Kunlun. 0

Before him lay an endless sea of flowers, their fragrance soothing to the soul. A gentle breeze swept through, lifting colorful petals into the clear blue sky, creating a floral rain that danced like swarms of butterflies, drifting tenderly towards the distant green peaks. 0

Yun Jiuzi stood with his hands behind his back on the second floor of the Inn, the beautiful scenery seeming like an illusion. 0

His brows were tightly furrowed. It had been half a month since he arrived at Kunlun. On the surface, he was a guest invited by Kunlun, but since his arrival, he had effectively been under house arrest, with several followers trailing him closely wherever he went. 0

What was Kunlun really up to? Wasn't it said they were going to attack Fengdu? If they were going to fight, then just fight—why all these games? 0

At that moment, someone flew in from afar, shouting, "The Sect Leader requests your presence! Please go to Qionghua Palace immediately, the attack on Fengdu is tonight!" 0

Yun Jiuzi's eyes lit up; finally, it was happening! Without hesitation, he entered the building to gather his things, which mainly consisted of several jars of Kunlun's special wine packed into his Cosmic Bag. He then turned and sped towards Qionghua Palace. 0

Inside Qionghua Palace, no less than a hundred people had gathered, all prominent figures above the Nascent Soul Stage of the current Immortal Sect. Leading them were Xuan Xuzi and Yiyang. Upon seeing Yun Jiuzi enter, Xuan Xuzi made a show of courtesy, clasping his hands in greeting and inviting him to stand beside him. 0

On the other hand, Yiyang clearly knew about Yun Jiuzi's background. His gaze flickered with reluctance as he offered a slight bow before immediately looking down at a large map laid out before him. It was evident that he still harbored some resentment towards the Nine Li Sect. 0

The gathering of over a hundred people was composed of those who would be attacking Fengdu tonight. Apart from Xuan Xuzi and Yiyang, Yun Jiuzi did not recognize anyone else. However, he noticed at least two individuals whose cultivation levels were comparable to his own; one was from Emei, and the other from Kunlun. There were also over thirty other elders from both sects at the Nascent Soul Stage, while the remaining members included those from the other six major sects of the Immortal Sect, as well as individuals from the Five Elements Sect and Heavenly Grain. 0

This attack on Fengdu represented a significant investment by the Immortal Sect, bringing together its elite forces. 0

Pointing at the map before them, Xuan Xuzi said, "This is a detailed terrain map of Fengdu. We should ignore those folk legends; they are merely distractions created by the Demon Sect. The real stronghold of the Demon Sect, known as the Fengdu Dark Palace, is buried deep underground. The only way to infiltrate is through a secret passage at the back. Therefore, we will split into two groups: I will lead the elders at the Nascent Soul Stage in a frontal assault to draw attention away from our true objective, while Yun Jiuzi, Danxiazi, and Jiang Taozi, three of our great ancestors, will enter through the secret passage from behind. Ultimately, we will converge at the main hall. This battle must be swift; we need to catch Yandao Demon Lord off guard. If we can capture him, this operation will be a resounding success! Thus," he looked at the three ancestors: "Yun Jiuzi, you three are our trump card; eliminate any demons you encounter along the way, but your primary mission is to locate and kill Yandao!" 0

"Understood!" everyone responded in unison. 0

Exiting from Kunlun Heaven, under cover of nightfall, they swiftly divided into two groups and headed southeast. 0

In just an hour, the three of them arrived stealthily at Fengdu. 0

The mountains rise and fall, their ridges extending to the banks of the mighty Yangtze River, where a few low mounds stand close to the river. This is the legendary Fengdu Ghost City. It is now the cold winter season, and the weather is frigid. During the day, only a handful of tourists wander about, and at night, no one dares to come. According to legends in the Mortal Realm, this place is the underworld, where the King of Hell ascends his throne at night to judge souls. When night falls, Fengdu is filled with chilling winds and ghostly shadows, with ghost fires flickering everywhere, making it a place best avoided by the living. 0

