specific set of injected memories. He cannot survive outside the temple alone; his existence is solely to take care of this Temple City and those five gatehouse temples, waiting for the so-called Fire Saint to be resurrected.

If Temple City were solely in the hands of Nine Li Sect, their power could rival that of the entire Immortal Sect. But who knows if Nine Li Sect would not attract envy from the entire Immortal Sect like Heavenly Grain did? It could even provoke a collective attack from the Demon Sect.
