The sky, which had been clear just moments ago, suddenly became overcast with dark clouds pressing down on the Sea Surface. The water shifted abruptly from deep blue to deep black. The expanse between the sky and the sea turned pitch black.
Bright lightning pierced through the clouds, followed by a series of thunderous booms. The wind howled fiercely, and the waves grew taller, splashing against the bow and sides of the ship, sending sprays of water crashing onto everyone’s faces, thick with the salty scent of the sea.
The Sea Ship rocked violently as it struggled through increasingly towering waves. Suddenly, Old Man Lin at the bow shouted, “What is that!”
Li Hong rushed out of the main cabin and ran to the front of the ship to look in the direction Old Man Lin was pointing. What he saw left him stunned.
Amidst the rolling waves, something slowly emerged from the water, so large it was beyond description. At first glance, it appeared to be an enormous iron pillar reaching up to the sky. However, its top was forked, resembling a broom with its bristles splayed out; it was impossible to tell exactly what it was. The object pierced through the clouds. Without any visible movement, a massive whirlpool began to form around it, churning violently over a hundred-mile radius!
The Sea Ship was helplessly drawn toward the whirlpool, spinning rapidly as it approached the object.
The sailors on board turned pale with fear, running frantically across the deck. Old Man Lin suddenly recalled what Li Hong had just advised and shouted, “No chaos! No one is allowed to make a sound! Secure yourselves with ropes. This is the Dragon King's emergence!”
After saying this, he resolutely turned back, found a thick rope, and tied himself to the Mast while calling out, “Li Gongzi! The lives of one hundred thirty-five people on this ship are all entrusted to you!” He then bit his tongue tightly and dared not make another sound.
The Dragon King has emerged! Li Hong was reminded by his words and quickly asked Heavenly Torch, “Could this be your kind? Another dragon?”
Heavenly Torch seemed somewhat frustrated: “It is my kind, but just a foolish little fellow that hasn’t transformed yet; this could be troublesome. It might want to show off in front of me. If it were before, I would have surely beaten it until it didn’t know its own name! But now I can’t even reveal myself! What should we do? This foolish creature could capsize this ship!”
Li Hong stomped his foot in anger: “I told you to find Clear Water; why did you bring a dragon instead!”
“When a dragon appears, Clear Water naturally follows; the Water Dragon clan can summon rain—don’t you know that?” Heavenly Torch replied defensively.
Li Hong lamented further: “The problem is you need to find a dragon that can communicate or one that has already transformed into human form!”
“I mentioned earlier that... this is uncertain; let’s give it a try. Who knew such a foolish dragon would appear…” Heavenly Torch murmured.
As they spoke, the Sea Ship was faster than a galloping horse, spinning so rapidly that it made one dizzy, and in the blink of an eye, it had traveled hundreds of miles across the Sea Surface. It was approaching the enormous Dragon Tail Whip that extended out of the water. Here, the Sea Surface dipped strangely low, with turbulent waves surrounding it, yet inside the whirlpool, it was calm as if the wind had stopped. The only sight was the massive Dragon Tail Whip stretching from the water's surface up into the clouds.
As they got closer, it became increasingly clear just how enormous this Water Dragon was. Its tail alone was thick and long like a towering iron pillar, reflecting an unusual metallic sheen. The gigantic dragon scales were about the size of tabletops, with razor-sharp edges glinting like blades.
Ling Yi Zi stood at the bow of the ship, motionless, curiously examining the giant Dragon Tail Whip. At that moment, he turned his head and saw Li Hong's strange expression. He furrowed his brow and transmitted a message: "Is this what your all-knowing summoned 'Clear Water'? It seems difficult; we may need to fight first."
"No! If that's the case, this ship will definitely capsize, and over a hundred lives on board will be lost!" Li Hong thought quickly and decided to take a risk. "Leave the ship to you! This foolish dragon is mine!"
"Alright!"
Li Hong soared into the air, diving straight at the massive black dragon's Dragon Tail Whip.
Old Man Lin watched as Li Hong flew up, nearly biting his own tongue in shock, causing him pain that brought tears to his eyes. Just as he was about to shout out, he remembered Li Hong's instructions and swallowed his cry, forcing himself to endure the pain while keeping his eyes wide open to watch Li Hong's actions.
In an instant, Li Hong had reached the top of the Dragon Tail Whip, lightly standing on the clouds as he communicated with Heavenly Torch and Divine Consciousness: "I've decided to act as you! Quickly continue releasing your aura; I'll handle the rest!"
"Okay!" Without hesitation, Heavenly Torch complied, unleashing an unseen powerful dragon might centered around Li Hong.
The foolish dragon below immediately sensed it and suddenly sank into the water. The enormous Dragon Tail Whip vanished.
The whirlpool also disappeared in an instant, and seawater surged wildly towards them. The Sea Ship, positioned at the edge of the whirlpool, first sank slightly before suddenly shooting up from the sea, rising hundreds of feet in an instant. Old Man Lin and others felt their hearts leap into their throats; they were so uncomfortable that they nearly fainted.
The ship bore this immense force; its entire body creaked dangerously with ominous sounds coming from all directions.
Then a fierce wind blew in rapidly; every sail on board filled completely. The entire ship first tilted leftward at a dizzying speed as it sped over ten miles of Sea Surface before suddenly shuddering again. The whole vessel creaked as it slowly began to tip toward port side. Pots and miscellaneous items on deck flew off rapidly towards the Sea Surface, leaving the deck clean in an instant.