There have been brave mortals who ventured into Fengdu at night, only to be found dead the next day with bulging eyes from sheer terror. After several such incidents, people began warning each other not to enter Fengdu after dark. 0

Now that night has fallen, it is indeed pitch black, with not a single light or shadow of a living person in sight. However, among the bushes, behind the grand hall, and in corners, more and more green phosphorescent flames begin to rise slowly, creating an eerie and terrifying atmosphere. There are fluctuations of Yin Power from demons, and their numbers are not few. 0

Yun Jiuzi and his companions are doing their utmost to conceal their presence as they wait high above for Xuan Xuzi's signal to act. At the same time, their Divine Consciousness has locked onto a target—a small inconspicuous hole on the shaded slope of a low mountain thirty miles away from Fengdu. 0

At midnight, a sudden rumble echoes ominously. The grand buildings on Fengdu's ground soar into the air as if concealed from view; splintered wood rains down like hail. Trees outside immediately catch fire, igniting Fengdu in a blazing inferno. Countless shooting stars streak toward Fengdu from above, lifting all layers of soil from the mountainside. All buildings and trees, along with the demons inside them, turn to ashes. 0

The nearby town erupts into chaos as many rush out of their homes shouting, "Fengdu has exploded!" A large crowd of citizens frantically runs toward Fengdu. 0

Suddenly, a commanding voice resounds from above: "You mortals are forbidden from prying into heavenly secrets! No one is allowed outside; otherwise, do not blame us for claiming your souls!" 0

The voice seems to echo in everyone's ears, causing the timid to collapse in fear. The mortals scream and scatter like birds and beasts, rushing back home to slam their doors shut and dive under their blankets, trembling in terror without daring to look again. 0

A few brave souls remain outside, hiding quietly on rooftops to watch. They see meteor showers falling toward Fengdu; various strange flashes crackle in the sky while thunder rumbles continuously throughout the night. 0

At that moment when thunder roars, Yun Jiuzi and his companions spring into action. Three beams of light invisible to mortal eyes swiftly dart into the hole and vanish. 0

The entrance of this hole is quite small; only one person can crawl through at a time. However, as they descend deeper, it gradually opens up until they can stand upright and eventually walk side by side. 0

Inside the cave is pitch black; one cannot see their hand in front of their face. It is damp everywhere; the walls are incredibly slippery and covered in moss. The ground is half a foot deep in rotten mud, with many decayed wooden shackles half-buried along the way. 0

Yun Jiuzi recalls legends with a bitter smile; it is said that this place leads to the underworld where Ghost Soldiers emerge to demand shackles from mortals for binding spirits. The local government allocates public funds for this purpose every year, selecting strong and daring mortals to carry newly made shackles to throw at the cave entrance. Overnight they disappear—allegedly taken by Ghost Soldiers for use. 0

In truth, it is all a trick orchestrated by the Demon Sect. 0

The darkness was not a problem for Yun Jiuzi and his companions; they focused intently and cautiously moved forward. 0

The tunnel extended downward, twisting and turning deeper into the Underground. As the wooden shackles began to fade, Yun Jiuzi sensed the fluctuations of Yin Power from the Demons. 0

At this point in the tunnel, just ten zhang ahead, two Demons lay quietly in the darkness. 0

Yun Jiuzi gestured to Danxiazi and Jiang Taozi behind him, then swiftly slid through the mud, reaching the two Demons in an instant. 0

These two Demons were merely cannon fodder at the Golden Core Stage. Before they could react, a tremendous force pierced through them, leaving them cold all over. After a brief pause, they exploded into a shower of blood without a sound. Two Golden Cores flew out in panic from the blood rain, but there was no escape! The Corpse Collection Bottle that Yun Jiuzi had obtained from Li Hong was already summoned, capturing the two Golden Cores with a whoosh. He casually returned the Corpse Collection Bottle to his Cosmic Bag. 0

