Golden Path felt solid underfoot, as if there was something tangible beneath.
As I passed through the layer of Purple Qi, my eyes suddenly brightened at the sight of a vast Gorge. Surrounded by towering mountains and countless valleys filled with Flowing Spring, there were endless seasonal flowers and an abundance of breathtaking scenery.
In front stood a Peak that pierced the clouds, its height unknown, magnificently connecting to the heavens. Countless waterfalls from the high Summit cascaded down gracefully, resembling strands of white smoke from a distance. The mountains were layered with numerous medicinal fields, where many Pharmacists were busy at work. A group of elegant red-crowned cranes circled above the Peak, their melodious calls floating lightly in the wind, their flight graceful and ethereal. Occasionally, they would fold their wings and slowly descend onto the medicinal fields, and after a while, a red crane would return with a small medicinal basket in its beak, soaring towards the sky behind the Peak.
Looking up at the sky, there was no sign of Purple Qi; instead, the blue sky and white clouds were refreshingly clear, filled with the soothing fragrance of herbs in the breeze.
The Misty Veil of the Hundred Herbs Formation truly was a marvel of nature, extraordinary in every way.
Disciples from the three sects of Jiu Li, Emei, and Kongtong followed closely behind their elders, trying to maintain their composure while their eyes wandered everywhere.
I heard Qing Yizi laugh and say, "The real day is the day after tomorrow, but everyone said they would arrive early. Today, besides your three sects, Penglai, New Luo, and Xuanwei will also be here." Just then, three clear chimes rang out from the high Summit. Qing Yizi smiled and said, "Look, they have arrived! I will go to welcome them; you three wait here. Later, let’s all go to the Reception Hall together for some excitement. How does that sound?"
The three from Yiyang eagerly agreed, watching as Qing Yizi led a group of Pharmacists into the sky.
"This old man is getting more and more showy. This time I brought all our decent new disciples from Emei. If even one is missing, I wonder how he will explain it!" As soon as Qing Yizi flew away, Yiyang's expression turned disdainful, completely different from his earlier amiable demeanor.
Bai Juzi's expression also grew cold in an instant as he scoffed, "Exactly. To dare make fun of our new talents from the Nine Major Sects of the Immortal Sect, he must be tired of living!"
Ling Xuzi was taken aback and quietly advised, "He can hear you; everyone be careful."
"Ling Xuzi, you are too cautious! This year alone, you received half as many pills from us at Nine Li Sect, yet you still manage to smile at that old man!" Yiyang snorted disdainfully at Ling Xuzi's approach. He continued, "Just wait and see; there will definitely be many stories from this new talent competition!"
Looking up from the valley, the sky was clear and unobstructed, unaffected by the Misty Veil of the Hundred Herbs Formation.
A faint, strange Azure Shadow appeared in the sky. The Azure Shadow grew larger and soon flew above Heavenly Grain, revealing itself to be a massive azure dragon.
With its claws bared and a body stretching over a hundred feet long, the dragon shimmered with Azure Light. A layer of mist swirled around it, and under the sunlight, countless rainbows danced around, making the Five-Clawed Divine Dragon look majestic.
Someone in the crowd exclaimed, "The hornless azure dragon of Penglai's Guardian Beast of the Mountain!"
Upon closer inspection, the dragon indeed had no horns; its enormous head was bald, with several hard scales resembling diamonds tightly covering its forehead, reflecting strange colors. Many people stood on its broad back, revealing that this azure dragon was actually a mount.
The Heavenly Torch in the Upper Dantian sensed a kindred spirit and immediately woke up. It seemed to "see" for a moment before disdainfully saying, "I thought it was truly a relative; turns out it's just a fake that’s an evolved spirit snake. Bah!" It flipped over and went back to sleep.
Li Hong smiled. He thought the azure dragon looked quite impressive.
No fewer than sixty or seventy people jumped off the azure dragon, and leading them was Penglai Sect Leader Yin Zezi. He flew forward to greet Qing Yizi and spoke for quite a while. However, through the Misty Veil of the Hundred Herbs Formation, their conversation could not be heard. After the hornless azure dragon let everyone dismount, it immediately returned along the same path, and the Azure Shadow vanished into the horizon in an instant.
Qing Yizi nodded and took out a small jade bottle from his robe. He poured it into the air, and suddenly heavy rain began to fall from the sky. A massive amount of water flowed continuously from such a small jade bottle. Instead of pouring downwards, it gathered in mid-air to form a water pool with a diameter of ten feet.
The water pool was incredibly strange; looking up from below, it appeared transparent with rippling waves that remained perfectly circular without spilling out. It gathered in mid-air in this peculiar manner.
Qing Yizi and Penglai Sect Leader Yin Zezi stepped back a few paces. The transparent water pool began to ripple, and suddenly, a snow-white bare foot appeared in the water, followed by another… A figure gradually emerged from within the pool. At first somewhat transparent, it slowly solidified before flying out of the pool to stand before Qing Yizi and Yin Zezi.
It was a barefoot female cultivator. She wore an azure feather robe with a crane cloak, her long hair as dark as ink cascading down her back without any adornments. Her bare feet were as white as frost and smooth as cream. The male disciples below, including Li Hong, felt embarrassed to look further and all lowered their heads.
"The New Luo Sect Leader Yuan Zhenzi prefers to use water escape whenever she goes out; she seems like someone who avoids trouble but actually has quite some courage. Not long ago, she even stirred things up at Heavenly Grain. I fear she might run into Azure Elder again and there will be more excitement to watch," Yiyang said with a smile to Bai Juzi.
Ling Xuzi's brow slightly furrowed unnoticed by others.
Yuan Zhenzi had skin that appeared pale and slightly blue, with a dignified and ancient-looking face. She was serious and solemn, showing not a trace of a smile, which made one instinctively want to keep their distance. It was clear that she was a person of integrity, perhaps overly so. Aside from her bare feet, there was not a hint of femininity about her.
One after another, barefoot female cultivators dressed in green emerged from the water. Although they were completely dry, their snow-white bare feet caused the male disciples below to feel flustered and embarrassed. It wasn't until more than thirty of them had passed that no one else stepped out. The female cultivators lined up behind the sect leader, Yuan Zhenzi, standing respectfully with their heads bowed, making it difficult to see their faces, but it could be assumed that among them were many beauties.
Qing Yizi did not retrieve the water from his peculiar little jade bottle; instead, he took a green branch from a nearby pharmacist's basket and tossed it into the pool.
The green branch stood upright in the water and immediately began to sprout roots at an astonishing speed that was almost imperceptible to the naked eye. The onlookers were astonished as they watched the branch grow into a towering tree in just a short moment. The massive white roots swayed gracefully in the clear water below, visible to everyone.
Before they could fully recover from their astonishment, the tree quickly blossomed, and in an instant, it was covered in white flowers. Tiny figures no larger than an inch flew out from the flower petals.
As soon as they emerged, they grew larger until they were the size of ordinary people, landing in front of Qing Yizi. Leading them was Anqi Zi, the sect leader of Xuanwei.
Qing Yizi exchanged a few pleasantries with a smile before using the small jade bottle to collect the water from the pool and then led everyone down into the valley.
Spirit Stone smiled and said, "Water escape and wood escape; New Luo Xuanwei truly opens my eyes." He turned to Li Hong and winked, lightly tapping his forehead.
Li Hong understood his meaning very well; from now on, he had to be extremely cautious, especially regarding the band on his forehead, which must not be removed for even a moment.
