My brother Liu An and Sister-in-law blatantly took advantage of my family, using a debt of four hundred thousand as an excuse to stay at my house. After An Xin once again endured Zhu Quan's creditors collecting "interest" from her, my brother, seeing the tearful An Xin and the lewd man who was satisfied while fastening his belt, couldn't help but explode in anger, saying, "You two get out of my house! He yanked Sister-in-law from the sofa into his arms. Sister-in-law's face turned red with shame as she struggled helplessly. "I'm not just going to hit you; even if I sleep with your wife right in front of you, what can you do about it?" he mocked. "Useless!"
Liu An was furious and tried to get up but failed. In a fit of rage, he spat on Zhu Quan's face. Zhu Quan was infuriated and crouched down to punch Liu An repeatedly. By the time he got tired of hitting him, my brother had cried himself out as well. After stopping, they realized that Liu An's wounds had reopened and were bleeding profusely.
This cycle continued repeatedly; as the beatings increased, both my brother and Sister-in-law tacitly pretended not to see when the other was being beaten. Zhu Quan vented his anger on Liu An once more, and the next day, Liu An's still-healing wounds quickly swelled and became infected.
My brother finally woke up to the reality that if this continued, the desperate Zhu Quan would eventually take his life. That night, he mustered the courage to escape with Liu Xiaoxin but was unexpectedly discovered by An Xin, who had gotten up to use the bathroom.
An Xin screamed with a twisted expression on her face: "Liu An, it's all your fault! If it weren't for your greed, my son would have inherited half of his godmother's fortune!" My brother asked her in confusion, "What?"
An Xin roared back: "That day when I found out there was no money in my account and confronted Liu Cece, I realized that you and Zhu Quan had planned to crash into her! She knew everything!" Grabbing my brother's shirt at the chest with a sickly smile, she said, "My life is already ruined; how could I just watch you start over?"
After being caught by Zhu Quan again, my brother suffered another brutal beating. Zhu Quan threw seven-year-old Liu Xiaoxin into the bathroom like a dog and didn't give him food or water for three days. Finally, one night, Liu Xiaoxin found an opportunity to send me a message using An Xin's phone.
My brother hesitated for two days before reporting Zhu Quan to the police since it was inappropriate for him to be in the same room as Zhu Quan. When the police arrived, they found Liu Xiaoxin beaten black and blue; he had already starved to death in the bathroom.
Zhu Quan and An Xin were arrested and sent to prison. Zhu Quan was sentenced to death for participating in gambling, trespassing into private residences, and intentional homicide, receiving multiple sentences. An Xin was detained for three months for illegally invading someone else's home and was left with nothing.
After her release from prison, An Xin had nothing and became a drifter. The last sighting of her was under a bridge in the East Suburb, sitting on the lap of a disheveled homeless man, exchanging a piece of bread.
As for my younger brother, it’s unclear how much trauma he endured; he became mentally unstable and erratic. He would tell anyone who would listen, "My son is very wealthy. He not only has me living in a villa but also often takes me out for drives in his sports car."
My stepmother found him embarrassing and locked him up at home, no longer allowing him to go outside. She was already at an age where she needed care herself, and now she had to continue taking care of a madman, making her seem like she aged ten years overnight.
When my stepmother finally got through to my phone and heard my voice, she angrily said on the other end, "Liu Cece, how can you be so selfish? Your dad and I are getting old and need someone to take care of us. Your brother has gone mad and can't be relied upon, yet we have to look after him while you just run off to Australia to enjoy yourself! What do you mean by that?!"

My stepmother was taken aback, struggling to respond before finally managing to say, "You... you are simply outrageous!"
"I am indeed outrageous."
"If you don't agree with this, then sever ties with me."
"If you don't agree with this, then come find me."
"If you don't agree with this, then let me roll out of here from abroad."
"Can you do that?"
My stepmother trembled with anger: "You... you..."
After stammering for a long time, she couldn't articulate anything meaningful.
I coldly stated, "I used to be your daughter; now I am myself."
"If you want to sever ties with me, I am always ready."
"If you want me to return home, then come to Australia yourself."
"However, I will not be going back."
"You might as well give up."
After saying that, I hung up the phone.
A month later, Liu An passed away.
He was starved to death by my parents.

A year later, I became pregnant.
