Nine Separation Peak, Celestial Pavilion.
It was hard to tell how many levels high this place was. In front of him stood numerous thick columns, and in the distance, the magnificent Jade Heaven Platform was clearly visible. Spirit Stone led the way without stopping, soon turning right and crossing a long corridor, with the Passageway curving to the right.
As they walked, they reached the end of the Passageway, where Spirit Stone stopped at the door of the last room. He pointed at the door, and the heavy stone door opened easily. He turned and said, "This is it, come in."
Inside was an empty room, with a strange red and white pattern in the center of the Black Jade floor. On the pattern lay a purple Reed Mat. This Reed Mat was the only thing in the room.
Spirit Stone pointed at the Reed Mat and said, "Sit on it."
Li Hong was unsure what to do and sat down on the Reed Mat in confusion.
"Sit cross-legged properly, don't sit like that," Spirit Stone commanded.
After some effort, Li Hong finally managed to bend his legs correctly. He then heard Spirit Stone say, "Now take this pill, don’t think about anything, just sit quietly with your eyes closed until you can see what’s inside your body; that will mean you’ve passed."
Li Hong was taken aback and asked, "What do you mean by seeing what's inside my body? How can a person see inside their own body with their eyes closed?! You can't even see it with your eyes open!"
"Do as I say and stop asking questions! Keep your mind clear, and then you will discover something. As for what you discover, everyone has different talents; anyway, the standard is being able to see clearly inside your body. Until then, you are not allowed to leave this Reed Mat, nor step out of the Spirit Gathering Array, which is this pattern here," Spirit Stone impatiently pointed at the Red and White Pattern on the floor.
Li Hong nodded in confusion.
Spirit Stone extended his hand, revealing a small green pill in his palm that looked like a round green bean. He ordered, "Take it."
Li Hong picked up the pill and tossed it into his mouth without chewing, swallowing it whole.
"Spirit Stone," he nodded, "You just focus on your work inside. Remember, you are not allowed to leave this formation. When the time comes, I will come in to check on you, but until then, you must not come out."
The door closed automatically with a loud thud after he stepped out, sealing tightly and plunging everything into darkness. Li Hong then realized that this room had no windows! He wasn't afraid of the dark; he had night vision since childhood—this was a little secret of his. Night vision had helped him a lot during those tough years, allowing him to hunt more prey than others and barely manage to fill his stomach.
Thinking about those hard days made Li Hong a bit distracted. Just then, the strange Red and White Pattern beneath him began to glow, gradually intensifying until beams of light shot out in various angles, intertwining red and white lights becoming brighter and brighter. Soon, Li Hong found himself sitting in the midst of a luminous platform.
"Spirit Gathering Array!" Li Hong recalled the peculiar term mentioned by Spirit Stone earlier. He curiously observed the fixed intertwining red and white beams before him and suddenly thought of an important question: if he couldn't leave this light array, what would happen if he got hungry?
As soon as he thought about food, his already empty stomach felt even emptier. Then another crucial question came to mind—how could he see inside his own body? He looked down at himself; he was wearing a white silk robe and could clearly see the patterns on the fabric. However, seeing inside his body through the clothing was utterly impossible.
Spirit Stone couldn't be playing tricks on him, could it? Li Hong muttered to himself.
While lost in thought, warmth began to spread in his belly, as if a small flame was roasting his viscera from within, creating a pleasantly warm sensation. Gradually, that flame seemed to start spinning in his stomach, swirling around in circles. A sudden thought flashed through Li Hong's mind—could that pill be the legendary elixir? With this thought, he felt invigorated; if there was an elixir, then anything was possible.
He looked down at his belly, hoping to truly see some kind of phenomenon through his clothing. But aside from the feeling of that flame growing stronger inside him, he couldn't see anything—not even through his robe to glimpse his abdomen.
He strained his eyes but still couldn't see his belly; however, the fiery sensation inside him gradually subsided, leaving his entire body feeling warm and comfortable. For some reason, his eyelids felt heavy, and he began to feel drowsy. Without realizing it, Li Hong closed his eyes.
In a hazy state of mind, colorful and strange images flashed by too quickly for him to discern anything clearly. Gradually, a beautiful face emerged in his mind, becoming clearer and clearer—it was his sister-in-law Wanyi.