The ship was about to capsize! Old Man Lin's eyes bulged in fear; unable to hold back any longer, he shouted incoherently: "Cut the ropes!"
Ling Yi Zi heard it, but saw him standing proudly at the bow of the ship, unfazed as he threw out "Ask the Way." A beam of white light spun and flew across the entire ship, quickly retreating and disappearing.
The sailors had yet to react when they heard a series of loud crashes, and all the sails of the ship fell. The hull trembled, tilting to the left before slowly righting itself.
It was only then that Old Man Lin let out a long breath, realizing he had been holding his breath in fear. At that moment, he witnessed a scene he had never seen before, his eyes bulging once again.
This time, Old Man Lin was even more straightforward; he simply tilted his head and fainted.
A massive black dragon head slowly rose from the Sea Surface, a true behemoth, likely several miles thick!
The sea water surged violently again, this time outward, as a wave nearly reaching the sky rushed toward the Sea Ship. Ling Yi Zi smiled slightly and pushed forward with both hands, unleashing a gentle yet unmatched force that sent the spray soaring high into the air.
The roar was terrifying. However, the small Sea Ship used this force to swiftly retreat at an alarming speed, quickly exiting the dark waters.
Outside, the sea was calm; the waves were merely slightly elevated. The sky and ocean remained a clear blue, as if what had just occurred was nothing but a mirage. Only Ling Yi Zi could see that in the distance, there was a patch of Sea Surface covered by strange dark clouds that gathered without dispersing. There, the water churned violently; it was truly an abyss.

Li Hong hovered in mid-air beneath the clouds, his garments billowing as a tremendous dragon aura emanated from him.
This was the fiery dragon aura cultivated over millennia. Below, the clumsy giant Water Dragon began to feel uneasy. It twisted its round body, its large head bobbing left and right as if trying to avoid Li Hong's discomforting presence above while reluctant to sink into the depths of the ocean.
The Divine Dragon clan has existed since ancient times; they are true innate spirit beasts.
The predecessors of the Demon Sect, those ancient fellows who hunted spirit beasts for their demon pills to cultivate their powers, sought after Divine Dragon's dragon pearls—essentially spirit pills of their kind—killing them whenever they found one to divide the spoils. As a result, the Divine Dragon clan gradually declined; not only them but all Ancient Spirit Beasts began to fade away.
In ancient times, Divine Dragons were said to be rulers of heaven and earth, the most powerful divine beasts whose presence was everywhere. However, after years of being hunted down by the Demon Sect for their pills, only a few timid ones and their descendants remain hidden away in seclusion today.
The true elites of the Dragon Clan perished over the long years fighting against the Demon Sect. Among these elites, a few managed to escape the clutches of the Demon Sect and ascend to the Immortal Realm with their Dragon Power fully developed, but most still fell at the hands of the Demon Sect. It is a great irony that those who truly inherited the bloodline of the Divine Dragon were the timid ones who dared not show their faces back then.
They are divided into five branches according to the Five Elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. The Metal-type Divine Dragon is the rarest and has vanished into ancient legends. Wood-type dragons can occasionally be seen, while Water, Fire, and Earth types are the most common. In fact, regardless of the type of Divine Dragon, their cultivation methods and divine abilities are largely similar. Once they reach a stage where they can transform into human form, their divine abilities become universally applicable and are not limited to their original attributes. The most powerful divine ability of the Divine Dragon is its innate dragon breath. This is a truly devastating attack capable of destroying heaven and earth, but it consumes the Divine Dragon's own life force; thus, they never use it lightly unless in dire situations.
The Water Dragon before him seems to have lived for quite a long time.
Since Four Thousand Years Ago, after Yandao Demon Lord improved Demonic Arts, the Demon Sect has primarily relied on enhancing human souls to increase their cultivation. The remaining spirit beasts began to sense a hint of freedom and gradually dared to show themselves. This Water Dragon is likely a descendant of the ancient Leaked Fish's Divine Dragon, feeling the presence of its kind and unable to resist coming out from the depths of the sea to take a look.
However, what it saw was a person, which left it puzzled. It had been so long since it encountered its kind that even though Li Hong emitted a powerful aura that made it feel somewhat uncomfortable, it still couldn't bear to leave but didn't know what to do. This was why this Divine Dragon remained still yet shook its head vigorously.
Li Hong began to understand and asked Heavenly Torch, "Do you think I have a chance of using Beast Taming Technique to subdue it with my cultivation level?"
Heavenly Torch rolled his eyes and sarcastically replied to Li Hong, "Even if it's just an insignificant junior, this clumsy fellow is still classified as a Low-Level Celestial Beast. You might as well give up on that idea; be careful not to get bitten back if you fail to subdue it. Aren't you planning to act like my elder? Then keep acting. I'll just keep messing around."
Heavenly Torch extended his claw and pointed between his horns on his forehead. Then he saw him break open his scalp, allowing a small drop of bright red dragon blood containing extraordinary energy and strange fluctuations to slowly ooze out. Heavenly Torch caught this drop of blood in his dragon claw and stretched it forward.
Strangely enough, this drop of blood seeped through the light green transparent shell of the Fire Separation Pearl and flew into the Upper Dantian space. Just as Li Hong was observing this peculiarity inwardly, he saw a flash of red light, and that drop of blood disappeared.
