A few days later, Li Ming received a notification about an important company meeting. He felt somewhat surprised, but there was also a glimmer of hope that this could change his situation in the company. However, he had no idea that this meeting would become a stage for his humiliation.
As the meeting began, Liu Yi presided over it with a faint smirk on his face. Xiao Li and Xiao Wang sat beside Liu Yi, looking quite pleased with themselves. Li Ming felt a sense of unease but forced himself to remain calm.
"Colleagues, today we are here to discuss an important project," Liu Yi announced, then turned to Li Ming. "Li Ming, please report on the part you are responsible for."
Li Ming nodded and stood up to begin his report. However, just as he started speaking, Xiao Li interrupted him.
"Li Ming, your data is incorrect; the numbers here are clearly wrong," Xiao Li said coldly, a contemptuous smile on his face.
"Yes, such a mistake is quite elementary," Xiao Wang chimed in from the side, and together they launched an attack on Li Ming.
Li Ming felt a wave of powerlessness wash over him. He knew he had been set up, but he couldn't defend himself.
"Li Ming, this report is unacceptable; you need to reorganize it," Liu Yi said coldly, a flicker of disgust in his eyes.
"Manager Liu, I have already verified the data; there is no problem," Li Ming said through gritted teeth, struggling to explain.
"You've verified it? Then why are there still errors here?" Liu Yi sneered. "It seems your work attitude is problematic."
Li Ming felt utterly defeated; he knew he couldn't clarify things in this situation. He lowered his head in silence, filled with anger and disappointment.
Seeing this, Xiao Li and Xiao Wang exchanged smug smiles and continued their assault on Li Ming.
"Li Ming, your performance is truly disappointing," Xiao Li said coldly, still wearing that disdainful smile.
"Yes, we all feel ashamed for you," Xiao Wang added from the side as they both burst into laughter.
Li Ming felt that his patience during the company meeting had reached its limit. As the mocking laughter of Xiao Li and Xiao Wang echoed around him, he could no longer endure it. He felt his Spiritual Energy surging within him, fists clenched tightly, his gaze igniting with fury.
"You've gone too far!" Li Ming shouted as his Spiritual Energy erupted violently. He swung his fists forward, and the energy transformed into two sharp beams of light aimed directly at Xiao Li and Xiao Wang.
Xiao Li and Xiao Wang were completely unprepared for Li Ming's sudden outburst. They only felt a powerful force rushing toward them, their eyes widening in terror as their faces turned pale. However, at that critical moment, Liu Yi suddenly intervened. With a casual wave of his hand, he deflected Li Ming's attack and sent his Spiritual Energy back at him.
Li Ming felt an overwhelming force suppressing him instantly; he was knocked back several steps and nearly lost his balance. Liu Yi looked at him coldly, a flicker of disdain flashing in his eyes.
“Li Ming, what are you doing?” Liu Yi said coldly. “How dare you act out in the company?”
Li Ming felt a wave of helplessness wash over him. He knew his attack had no effect on Liu Yi. Anger and disappointment flickered in his eyes, but he understood that he could not change this reality.
“Manager Liu, they forced me!” Li Ming exclaimed angrily, unable to endure such humiliation and injustice.
“Regardless, you acted out in the company, which is against the rules,” Liu Yi replied coldly. “Starting today, you are fired.”
Li Ming's heart sank at the words. Although he had anticipated this outcome, hearing it confirmed left him feeling utterly defeated.
“Manager Liu, why? I have been working so hard,” Li Ming pleaded, but he knew it was futile.
“Your efforts have not met the company’s standards,” Liu Yi said coldly. “You’d better leave soon; don’t make things worse.”
Feeling powerless, Li Ming realized he could not change Liu Yi's decision. Silently, he began to pack his belongings and left the office.
Just as Li Ming turned to leave, an unnamed fury surged within him. He spun around suddenly, fists clenched, and shouted, “Liu Yi, this is completely unfair!”
Liu Yi sneered, “Unfair? There has never been absolute fairness in this world. Strength is what determines everything.”
Unable to bear it any longer, Li Ming felt his Spiritual Energy erupt within him once more as he charged at Liu Yi. Seeing this, Liu Yi's expression changed slightly before he sneered again, “You overestimate yourself.”
With a casual wave of his hand, a powerful barrier of Spiritual Energy appeared instantly, blocking Li Ming's attack. Li Ming felt his strength completely suppressed and was knocked back several steps.
“With your level of cultivation, you think you can challenge me?” Liu Yi said coldly. In an instant, he flashed forward and struck Li Ming in the chest with a palm.
Li Ming felt a tremendous force hit him; he was sent flying against the wall and coughed up blood. Pain surged through his chest, making it nearly impossible to breathe.
“Li Ming, this is the consequence of your overestimation,” Liu Yi said coldly, his gaze filled with disdain.
Struggling to stand up, Li Ming's eyes sparkled with defiance. He knew that compared to Liu Yi, he was still far too weak. But he refused to give up so easily; he decided to try again.
“I will not admit defeat!” Li Ming yelled as he summoned his Spiritual Energy once more and charged at Liu Yi again.
Liu Yi chuckled lightly and waved his hand again; once more, Li Ming's attack was effortlessly neutralized. Liu Yi then struck out with a palm that hit Li Ming’s shoulder, sending him flying once more.
Li Ming felt a sharp pain coursing through his entire body. He struggled to stand up, but his legs could no longer support him. He knew he could no longer fight, yet he remained unwilling to accept defeat.
"Li Ming, you should just give up. Your strength is simply not enough to compete with me," Liu Yi said coldly, a hint of mockery flashing in his eyes.
Li Ming felt a wave of helplessness wash over him. He understood that he could not continue the battle. Bowing his head in silence, he was filled with anger and disappointment.
"Effective immediately, you are fired from the company," Liu Yi stated coldly before turning to leave.
Li Ming quietly gathered his belongings and trudged out of the company with heavy steps. He knew his career had come to an end, but he also realized that perhaps this was fate's arrangement, allowing him to focus on cultivation and embark on the path of immortality.
Upon returning home, Li Ming felt an overwhelming sense of loss and helplessness. He understood that his efforts had not yielded the rewards he deserved, but he also knew that only by becoming stronger could he truly change his destiny.
Li Ming opened the Primordial True Scripture and began to meditate on its teachings. He felt the Spiritual Energy within him growing more abundant, and his cultivation gradually improved. He knew that as long as he persevered, there would come a day when he would achieve a breakthrough.
After losing his job, Li Ming spent all day at home diligently practicing the Primordial True Scripture. He stared at the obscure and difficult characters in the ancient text, studying tirelessly day and night in an attempt to grasp more methods of cultivation. However, once he reached the Foundation Stage, he found that his progress slowed dramatically, as if he had encountered an insurmountable bottleneck.
One late night, Li Ming sat at his desk again, holding the Primordial True Scripture in his hands, determination shining in his eyes. He read the text over and over again, trying to find a way to break through. Yet no matter how hard he tried, his cultivation remained stagnant, leaving him feeling increasingly frustrated and disheartened.
"Why... why can't I advance any further?" Li Ming murmured to himself, filled with confusion and anxiety. He knew time was limited and that he needed to find a breakthrough method quickly; otherwise, he would be forever trapped at the Foundation Stage.
As time passed slowly, Li Ming's stomach began to rumble. Realizing he hadn't eaten in a long while, he decided to go out and buy some food to lighten his mood.