Wanyi was sitting at a table with a sewing basket in front of her. In her right hand was a small pair of scissors, with a piece of red satin pinched between her fingers. The satin gradually took shape as she cut it with her hands. Wanyi smiled slightly; her black eyes were almond-shaped and slightly curved, as if golden flames were dancing deep within them. Her beautiful face looked incredibly vibrant as she laid the cut satin on the table and gazed at it with a beaming smile.
Sister-in-law...
A loud bang echoed in his mind, and all the images vanished. Li Hong's body trembled. Countless silver stars danced before his tightly closed eyelids. His mind was blank, but he felt an incredible lightness and comfort throughout his body, as if he was slowly floating without control.
The dancing silver stars gradually formed discernible trajectories. They automatically gathered together to create straight lines and curves, slowly outlining a human figure made up of these curves and lines.
The Twelve Meridians and Eight Extraordinary Meridians! Li Hong suddenly opened his eyes, and he saw within his own body.

"That was fast!" Spirit Stone exclaimed, circling around Li Hong with wide eyes, sparkling with excitement. "How did you do it?"
Li Hong shivered slightly, recalling the moment he "saw" his sister-in-law. For some reason, he felt he couldn't share that scene with Spirit Stone, and he knew very well that the entire matter had nothing to do with her.
Li Hong put on an innocent and confused expression.
Spirit Stone deflated: "Just a silly boy! Forget it, extend your hand."
As soon as Li Hong settled down, Spirit Stone's two fingers reached over to rest on his wrist pulse. His brow gradually furrowed as he closed his eyes. This expression made Li Hong feel uneasy. Just as he was about to ask again, he suddenly felt Spirit Stone's fingers growing hotter. A wave of fiery strange energy surged up his arm straight to the top of his head, causing him to shout out in surprise.
The fiery strange energy rushed to the top of his head in an instant and then shot straight down to his feet. Half of Li Hong's body felt like it was being roasted in a furnace; it was extremely uncomfortable, yet he couldn't move at all. Then that heat surged again from his feet back up to his chest, flowing into the inner side of his arms, and suddenly surged along the outer side of his arms back to the top of his head. Now his whole body felt like it was in a furnace. He felt as if he was burning alive, panting heavily like a dog.
Spirit Stone shouted, "Remember the flow of heat through the pathways!"
Immediately after, the heat surged from the top of his head along the center line of his chest toward his lower abdomen Dantian, swirling around before rushing up along his spine from beneath him. When the heat reached the top of his head again, Li Hong heard a loud buzzing in his mind, as if a great bell had struck inside his head, shaking him violently. Looking at himself now drenched in sweat, he also felt an indescribable sense of relaxation and comfort throughout his body.
Spirit Stone put down his fingers, adjusted his sleeves, and smiled, "Very well, the connection between heaven and earth has been established. Now you should sit quietly here and follow the same route of Great Circulation to gather all your Innate True Qi into your Dantian." He pointed to Li Hong's lower abdomen, indicating the location of the Dantian.
Li Hong was momentarily stunned. The flow of heat just now was indeed the Great Circulation within his body. Earlier, he had heard Wanyi mention that the twelve meridians and eight extraordinary vessels of the human body formed the Great Circulation. The heat he felt had circulated through the twelve meridians along with the Ren Meridian and Du Mai of the eight extraordinary vessels.
Great Circulation... Li Hong was in a daze. What many ordinary people struggled for years to achieve, he had accomplished effortlessly in just half a day. Could it be due to that pill?
Thinking about it made him frown again, and he asked, "Innate True Qi, what is it?"
Spirit Stone smiled slightly, revealing that cunning expression that Li Hong recognized. He said, "Just do as I say, and you will know what it is."
He swayed as he walked out the door, which closed behind him. Li Hong was once again immersed in darkness; this time it was truly dark, even the Spirit Gathering Array no longer glowed.
After pondering for a while, Li Hong began to recall the route of the heat flow from earlier and gradually gained some understanding. He closed his eyes and sat quietly. Soon, he immersed himself in a mysterious world.
*********
A wind rose in the deep hall, causing the bright red robe of the statue of Seasoned Master to flutter. The flame in Palm grew ever more intense.
A figure glided lightly across the smooth Black Jade floor, and one person sat down on one of the tall Black Jade Chairs. Then another person appeared, followed by another... a total of six people emerged, and finally, even on the highest Black Jade Chair, another person took a seat.
