Ancient Yan Mountain The remnants of the mountain range stretched on, resembling a winding dragon coming from the west and heading east. Dragon Tail Whip met the water, abruptly stopping before plunging into the sea.
Along the shore of the vast ocean stood several low cliffs. The waves crashed against the rocks, stirring up heaps of foam. Countless splashes collided with the cliffs under the force of the waves, creating a continuous roar of the sea.
These cliffs appeared unremarkable, rounded like small hills, not very high, with sheer cliffs facing the sea and rarely visited by people. However, according to Du Yizi, this was precisely where Jingwei had relocated. Yet, after wandering around for two to three hours, they had not seen a trace of Jingwei.
“Let’s just call out,” Li Hong shouted at the top of his lungs: “Jiang Xuanzi, where are you? Hurry out, we have guests!”
His voice cut through the air, overpowering the thunderous sound of the waves. A large flock of seagulls took flight from the cliff tops, feathers scattering wildly as some even fell onto their heads or flew into their mouths.
The two spat out in disgust and quickly took to the air, landing lightly on the Sea Surface, balancing gracefully atop the crests of the waves.
Ling Yi Zi remarked, “The way you phrase it sounds just like how Mortal Realm Bawer calls out to his little minions to welcome guests. If I were Jiang Xuanzi, I definitely wouldn’t come out.”
“Oh? So Master Uncle has played this tune before; your disciple is indeed less experienced!” Li Hong laughed. “Next time we go to Mortal Realm, why don’t you take me along to see?”
Ling Yi Zi scoffed, “What’s so good about that place? It’s filled with insincere vixens.”
Li Hong was taken aback and thought, so you really have been there! Just as he was about to tease further, he felt a shift in his mind and directed his Divine Consciousness towards beneath the Sea Surface.
The cliffs were submerged beneath the water, and just moments ago, there had been unusual energy fluctuations below the surface.
The demonic energy was quite different from the spiritual energy of the Immortal Sect or the unique Yin Power of Demon Sect Monsters. Having encountered it before, Li Hong naturally recognized this special energy signature. At that moment, it was indeed demonic energy fluctuating beneath the surface.
Upon closer inspection near the cliffs below the Sea Surface, several stone pillars resembling stalagmites could be seen. Behind these pillars, a dark circular opening silently emerged from within the rocks.

Li Hong and Ling Yi Zi exchanged a glance, and with a swift movement, they dove into the water, just in time to reach the front of the transparent strange shadow.
Li Hong cupped his hands and said, "Elder Brother Ling Yi Zi and Elder Chu Hongzi from Nine Vermilion Peaks pay their respects to Senior Jingwei. We were sent by Big Brother Du Yizi, and we kindly ask you to inform Jiang Xuanzi, our Ancestor."
The shadow moved slightly, and Li Hong heard a surprised male voice exclaim nearby. The transparent shadow then raised its formless finger, pointing directly at him, and the surprised voice echoed again: "You are clearly human and not using any magical artifacts. How can you avoid the water?!"
Li Hong thought to himself that this was an obvious question; it was naturally due to the abilities borrowed from the Celestial Torch Old Dragon. With the Fire Separation Pearl within him, he was impervious to water, so moving through it was merely a trivial matter.
He chuckled lightly, "It's just a small skill; there's nothing to be surprised about. I hope I haven't embarrassed you, Brother Jingwei."
"You two wait here. I will go report," the shadow said before turning and disappearing into the dark entrance.
Li Hong waited quietly as the seawater automatically parted around him, creating a gap of about a foot between his body and the water, allowing him to move and speak freely. In contrast, Ling Yi Zi was fully submerged in seawater, with his clothes and hair floating up and down in the water. He relied on his cultivation to hold his breath, making his movements somewhat inconvenient.
There was no sound from inside the cave for a long time. Li Hong used his Divine Consciousness to probe inside but could only sense a powerful aura of demonic energy without being able to see anything specific. It seemed there were Restrictions at the entrance.
After what felt like an eternity of waiting, just as impatience began to set in, a voice finally came from inside: "The Clan Leader requests your presence. However, do you two dare to enter?"
What did that mean? Was there some kind of test?
Ling Yi Zi suddenly straightened his chest and transmitted his voice: "Tell him we will definitely enter! Even if it's a dragon's den or tiger's lair, we will charge in!"
Li Hong raised his head and said, "Please lead the way, Brother Jingwei."
"Come in on your own," the voice replied coldly.
The Restrictions at the entrance opened. The seawater surged into the cave. Li Hong's eardrums buzzed with the roaring sound of crashing waves. After a while, the noise subsided as bubbles gurgled up, leaving complete silence inside. The entire cave was now filled with seawater.
Li Hong led the way with Ling Yi Zi following closely behind as they both clung to the entrance and swam inside.
It was very dark, but Li Hong had night vision, and now with his Divine Consciousness exceptionally strong, the darkness felt no different from daylight to him. Ling Yi Zi summoned his "Ask the Way" in hand, and the snow-colored blade light immediately illuminated their surroundings.
This was a round stone cave, deep beneath the sea, with a considerable area, but it was empty inside. It seemed to be merely an exit on the outskirts of the Jingwei Clan.
According to Du Yizi, the Jingwei Clan Leader Jiang Xuanzi was quite reasonable and should not resort to violence immediately upon meeting. However, despite their thoughts, the two exchanged glances and simultaneously heightened their vigilance, preparing for battle.
Lingyi transformed into a three-foot-long sword at his will. Li Hong beckoned and grasped it in his hand, pointing it toward the bottom of the cave.
There was a door down there.

In the surrounding dark waters, many glowing Phantoms appeared, looking hazy and humanoid yet somewhat different—strange, like ghosts.