Danxiazi and Jiang Taozi witnessed this but remained silent, pretending they had seen nothing. 0

The three continued forward; the guards became increasingly numerous. Almost every ten zhang they advanced, they encountered two Demons, whose cultivation levels grew higher as well. Eventually, Yun Jiuzi began to frown, realizing that they could no longer eliminate them silently. By this time, they had already descended over ten miles into the Underground. 0

The Fengdu Dark Palace was indeed very deep! Outside, there was no sign of activity from Xuan Xuzi. 0

After dispatching two late-stage Transmutation guards, a low voice suddenly rang out ahead: "Heavenly Numbers Eighty-Six and Eighty-Seven, what are you doing over there?" Two figures rushed over like a gust of wind, accompanied by hissing sounds. 0

Yun Jiuzi's ears perked up; it was the bone whistle used to control Walking Corpses—there were Walking Corpses here too! 0

Moments later, the two figures approached quickly. With one strike, they turned into blood rain again, and their Golden Cores were once more collected by the Corpse Collection Bottle. However, unusual strange noises began to echo from behind them, and a pungent stench filled the tunnel. 0

It turned out that although this tunnel was naturally formed, it had been expanded by Demons. On both sides of the main passage were slanted holes resembling hidden chambers filled with numerous Walking Corpses that would be activated upon sensing intruders. 0

Yun Jiuzi was no stranger to Walking Corpses. With a thought, a beam of golden light shot out rapidly. This time he broke his usual practice of not using Flying Swords. 0

The golden light suddenly expanded to nearly match the height of the tunnel walls and spun rapidly like a Blade Wheel as it flew into the group of Walking Corpses. Amidst hissing sounds, blood and flesh splattered everywhere as the Flying Sword advanced like a meat grinder, releasing an intensely pungent odor that was almost unbearable. Danxiazi and Jiang Taozi followed closely behind Yun Jiuzi but could not hold their breath; they were immediately overwhelmed by the stench and nearly vomited, hastily pinching their noses and fanning themselves. 0

Yun Jiuzi was already prepared. Not only did he hold his breath, but he also swallowed the Antidote Pill in his mouth and quickly tossed a piece of Supreme Fire Jade Essence into his mouth as a backup. This tactic was learned from Li Hong. He followed the Blade Wheel-like Flying Sword swiftly forward, leaving behind a long, terrifying path strewn with shredded flesh and internal organs, the ground soaked in Purple Blood, with the cave ceiling smeared with bloody entrails. 0

Half an hour later, the Walking Corpse horde was annihilated. All the Demons and Walking Corpses guarding the cave were exterminated, and the three of them arrived at a massive stone door. 0

The stone door stood ten feet tall and three feet thick, with two panels tightly sealed together. There were no handles or rings to pull on; the strangest part was that the lower half of the door actually sank into the ground. Upon careful probing with Divine Consciousness, they discovered that the door was much wider and deeper than the passage outside, standing thirty feet high and twenty feet underground. Behind the stone door was a vast open space filled with strong waves of Demon Yin Power. 0

It was evident that this stone door could only be opened from within; it could not be breached from the outside. 0

The three exchanged glances. The elder Danxiazi from Emei whispered, "Our Emei Sect has only explored this far; we have no idea what lies beyond. Do you think we should force our way in or find a way to open the door?" 0

"Find a way to open the door?" Yun Jiuzi scoffed. "Do you think they will let us in?" His robes billowed as he declared, "I will break down the door; you all charge in! Eliminate every single one without leaving any survivors!" 0

With a thunderous roar, the stone door shattered into powder. Amidst the gray mist, two figures swiftly rushed inside, followed by a cacophony of screams echoing from within—one after another, some even choked halfway through their cries. 0

Danxiazi and Jiang Taozi indeed acted quickly. 0

Yun Jiuzi did not follow them in but turned around, frowning as he looked outward. There was no sound coming from that direction; it was dark and eerily quiet. 0

Something felt off; entering here seemed too easy. 0