This person wore a bright red robe identical to that of Seasoned Master, complete with a matching high crown; their face was as pale as jade, with calm brows and eyes, exuding an otherworldly demeanor. However, there was a strange look of fatigue on their face that contrasted sharply with the vibrant expressions of the others.
Seeing everyone gathered, he touched his forehead; his voice was somewhat hoarse as he asked, "Spirit Stone, why have you summoned everyone?"
Spirit Stone said solemnly, "Reporting to Elder Brother Zhangmen, a disciple of our sect has obtained the inheritance of the Six Spirit Salty Ritual."
As soon as these words were spoken, it was as if a calm Lake Surface had suddenly been swept by a Whirlwind. A few gasps could be heard in the great hall.
A female voice asked excitedly, "Is that true? Who is this disciple? Could it be one of your new disciples from Nine Vermilion Peaks?" The speaker was Ling Xiangzi, a Female Cultivator from Nine Li Sect Nine Purple Peak Elder Brother, known for her straightforwardness and fearlessness in offending others. She stared at Spirit Stone with disbelief.
"Indeed!" replied Spirit Stone. "Scripture Repository Yue Qingzi Master Uncle can attest to this. This is a significant matter; why would I lie!"
A murmur spread through the crowd.
"It seems you have your eyes on the Fire Separation Pearl. Hmph, who doesn't know about that Great-Granduncle's foundation-building method from Three Thousand Years? It’s worth a try; I agree." Ling Xiaozi, the Elder Brother of Nine Lotus Peak, flicked open his prized possession, the “Heaven and Earth Free-Flowing Fan,” gently fanning himself. A few strands of hair on his forehead fluttered slightly with his calm movements.
Spirit Stone's eyes sparkled: "The Fire Separation Pearl is just a minor matter; it's merely a loan for that disciple to use. How could it possibly get lost right under our noses? But if he succeeds in foundation building, what do you all think?"
Silence fell over the room. Ling Daozi, the Elder Brother of Jiu Tan Peak, hesitantly said, "Are you referring to that plan?"
"Exactly!" shouted Spirit Stone. "Over the years, Heavenly Grain's attitude towards us has become increasingly hostile, and the supply of Elixir has dwindled, resulting in fewer and fewer disciples each time we open our Mountain Gate. If this continues, our strength in the Nine Li Sect will decline further. Yet our arch-enemies are still lurking nearby! The time for the Spirit Scheme is pressing; do you all wish to sit idly by?"
Spirit Stone scanned the faces of those present and, seeing their silence, knew he had moved them. He continued, "The fact that the Six Spirit Salty Ritual has spontaneously passed down at this moment is indeed a Great Opportunity. That Great-Granduncle from Three Thousand Years Ago has already proven the feasibility of this plan; it's just unfortunate... let's not dwell on the past. Now that we finally have a disciple who has obtained the inheritance of the Six Spirit Salty Ritual, we cannot let this great opportunity slip away. It’s time to implement that plan!"
"The premise is that your disciple can successfully build his foundation!" exclaimed Ling Xiangzi loudly.
Everyone turned their gaze toward Spirit Stone.
Spirit Stone stroked his beard, his brows furrowed: "He only took half a day to observe his meridians, and now he is in seclusion for the final preparations for foundation establishment. He should be able to establish his foundation. I have at least a 40% confidence in this plan; this disciple will be the best sample."
Ling Xiaozi remained silent for a moment before saying, "A 40% confidence is already quite good. I agree."
The others also nodded slowly.
The sect leader Ling Xuzi stood up slowly upon hearing this and said solemnly, "Summon Zhu Feng Ling! Gather all the elders for a meeting."
Spirit Stone breathed a sigh of relief, only then realizing that his palm was tightly clenched with sweat; in fact, he only had a 15% confidence. The additional half percent was truly due to Li Hong quickly opening the heavenly gates.

The melodious ancient music resonated throughout the Nine Li Cave Heaven. Figures flew out from various places in Nine Li Cave Heaven, soaring through the sky like lightning.
Li Hong was at a critical juncture. A trickle of silver light slowly seeped from his bones and muscles, merging into his meridians, like droplets of water from an iceberg gathering in his lower abdomen Dantian.
A small ball of silver light shone brightly in Li Hong Dantian's energy sea. Innate True Qi had already condensed.
