What is this "hill"? It's clearly the Steel-Toothed Crocodile King that fell from the passage earlier.

Zong Nan nodded and closely followed behind Cheng Ze, soaring toward where the Carrion Beetles were feeding.
Due to the narrow area, the two nearly brushed past the Carrion Beetles, getting a close-up view of their gruesome forms drenched in blood. A chill washed over Zong Nan, and fear spread through him instantly.
At that moment, three beetles at the top of the corpse suddenly stopped feeding. Their antennae twisted, and one end quickly pointed at Zong Nan, a red light flashing from its tip.
"Chirp chirp!" The other Carrion Beetles remained still, but these three with glowing antennae suddenly sprang into action. Their massive gray shells opened up, revealing transparent wings that buzzed as they shot up from the corpse like lightning, pursuing Zong Nan.
"This is bad! How did we disturb the Carrion Beetles?" Cheng Ze was alarmed. He swung his long knife in an arc toward the three charging Carrion Beetles.
Bang bang bang!
The crimson blade struck the shells of the Carrion Beetles, merely causing them to pause momentarily before they surged forward again with increased speed.
Zong Nan sensed something was off; he abruptly changed his pace, activating Vital Energy at full speed, propelling himself sideways.

The three beetles immediately altered their course, closely following Zong Nan.
Having bypassed the feeding ground of the beetles, Ye Feng and the others noticed the changes happening to Zong Nan.
Ye Feng's pupils constricted as he transmitted a message to Zong Nan, "Fortunately, only three beetles were disturbed; the others remain unaffected. Elder Brother, lead them here and take them down!"
Cheng Ze was surprised to find that the three beetles showed no interest in him. However, he had a close relationship with Zong Nan and couldn't bear to see his friend perish under the beetles.
"Elder Brother, hold on! I'm coming to save you!" With a furious shout, Cheng Ze disregarded the possibility of alarming other beetles. The Fire Elemental Energy surged through him, and his long knife instantly turned crimson!

The temperature around them rose rapidly as a circular fire ring shot forth from the tip of his knife.
The fire ring soared into the air and quickly ensnared one of the Carrion Beetles, incinerating its pair of transparent wings into ashes.
Without its wings, the Carrion Beetle lost its ability to fly and plummeted to the ground, struggling helplessly.
The fire ring tightly bound the Carrion Beetle; the more it struggled, the faster the ring constricted. The intense Fire Elemental Energy scorched the beetle's surface, producing billows of black smoke.
At that moment, shadows shot out from the corpse of the Steel-Toothed Crocodile King. Cheng Ze's actions had indeed drawn the attention of all the Carrion Beetles.
A terrifying number of Carrion Beetles took to the sky, darkening the air like an ominous cloud, creating a shocking scene.
"This is bad; all the beetles are mobilizing! Although Carrion Beetles lack vision and hearing, they are extremely sensitive to changes in temperature and scent!" Huang Yao cursed angrily. "Cheng Ze is such a fool!"
Ye Feng could only smile wryly and shake his head. After all, Cheng Ze was eager to save his friend and didn't think things through. Since he needed to cut off the Carrion Beetles' wings from extremely precise angles, Ye Feng's speed was naturally limited. However, even so, his speed had already left Huang Yao and others in awe; within just a few breaths, more than ten streaks of sword light poured forth from the Lingfeng Sword.
As each streak of sword light swept past, a large group of Carrion Beetles at the forefront had their wings severed and fell to the ground. However, they did not stop their pursuit; instead, they continued to crawl on the ground.