Jingwei, according to legend, was the daughter of the ancient Flame Emperor who fell into water and transformed; her spirit did not disperse after death but became a bird that carried wood and stones day and night to fill the Azure Sea.
But the truth was otherwise. Jingwei was an ancient innate spirit beast that existed long before the Flame Emperor in ancient times. They lived in groups and had a natural ability to conceal their physical forms. When cultivated to the highest level, they could not only transform into human forms but also turn their human forms into Phantoms, appearing unexpectedly beside their enemies—illusory and real, difficult to guard against.
At this moment, the Cave Full of Crystals shimmered with Phantoms; upon counting roughly, there were about thirty to fifty overlapping around them. Their transparent bodies flickered with light as they swayed in the dark waters, creating an indescribably eerie scene.
Suddenly, a sharp shriek pierced through the air; the Cave Full of Crystals' Phantoms moved. Each Jingwei Warrior wielded a similarly Phantom-shaped long weapon that silently pierced through the water with incredible speed, reaching Li Hong and Ling Yi Zi in an instant.
Li Hong and Ling Yi Zi simultaneously changed their moves.
On the left side, Li Hong shouted loudly as Lingyi suddenly expanded and swung out a sword. At the same time, on the right side, Ling Yi Zi swiftly drew a large circle with the blade tip of his Divine Weapon "Ask the Way." The two perfectly positioned themselves back-to-back at the cave entrance to block all incoming transparent weapons.
Clang... countless sharp sounds merged into one loud noise that made Li Hong's eardrums buzz.
The sea surged violently, rushing toward the cave entrance, with the sound of crashing waves echoing thunderously outside, creating a breathtaking atmosphere. The unstoppable energy returned to the shore, smashing against the cliffs and sending fragments flying. Countless seagulls were startled into flight, abandoning their nests.
Inside the cave, time seemed to freeze. The Jingwei Warrior missed its strike and quickly retreated. Suddenly, darkness enveloped the area as the glow from the Cave Full of Crystals vanished in an instant.
Ling Yi Zi transmitted coldly, "Be careful, they haven't left; they just stopped glowing."
"Mm," Li Hong was already aware of this. His Divine Consciousness sensed many fluctuations of demonic energy, understanding that the earlier appearance of the Jingwei Warrior's glowing figure was merely a warning; now was the real contest.
Sure enough, the sea began to stir silently once more, and a bone-chilling cold surrounded them, increasing the pressure on both. The water in the Cave Full of Crystals suddenly started to swirl, pulling them involuntarily toward the center of the cave, leaving them unable to lean against the entrance.
In the whirlpool, Ling Yi Zi's hair had come undone, flowing around him like seaweed as it twisted with the water currents. He slowly exhaled a stream of bubbles while his sharp eyes focused intently ahead.
Unlike Ling Yi Zi, Li Hong maintained a distance of over a foot from the water, not even getting his clothes wet. The Lingyi in his hand was perfectly positioned to reach into the water. He calmly shouted, "No surprise attacks! If you want to fight, then fight; there’s no need for tricks! Let’s get started!"
The Lingyi glowed brilliantly and suddenly flew from his hand, striking directly at the stone door ahead. However, it was Li Hong who acted first.
The sea surged violently again as red light burst from the stone door without any movement. Li Hong raised his hand, and the Lingyi swiftly flew back. Before he could grasp it, an invisible weapon blocked its return path while Li Hong suddenly felt several weapons stabbing toward his left side.
Did they think I only had one sword?
Li Hong revealed a hint of a mocking smile as the Five Elements Shuttle emerged from his forehead. With his mind guiding it, he slashed at those invisible weapons and their owner. He soared high into the air, clapping his hands together toward those unseen Jingwei Warriors on the cave ceiling.
At the same time, Ling Yi Zi also moved. With Ask the Way in hand, he drew a swift white line that shot from in front of him to behind him, rapidly stirring up a large circular vortex.
The sea in the Cave Full of Crystals surged violently once more; with one move from Ling Yi Zi, it caused all the water to rush out instantly. In an instant, not a single drop remained in the cave; it became a true vacuum.
In that moment, Ling Yi Zi soared high and shouted, "Go down!" Ask the Way struck rapidly against the cave ceiling. A series of sharp sounds echoed as Jingwei Warriors were struck by the back of his blade and could no longer remain invisible; one after another fell to the bottom of the cave.
Seeing this, Li Hong laughed heartily and transformed into a Whirlwind, swiftly kicking each Jingwei Warrior down to the cave floor amidst his rapid movements.
The two shared a mutual understanding and showed mercy, merely sealing the powers of the Jingwei Warriors.
However, amidst the chaotic cries, in the blink of an eye, the cave floor was filled with fallen figures, all unable to remain invisible. These Jingwei Warriors wore black cloaks, their faces resembling humans but sporting long, pointed beaks that gave them a bird-like appearance, which was quite unflattering.
The powerful force of the seawater that had been blocking the cave entrance had now dissipated, and with a loud crash, the sea rushed in. The Jingwei Warriors were tossed about chaotically by the massive influx of water.
In just one move, the outcome was decided.
Li Hong chuckled and called out while clinging to the cave ceiling, "Jiang Xuanzi, Ancestor, please come out to meet us!"
The seawater silently surged out of the cave, and in a moment, not a drop remained inside. The stone door at the bottom of the cave opened, and a young man slowly stepped out.
He lightly flicked his fingers, sending invisible energy swiftly towards the disoriented Jingwei Warriors in the Cave Full of Crystals. Those individuals quickly stood up, their figures swaying before they vanished once again.
"I am Jiang Xuanzi," the young man declared with an imposing presence, standing tall with his hands behind his back.
