The golden light was incredibly dazzling, making it impossible to look directly at it, as if the sun had descended into the Underground. Wherever the golden light reached, it illuminated that place. Following the golden glow, everyone’s eyes sparkled with two bright points of gold.
Within the golden light, a shape emerged; it was not large and seemed to be a four-legged beast, with four upright wings outlined on its back. Beyond that, nothing else could be seen, as the golden light was too blinding.
Li Hong stepped forward from the crowd and asked, "Little Fei, is that you?"
The creature in the golden light seemed to nod and raised its leg before turning around and flying back toward the high wall.
Suddenly, Li Hong felt a surge of understanding and turned to shout, "Everyone step back, it's about to get intense!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a tremendous roar erupted behind them. The high wall shook violently, and a massive amount of dark energy burst forth, sending a chilling sensation piercing into everyone's hearts.
"Retreat!" Du Yizi shouted, quickly leading the way backward.
They retreated for a full ten miles.
In the distance, the magnificent Black High Wall occasionally erupted with points of golden light. Centered around those points of gold, the wall suddenly caved in, trembling violently before bursting outward. Following that, another wave of dark energy exploded, causing the entire Underground space to tremble. Stone peaks tilted and collapsed as numerous Underground Monsters were startled into a frantic escape.
The scattered golden lights became increasingly dense, resembling raindrops falling onto a calm lake—each drop striking the black Strange High Wall with violent tremors that sent rippling waves across its surface. A deep roar echoed from within the depths of the Black High Wall.
Li Hong called out, "Look up there!"
Everyone followed Li Hong's pointing finger. High above in the darkness was a hazy mass of golden light; tiny fragments of gold were emanating from this mass, each one striking the Strange Black High Wall.
"It's Little Fei's doing. That giant wall fears Little Fei's golden light," Li Hong exclaimed with raised eyebrows. "I'm going to help Little Fei!"
Yue Que summoned forth a streak of meteoric golden light aimed at the high wall as Li Hong shot forward with a whoosh.
Yue Que struck the high wall directly. Behind, Li Hong suddenly froze, a tremendous rebound force surged forth, emanating that extremely cold and bloodthirsty Yin Energy. Yue Que was violently bounced off the high wall, and Li Hong's body was also sent flying out.
Just then, Jiang Xuanzi and the others arrived, grabbing Li Hong and collectively shouting, "Kill that old monster!"
With a rumble, various magical artifacts were unleashed, colorful beams of light shooting forth like meteors racing to the moon, combined with streams of golden light, striking the thick skin of the Strange creature, causing it to tremble incessantly. The ripples intensified, and deep within the monster came a series of muffled roars of anger.
No one knew what this creature was; its thick skin surprisingly withstood countless Superior Spirit Artifacts along with Yue Que's near Celestial Artifact strikes. Each attack was repelled, and everyone felt a massive amount of stagnant Yin Energy bouncing back towards them. Whenever this happened, their bodies would feel an icy chill that penetrated to the bone, and they had to exert themselves to circulate their inner energy to break free.
Only Little Fei's golden light inflicted the most damage.
But no one stopped; Little Fei's peculiar golden light frequency increased even further. The creature's roars grew louder, and the entire high wall trembled from top to bottom.
Suddenly, a strong blue light flashed across the Black High Wall. The high wall began to sink into the abyss below, shrinking in height by half in the blink of an eye.
"It's trying to escape! What should we do?"
"Chase it!" countless voices shouted.
Suddenly, a dazzling golden light appeared, causing everyone, including Li Hong, to involuntarily turn their heads and shield their eyes. Through their fingers, they saw that the golden light had grown larger, reaching a diameter of nearly a hundred feet. It flew to the back of the high wall and suddenly vanished.
The Black High Wall paused in its descent before starting to shake violently, strange booming sounds emanating from within. Suddenly, numerous large cracks appeared on the surface of the Black High Wall, blinding golden light bursting forth from inside.
"Little Fei has gone in; it's inside that monster's belly." Li Hong could no longer hold back and flew above the Black High Wall.
The top of the Black High Wall remained as it was; however, where he stood was flat and vast. Stepping down caused his feet to sink in; it felt cool and had a strong elasticity. Li Hong bit down with Steel Tooth; Yue Que burst forth from his forehead. Just as he intended to direct Yue Que to pierce inside, he suddenly heard a delicate little girl's voice say, "Don't go in; I have a way. Master, please wait a moment."
"Master?" Li Hong was startled; this voice echoed in his heart, reminiscent of the moments when he communicated with Heavenly Torch. However, Heavenly Torch was clearly still practicing his "Sleeping Technique"! Could it be Little Fei? Li Hong tentatively used a similar method of mental communication as with Heavenly Torch and asked, "Is it Little Fei?"
"Master, it's Little Fei. Don't come in; it will be ready soon." The voice of the Little Girl faded away.
After a while, the rumbling sounds from within the high wall gradually diminished. Suddenly, golden light reappeared at the top of the wall.
This time, the golden light was not as intense as when it first appeared. Soon, the light retracted, revealing a strange four-legged beast joyfully running over.
The creature was about a foot long, shimmering with golden light. Its long, fine golden fur flowed down to its belly, and it had four silver-white claws and a cute clean silver nose. Although it looked much larger now, it resembled Little Fei. The main difference was that it had four three-foot-long golden wings on its back, two on each side of its shoulders. These golden wings were so strange that they seemed like a combination of a cat and a bird or a cat and a dragonfly.
Little Fei didn't even flap those peculiar wings but "flew" over instead. Its bright blue eyes rolled around, and the voice of the Little Girl echoed in his heart again: "Master, I’m back. Now let’s wait."
Little Fei jumped onto his shoulder and rubbed against Li Hong's neck affectionately.
Li Hong felt dizzy; Little Fei's voice sounded just like the Little Girl's. Could it really be her? Heavenly Torch's ominous words turned out to be true. He had always teased Little Fei, sometimes even kicking it like a ball; now he realized he had been mistreating the Little Girl. With this thought in mind, he looked at Little Fei and the astonished Jiang Xuanzi and others beside him, feeling an indescribable strangeness in his heart.
"Did you call for me?" Thinking of Heavenly Torch, who had actually woken up, he suddenly exclaimed, "Wow! What is this place?" Then he shouted again, "Oh no! What is that thing on your shoulder?"
"Do you want to know about the first question or the second one? For the first one, I'll tell you right now; for the second one, I'm afraid I still need you to tell me!" Li Hong replied irritably. He briefly explained the situation regarding Fengdu and quickly asked, "What is that monster that looks like a high wall?"
Heavenly Torch began to stir again, releasing waves of strange energy that Li Hong could feel. Immediately, some members of the Beast Cultivator Elder group behind them nervously craned their necks to look at Li Hong.
Du Yizi and Iron Ears subtly moved closer and patted Li Hong's shoulder while asking, "What should we do now?"
"It is said that that monster can change form. Everyone should rest for now; there may be another change soon."
"Alright." Du Yizi relayed Li Hong's words, subtly pushing Li Hong aside by two steps, placing his body between him and the others.
"Heavenly Torch said, 'That thing is terrifying; it seems to be some kind of ancient monster. However, I truly don't know what it is, only that it is a living creature. But there’s something wrong with its belly…'" At this point, he suddenly shouted, nearly shaking Li Hong's composure: "Yun Jiuzi is inside its belly!"
Li Hong was taken aback. "Are you saying that monster swallowed Yun Jiuzi?"
"No, no, it's a bit different…" Heavenly Torch seemed somewhat confused.
At this moment, a delicate voice from Little Girl interjected: "Master, that old dragon inside your body is very foolish; don’t believe what he says. I know, but I can't explain it clearly. Anyway, you'll understand soon."
